I like Aion and I knew what to expect when I bought it.  I can tell you right now Blade & Soul is gonna be a "korean grinder" and if thats what you found wrong in Aion then you will be disappointed.  You should know better to base how a game is gonna be on its trailers.

Make games you want to play.

But hey i liked Aion, Just didnt have much time to play, And well teh bots never really got on my nerves just the spamming which was fixed with block when i logged on i had two people that was it all the time which took 10 seconds to stop,
And well yeh if the grind is fixed a little and i can level abit quicker then ill come back just i dont have the time to grind for hours on end i have a life. XD

Dude you don't make sence you say it yourself that aion has bots/spamm/grind and you say its good game.

and how does this demonstrate any form of "trust breaking"?

  • RydekRydek Member Posts: 35

The fact is its a good game because when you play it you enjoy it, which in my eyes is a good game and the population is great and theres room for improvment,

Sure theres spam and bots, but like any other mmo out there there are people who spam and use bots, So Aion is just another game to be hit by them simple as that, it doesnt take away the fact its a good game. Just needs more polish

I wish I had the insight of the people who "just know" that B&S will be a grinding game. If they haven't played it, they don't know. And that's a fact, not an assumption.

Sorry but unlike other posters I dont waste my time trying to show people whats obvious. Look at that trailer and then tell me which MMO that is already released here in the West that plays and looks like Blade & Soul so I can go and try it.

It looks a lot like Aion to me.

A shinier coat of paint doesnt make any game "different". however, when I watched the blade and soul trailer, I did see what seemed to me real time combat, the kind you have in fighting games. If that is indeed the case, it does look interesting.

I'm sure someone said that for Aion.

    BUAHAHAHA!

I laughed at my neighbor for five minutes straight when he told me he preordered Aion and how it would kill WoW.

    ((Like Warhammer and AoC, right?))

I figure he'll throw the B&S box out the window just like he did the Aion one.

shinier coat of paint? Maybe thats all you see but I dont.  As for the fighting it is one of the main things that looks impressive. The fighting system is something new to MMOs. I am not talking about fighting games.

Exactly. If you know so much more than all of us Mannish, why not get specific?

Looks like it has some good physics in it, when the destroyer picks up the gunner by the head, that looks fucking badass

If you want info on the game why not look it up? It takes less then a minute to go to Google and search Blade & Soul yet you will make post afther post asking for somebody to tell you about the game. It just does not make sence. I have never been to a forum and asked for people to tell me about a game. Its much faster and easier for me to go and get it.

    B+

Now, I did look some stuff up. check this out:

    Main Characteristics

    • Oriental Martial Arts Action: It is full of symbolic and well known Oriental martial art elements such as ‘Energy Ball’, ‘Inner Energy’, ‘Swift jump,’ etc. The important themes of Oriental martial art fantasies such as justice and chivalry are richly spread throughout the game by means of martial art.

    • Oriental-features: Breaking away from the traditional medieval fantasy world, it takes an Oriental mysticism as the background environment. The basic world-view is based on the Korean myth ‘Song of Genesis,’ and the factions within the game are also modeled after Korean mythological characters

    • Constantly Changing Environment: Within ‘Blade&Soul,’ many conditions change according to the play of the gamer, on the other hand, the environment creates diverse situations for the gamers. This system will provide the gamers with a new experience that has not been witnessed until now.

    • Powerful Action: The main motto of battles within ‘Blade&Soul’ is ‘super powerful action’ that can distinguish itself from existing games. Players can knock back opponents and use diverse fancy skills according to the condition the gamers are posed in. The game aspires to provide battles that are enjoyable even by just watching them. Everyone can enjoy the battles of ‘Blade&Soul’ through simple comtrol.

    "

Awesome stuff right there uh? Martial Art style combat (why I associated it with fighting games' style) If you have info that says otherwise, why not share it?

Oriental themed. Really? How original, considering its a NSCoft game.

Changing environment. Conveniently, it doesnt exactly say how.

Powerful Action. Knockback? diverse fancy abilities? Well, which ones? Diablo2 had knockback.

Pardon me, but what exactly is new and terribly exciting about this? Prettier graphics than most, and what can be a new fighting system for most mmos. Other than that, i see nothing more.

Now that you know about the game and its does not intrest you then all you can do is keep moving till you find something that does. I mean what do you want? LMAO

Well after Aion turning into a typical F2P grind game I think I will wait till three months after release to see what people think.

Im not saying it doesnt interest me. Like I said many times before, I enjoyed Aion, and I could definitely enjoy this game. I will definitely try it of course. All I was responding to was the fact that you said this game would have many different / innovative things, and I just wanted to hear more, because I dont really see what they could be from the info thats out there.

I think it's safe to assume that other people feel the same way, although i did not assume that...

I suppose more examples are needed to show what they have done wrong, and good luck giving feedback to NCsoft .

No 41-49 mobs in the abyss, no 44-50 rifts, super short view distances,  safe zones all over the abyss, everyone pve's for abyss points, tiny game world, paradise for botters, zergfest sieges, gankfest pvp, snorefest instancing, no grouping incentives, 2nd best gear set in game is solable.  Im sure their is more.

I spent about a week at level 50 before i realized that the game wont hold my attention as PvP death had no meaning. I suppose i just wanted it to be more like Lineage 2 than WoW but it wasn't even close.

