Why this thread? The market doesn't care if SOE comes out with another mmorpg.

    -Open player-centric ecosystem environment?

-Fluid zones in a huge world?

    -Compelte player-driven crafting?

    -housing, city & community building?

    -Death penalties and corpse-runs?

    -Dynamic non-tethered mobs?

    -Warring factions?

-Greater content, rewards and resources that can only be had in open pvp lands that contribute to far better materials and items to be player-made?

    -Sandbox?

    -No instances?

The list goes on. SOE screwed up EQII and Vanguard, and the mediocre to minimal player-base proves it,unless it's their intention to be mundane. Why anyone would give SOE ink is beyond me. Perhaps media expectations are as infantile and limited as SOE's ability to deliver a quality product.

Jesus christ most people already stated wanting Eq III but NOT from Soe. Everquest != Soe Everquest = Verant and later Sigil (god I miss this company). Smedley and his greedy bastards would do nothing but harm this game from the get go, meaning instances all over the world, ez-mode, p2p + RMT crap and stupid questdriven gameplay.

This is NOT the Eq3 we're looking for. During beta 2 Vanguard has become so damn close to Eq3 if only Sigil had another publisher and 18 months more. We'd be playing it right now and having some huge fun, great community like back in the gold ol days.

We need a MMORPG Cataclysm asap, finish the dark age of MMORPGS now!

The high hopes people pinned on Vanguard had to do with original Verant people (notably Brad.)

Sorry SOE didn't screw up Vangard, it was a huge mess before they were even involved.

First, this wish list totally blows. The author is clearly ranting without any sense of direction regarding what EQ 3 should be. Second, there's no need for an EQ 3 when what SoE really need to do is to relaunch EQ 2 with a new engine. The current engine is CRAP and the models and armor looks dated and terrible. Out of all the fantasy MMOs out there I can't think of a single game with more crappy and lame looking gear.

I long for "unpredictability" - I find it tedious that your character can have the "wrong" spec and I hate that you go somewhere and are told where to go and what ledge to jump on to..a bit of randomness would be lovely

My wish is just to see an EQ3. Love the content and depth of that game.

Everyone...well not.. everyone..)  A lot of people seem to want an open world experience for the next EQ. I'm fine with that as long as it's packed full of content. I also like the idea of full voice over as well, if we're going for realism, open world mechanics etc.. That's a necessary tool IMO. As when I meet someone, they don't usually hand me a hand written note as a greeting.

What I would personally like to see is something different. I've personally had my fill of typical MMO mechanics, something needs to come out that really shakes things up in terms of gameplay. A lot of what I'm reading just sounds like EQ with new graphics, hey, if you want that, more power to ya! For me that's the last thing I want.

This game will not see the light of day until at least 2012 most likely later than that. That's well over a decade since the original game came out, if this genre hasn't moved past those mechanics by then, there's no hope for it IMO.

Oh Please. "Massively Multiplayer" doesn't mean "Thou Must Do All of Thy Fighting With Others as a Group".  That's one way of playing an MMO.  Another is to interact with other player characters and do your own damn fighting without having to "build a relationship" in order to be assured of having that group to play with.

I like interacting with the other players and I like them affecting the economy and the environment and I like the trading and giving and getting advice, etc.  That doesn't mean I want to be forced to pal around with a group of strangers in order to accomplish anything.  I want to play a game, I don't want to have to spend my time developing relationships before I can play - UNLESS I CHOOSE TO PLAY THAT WAY.

No one's trying to ruin your game or make you conform to anything. sheesh.

Without EQ you would not be playing WoW as your statement depicts.

Well, there isn't much I do not like about EQ2. I am mainly a solo runner who enjoys questing but also enjoys the many many other things you can do in the game if you are just too bored to go kill thjose snakes again. The main thing I want to see is a grafic overhaul to a more CG or reali8sm look even though at high quality EQ2 looks great. I tried to play EQ 1 and well I spit on it. I came too late i guess, sorry. EQ2 is definately not a WOW clone. I have played both and EQ2 is still obove it outside PVP. Happy Gaming all. God go with you.
