Please use search as that exact topic has been discussed on multiple occassions.. or feel free to start your own thread.

This thread is not about discussing the reasons for someone to preorder a game

Your OP was about the schedule of when you ordered, and when you received.  I thought it was about your pre-order, and why you cancelled it. My apologies.

Hmm.. another curiosity about the shiping of the game,  I noticed that the envelope has a customs declaration on it.  The box that is checked is "gift" and it shows a value of  zero "0"...

I wonder if this was done correctly as it wasn't a "gift" and i hope it has value as I purchased it from the company... I hope this wansn't to skirt payment of duties and tariffs.  I can't really tell as the form is in Swedish but that sounds strange to me...

Not really that weird considering they aren't selling the boxes regularly, I guess they figure it's worthless to them, so they just send them out anyway. It may be to save face, or push an idea that people are actually paying for the beta/game itself rather than the box. The client that comes with it doesn't even work anyway does it?

I honestly don't know.  I had left it out on a desk until I heard back from them on returning it.  Since they haven't given me instructions on returning it I put it in my closet and just happened to look.  I saw Gift and value of zero and neighter seemed correct.. /shrug who knows.

I take it if you get a charge back they ban your account?

Incidentally, NCSoft ALSO does this. Did it to me after I got a refund for AION.  I think it's some sort of measure to prevent hacking of inactive accounts or something.  /shrug

Imagine my surprise though when I got a fake AION email saying my account was in jeopardy, with the usual fake url to click to "confirm your account info," thereby causing me to think, "Huh?? WTF? I haven't even LOOKED at that game since last July or something! LOL" So I go to log in (not from the email link, of course, I"m not an idiot) and find....my account has INDEED been banned!  O.O   Then I was informed that NCSoft did that on all charge backs from when the game was first released.  Well hey...I had a good laugh over it. =D  I thought....AION is banning accounts of people who don't even PLAY...man they're messed up. HAH!  But anyway....it was all just that charge back thing. So.....

Maybe this is just a common practice anymore.