AION is the most grind heavy MMO I've ever played, if I knew it was that bad before hand I would of probably not gotten it. I just hope S&B is not so grind heavy, but since it's an Asian MMO my hopes are low ATM.

For all you people that were talking about the "visions of the future" trailer for aion I have only one comment about that:  If you think that is what is coming in aion you are sorely mistaken.

According to NCSoft themselves " these are things that we WOULD like to add."  They of course waited till a week or so after that trailer was released before saying that though. Hmmmm wonder why?  Perhaps to allow it to do what it did. Fool people into re-subbing and believeing that was content that was coming soon.  When in reality it was nothing more than a ploy to re-gain some subs. Now I'm sure some people are gonna say "well they are working on it", no they are not working on it.  They are working on some "content" but what they showed was again, things they would like to add and they stated that what was shown might never appear in game.  As for those who may be wondering, yes I do still play the game and everyday it gets harder to log in cause of how horribly the game is designed.  There are numerous problems with the game and I'm not talking about the lack of customer support or technical support. I'm talking about design flaws that are glaringly apparent and should have never been allowed into a game that went live.  I'll gladly list them off if you want just say so and I'll make another post detailing all the flaws that I'm aware of.

No I am sure that NCSoft would just make a video with shit they will never add, yea completely fooled me for sure. Not to mention they have gameplay in there, so it definitely doesn't exist and never will apparently to the pessimistic guy above me who has no actual proof that it isn't coming out either. I mean have you ever once thought that they might have been listening to people and decided to fix most issues in this expansion?

Also, if it does come out, what will you do? Will you come back here and right your wrongs, or will you be in denial and refuse that you ever said it? I am taking a screenshot, so if it does come out, your fail can live on. Forever and ever...

  • ravenmystravenmyst Member UncommonPosts: 55

No, IF and its a big IF everything that was shown was implemented then yes I will admit that I am wrong. I have absolutely no problem admitting when I'm wrong about something.  My point was that everything that was shown is in no way promised to the players, which before they released the trailer they could have said, but instead choose to allow the player base to believe that this was coming soon.  They never once mentioned that it was stuff that they hope to add in but might never get the chance to add in.  That was a large problem and very big mistake imo.  Admit upfront that something is not being promised so that way people don't get the impression that it is in fact coming.  Look back at other mmos that said such and such will be in the game and then failed to deliver. What happened with them alot of them suffered serious consequences for failing to deliver on what they were promised.  I have talked with many player in game after it was said that none of it is promised to be added but that they hope to add it. You know what the commmon theme in replies was?  They felt that they were misled. You personally might have seen through the smoke screen that was thrown up misleading alot of the playerbase, but many more didn't myself included.  I bought into the whole this is coming soon and not this is what we hope to add in one day if our game can hold enough subs.

If you think Aion was a failure you probably didn't look into it very much. It is a pvp grinder, plain and simple, always was. If you bought it thinking otherwise, you were fooling yourself. If you buy ANY mmo for features PLANNED, you are fooling yourself. Aion had a pretty long beta that wasn't that hard to get into to try it.

i got to say in english speaking country ncsoft is far from the best name brand

arenanet tho is one of the top name in america ,yes very close to blizzard.

thats why ncsoft gave arenanet the contract to comerciallised an already made game from korea to english

wihc is about the same as doing it ncsoft themself but if it doesnt work doesnt discredit ncsoft and discredit arenanet

ncsoft is too big a company in my view,if they bothered less about ncsoft image and instead more on making good game

we wouldnt be where we re at.

but we might have a chance but on one condition.

arenanet brough guild wars one of the only game to ever can say it was competing with wow for a very long time

and just that is a big achievement in english speaking country.i dont think there are any title that can goast that feat in that last 7 years

this alone should give full green light to arenanet!will it?

probably not! ncsoft couldnt care less about other of their smaller entity.it remind me of the internal war that is going on in activision for the rulership of blizzard

everybody in activision want to be bossing blizzard ,what activision stupid that want this dont understand is that they

get ton of money because of blizzard ,blizzard hasnt needed anybody around them for 4 years.

and arenanet face the same problem .everybody in ncsoft want to be in arenanet bossing arenanet

muy question!dont ncsoft employe got work to do they suck so much at correcting error and bugs in l2, l1 and countless other title that they want to get out of their sinking boat to go scrat arenanet too

hell if i was the boss of ncsoft i wouldnt be happy some are truelly sleeping  there

and i dont speak about the smaller division like arenanet.since these guys are at the merci of the silly napoleon dynamite guru that are those vying for power at ncsoft instead of making sure other title from ncsoft pick up in the world.

it made me laugh we ncsoft sucked so much that they put their own burden to make aion successfull on arenanet

i w2as laughing so hard,i was like wtf it was designed in korea where is that korean ass hole

hes the one responsible for a flop if aion is a flop not arenanet

since arenanet recieved the game already build and was ORDERED to make aion successfull in english

lol why didnt ncsoft ask arenanet to build the game from scratch instead of asking arenanet  to correct the mistake korea made for english speaking market

in my view ncsoft should stop trying to make other shoulder their mistake and accept it if they are in error.

hell talk about error.arenanet when they started an mmo idea had to beg ncsoft, ncsoft openned the door .5 of an millimeter

and we got guild wars dam one of the most popular title in english.

imagine if ncsoft a-hole had refused like their other countless mistake.they wouldnt have had the second spot (with gw)

    for so long lol.
