Your character has a purpose. In MMORPGs, players are required to "Dream up" A purpose for their character, and games designed like this, offer very little in the way of that.

One of these days Bethesda will release an Oblivion style MMORPG and we'll see the same type of thing. It'll basically be Mortal online/Darkfall with Elder Scrolls plastered on it.

~Miles "Tails" Prower out! Catch me if you can!

Yes, but Bethseda has more devout and loyalist's to its community already. More so than other games for sure. I can assure you if an oblivion form of MMO is to release, mark my words, it will be huge. They have the largest moding community in the world. Just the heads up.

Ok i'm tired of people being misinformed about games.  Just because you want certain things in your game does not mean you will get it.  READ UP ON WHAT YOU ARE GONNA PLAY PLEASE.  The devs have stated over and over again that they wanted to capture the "counterstrike pickup and play."  Something that is repetative and fun from the start.  Yes they are planning more content and yes they are planning chaos districts.  If you take the time get people together and just run around enjoying the style of the game - it really can be intense.

Umm, that was the point. Someone complained it wasn't MMO enough to be an MMO. Err, you ok?

this game is terrible.  i tried beta and it was incredibly repetitive and boring.  grinding mobs over and over again in an mmorpg is more fun lol...

Ok so your not going to buy APB, and people care why ??? If I went on every forum of every game I wasnt going to buy, I would spend the better part of my day bitching about games i wont play.   So you play the game, neither will about 7 billion other people.

  • nAAtimusnAAtimus Member Posts: 342

APB runs better on my PC than GTA4.  That's strictly hardware limitations, but it's nice to know it's not as demanding on my aging parts.

I'm not here to complete my forum PVP dailies.

I agree these classless Trolls keep spamming "I'm not going to buy this game my opinion matters now everyone jump on my Fail train"  No no one will follow what you do and no one cares about you not buying a game or not.

the fact that you can't realize what a fantastic game this is you should stop playing games altogether this game is a great innovative fun game that we all should cherish how dare you now go away.

You're complaining about classless trolls spamming, yet are you not a extremely devoted fanbois who consistently spams that this game is better than sliced bread or something? In my book, trolls and fanbois often fall under the same category: stupidly annoying.

Im not surprised 1 bit most people on this site dont like the game. Its far more shooter then RPG.Theres allways more negative posts on this site in any given thread then positive.Someone new might think people on this site dont even enjoy gaming the way most threads are on this site.

I actually enjoy APB allot and i never really got into grand theft auto very much at all.I never really enjoyed 3rd person shooters much untill now.Its just pure fun the whole time.Theres no grinding on mobs for days on end just to get to the good stuff. You jump in and start pvping and having a blast from the get go.

This. Also the game is more group focused than most of the anti-social MMO gamers on this site would like. Play this game with 3 other friends and its tons of fun. If you're looking for something where you can spend most of your day grinding gear this certainly isn't it.

That said there are weapon balance issues and flaws in the match making system but overall nothing that can't be tweaked/fixed.  The game lives up to all my expectations and at no point was this game mis-represented by RTW. If you thought this game would be any different then you obviously didn't follow it or look into it at all.

Problem is, if you dont have friends, you are still forced to play with others in order to do mission. MMO's dont do that. Because of that, APB is not an mmo, its a commorpg that stand for cooperative mmorpg. It force you to play in a team just like howt hey did guild wars 1.

I think APB will be a good game still for those who like GTA, although I do have to agree  I wish APB did have Serial Rapists in game, and Serial Killers and such. Maybe they will add such in the future of a system where you Murder X Number of people your name goes red, and you get most hunted list by enforcers and such.

As far as game Play wise, I think APB will be good, It depends how much action I get, and stuff, and game play wise if I will actually stay subscribed to APB, If there is a lot of killings, shooting people, really good clothing, not a game based on armors, levels, but an actual game based on those and skill, not something like wow, or Aion, which I got bored of Aion a few months after release, then I may just stay playing APB, because based on their videos it is a great game.

Over all though if you ask me, based on what I have heard, and seen on their videos at the APB website, the game itself could use some of the things described by the Origional Poster, and much more.

The only issue I have with APB is Punk Buster which it downloaded without my consent when I Preloaded the game after Pre Ordering from Steam. There was also no Third Party Agreement to accept, and I did not even know this game used such, or I probabily wouldn't have ordered it. I dont like Root Kits monitoring my Private PC and scanning my files );.

Also Just a note for those trying to Pre Order from steam having issues, check this out.

The game is not for everyone. For example, I and three of my friends are in the current "open beta" event. When we received our additional time to play, one of my friends preferred to play his WoW because he needed to get his fishing level up.

    WTF???

I was in the beta before my friends started playing and I had a blast. I still can't wait to get home from work so I can spend an hour or so in game. It is the most fun "MMO" I have ever played.

That is not true, you can play alone just fine.

Who are you to say this? Also, most of my online friends do not own an Xbox. I know this as I have known them for nine years this july. We are hardcore PC gamers who have played FPS, TPS, RTS, MMOs, and all other sorts of games that either fit or don't fit into a particular genre. I put MMO in quotations because I too do not call this an MMO but many try to compare it to MMOs.

My friends and I currently play CoD5, BF: BC2, AoC, WoW, and a few others and most of us are pretty excited about this game. Some love spending time in the social district just as much as they do in the action district.

So I would say that we are not worthless xbox freaks, just that you are another worthless MMORPG.com elitist.

Yes they will, you know why? Because whether you want to call it an MMO or a shooter or kool-aid or whatever, the game is fun enough to a lot of people to justify $10 a month. I'm one of those people. If you like BF:BC2 better then by all means have at it man. No one's forcing you to play APB.

    SSooooo cool , no really

I though that mmorpg thing is about interaction with other players....Now if game make you to interact is not proper RPG...

    jeeezzz

    BTW about monthly fee ...

FIRST-if that would be f2p you would have to PAY for all that amazing customization options . Now they did it other way around. Social, Customisation FREE shooting pay to play. IF in the future  they add more content for free

    IAM fine with that

SECOND- You can sell you crafted cloths tattoos Cars for game currency and  us that for your shooting time. Great Crafting option

THIRD- You can pay fo game time so its better than wow option where you pay playing or not

FORTH- yep you dont play for mutiplayer option in mainstream shooters. BUT this works both ways ...Why we have to pay monthly fee for MMORPgs? and extra for additional upgrade? with UFC i get all level up content i play with other players for 2 years with standard price

MMORPG are ripoffs that is why all big dev and publishers making them.....And we really if we love mmorpgs have no choice

no one will pay montly for that game i can sign to that!

the game is interesting as a 1-3 month experience nothing more its a "beta" release after all meaning that there will need tones of patches to make it balanced and i prefer to buy a complete game rather paying the "fixes" per month, just complete it and come again! gj at trying tho , hopefully the developers will got the message that people dont want to pay for every single online game there is...

Actually the more crime you commit and people you kill causes your notoriety to go up. Once that hits 5 you're an open target for everyone. Now if you have really high notoriety  like 4 stars, the other team will get missions to capture or kill you and you have to escape. So that system actually already exists.

Action never stops in the game, once one mission is done, someone else is calling for backup, or there is another mission to tag an area or steal something, it's like a marathon. In fact I found myself leaving groups just to get a minute to buy new weapons and whatnot. It's crazy!
