I've just turned 15 and currently studying and play WoW when I'm not at School. I usually only play after School and on the weekends. All my friends play WoW so it's a good social activity as well, as we like to laugh at all the bads. I can't understand why people expect us to be leniant on them when they don't take 10 mins out to learn their class.

I set up PUGs or I do Heroics with usually two friends. To be honest I don't care about your background or your WoW experience. I use GearScore proudly and it does wonders. I will set a GS so I know we can clear and not wipe, which is why I will only accept you if you meet my GS. I will also kick you once you have been invited once I find a higher GS player until the raid group is full. I don't care as It's all about maximising the raid group, I don't want bads lagging behind as I want  to clear as quickly as I can.

In Heroics, it is the same. I as the leader, will kick you even if you think you should stay as you have just dinged 80 as I set a time limit on instances. I don't care because as a DPS you will be replaced in 10 secs so I can achieve my goal of clearing the instance quickly, rinse and repeat. Why take a sub par blue wearing baddie when I can get an ICC geared person?

I'm not here to be your friend, you want to chat, stay in Barrens or Dalaran, I'm here to get my badges and to raid. Period.

    Would you kick your friends?

Your kind of players give bad name to community in ever MMORPG. But you are still in school so i don't expect any maturity from you.

    mhmmm

I have to agree with goatus on this one.  The OP's writing style is definetly more educated than that of any 11-15 year old.  I call shenaegins on the OP, he/she is no more 15 years old than I am.  I seriously doubt the OP has any characters over the level of 20.

The OP is the reason I left WoW.  I left even before the whole gearscore crap.  Whether or not the guy is 15 he certainly acts like he has the mental maturity of a 15 year old.

I play games to have fun.  Ever since BC raiding in WoW turned into work.  If I'm gonna work I might as well just stay at the office cuz at least I'd get paid.

I appreciate WoW for what it is and continues to be, and it's terrible that the community has devolved into a one that is filled with people like the OP.

Guys.  It's a joke.  OP isn't serious, he's being sarcastic.  I think his post was pretty funny, but based on the rise he got out of all of you I'd say you've been successfully trolled.

The OP makes a joke about being 15, but the really sad part is a lot of players who act like that are in their 20s and 30s if not older. A 15 year old I can give a pass to for being immature. Once you're above 25 its well past time to start maturing, and realizing getting your self-worth from a video game is unhealthy. I guarantee these guys aren't happy with life.

I'm not quite sure who this person is, whether he is a troll, or really just an immature 15-year-old. He has quite a developed thought process but he also seems to know exactly which buttons to push causing a provocative post, kind of like a troll (hint hint). However from my knowledge trolls in general seem to be older and still immature, often simply angst-filled unhappy people (often mistaken to be younger, yet surprisingly they are most of the time much older). He's either a very clever troll leading me in several directions, or he's an idiot who is simply horrible at trolling. Either way he's adopted a new name from me, asshole.

On a side note, nice post Kyleran, if it was possible I'd love to see him baited into EVE, and somehow he "accidentally" ends up in a <0.4 system..... oh how much fun we could have......

Typical for a punk kid.  GS =/= skill.  You can have 6k gs and pull 7k dps and still be fail, much like you are.  You aren't an elitist lol, you havent played games, let alone wow long enough to be an elitist.  In fact, all the 'bads' you bemoan, well you are one of them because you require gs to dictate what you can or can't accomplish.  Welcome to epic failhood kiddie, it'll be funny when you grow up and take out a huge loan to get the big fancy red sports car and the first chick you take home in it laughs at that little itty bitty thing that you call a 'member'.

    Lenient.

I didn't finish reading, but I'm assuming it's some sob story about how many "bads" that exist in the mmo-universe, and about how you only like to play with with the pool of skilled players that undoubtedly carry you. Though I'm not suggesting that you personally suck, just implying that any raid is useless without a competent core and never relies on one solid player.

    Just saying.

    Yours truly,

    -- A Real Elitist.

no offense for a 15 year old, you sound like a total douchebag. GS system is retarded, its both inaccurate, and completely ungeneralized scoring system that does not take into account, gems, crits, enchants, and other various important aspects that gear has. Not to mention it doesnt take into account a player's knowledge of his class. As someone said in a post, you can ave 6k GS but do crap DPS and still wipe everyone due to mistakes using certain spells at the wrong time as well as not knowing the boss set ups.

Seriously you play after school and weekends? when do you go out and play football, some sort of physical activity. Shouldn't you be outside playing tag or something?? This is why so many kids are becoming obese. At 15 although I had a super nintendo, i was still going outside biking, playing tag, manhunt, handball, basketball, tag football etc, like a kid should.

And frankly I detest the idea that you think your elitist, ha! good one, by playing wow you automatically demote yourself to a semi casual player as the game is almost completely casual, hardly any real hardcore "elitist" encounters. Given how you described yourself, what you do, and how you treat people, you pretty much shown everyone your a total 15 year old douchebag that has alot to learn. Plus with all the addons for Wow, you hardly need to do any thinking, just follow what the addons tell you.

Elitists are probably the worst part of society.   Sure there are things like hobos, druggies, illegal immigrants and mentally challenged people that aren't exactly beneficial society as a whole, but elitists tend to be the worst.  They are ignorant with their arrogance, and corrupt by their own power.  I don't mind people having more power than others, because that's just how humans work, but when people in power segregate themselves from the rest of society, it just makes me sick.

No matter what society I'm in, WoW or the real world, elitists just make me want to punch a whole in the wall.  I hope get syphilis and die.  You dying would help the human race as whole, so that one day the rich and the poor may live in harmony.

    But kudos for being honest.

    This statement is false.

Interesting read. But I miss one word: communication.

I wouldn't call you an elitist, but just exclusive. You act based on arbitrary rules. For most content some communication and teamwork might do as well than just having a certain gearscore level. When you start your working career, you'll have to learn that you can't always assemble your dream team and have to arrange with your current co-workers. Even if you're the boss you can't just exchange employees as you want. And if people within the company hear that you're talking bad about your co-workers that will not get you any laurels.

    Just something to think about.
