You can NOT compare Darkfall at release to the pile of steaming crap the MO is at the moment. Good god! Seriously were do you get the idea of that from? Not from reality that is for sure.

Re Darkfall one month after release:  I wait in the queue an average of two hours every time.  It doesn’t matter what time of day I try to log in – 5am in the morning or 10pm at night – it’s always this bad;  I’m also bound away from newbie zones.  People are hopping in the queue before they go to work and coming home with it ready for them to play.  Players getting disconnected are faced with sitting in the queue all over again.  The game has a few issues with CTD’s (I’ve crashed maybe a total of 5 times since the 26th of February, not bad but others are worse) and these lead to sitting in the queue again.   At least do what Mythic and Blizzard (I think?) do and allow a buffer for you to log back in.

Being unable to purchase accounts and spending hours in queue to start playing after you do manage to get an account is not "absolutely fine". It's never taken me more than 2 minutes to get logged into MO

Poor mob AI lead to high-end mobs being exploited for many months, that's a huge problem DFO had.

Memory leaks, some people's characters deleted,  massive queues for a long time, trouble buying the game.

    LOL!

Darkfall was absolutely fine at release my @$$!

I was in Beta and one of the few (first 1k) who was able to get the game at release and I played it for 3 months after.

Im guessing Saorlan forgot the DeSync issues (though props to Aventurine for fixing them in only 4 days after release) and the 3 hr Log-in Queues as well as the Full BindStone issue and the Disappearing Banked Items.

There was also a serious memory leak (much like the one in Saorlans head) that caused CTDs after 15-30 min of play only to throw you right back into the 3 hr queue.

There were also tons of small annoying bugs that plagued that game.

Im not saying MO doesnt have issues and problems, but to say that its any worse than Darkfall is BS.

SV Devs seem to be doing quite well (for such a small Indie team) in fixing the problems in MO.

You like DFO better thats fine. Do play it. But dont come in here and make up lies and hyperbole about MO just because you are a MO hater and a DFO fanbot.

I absolutely cant stand DFO, but Im not over in their forums bashing that game and trying to make MO look any better than it is.

So which is worse at launch?

    Darkfall:

5 hour queues to get in

Most of the game was complete, other than sieges (you know, spells and books actually had descriptions?)

    Mortal Online:

No queue (does not help as they cant keep their servers online)

    Broken / Incomplete

If the skills are called horseback riding or healing, do you then really need a discription?

    Yep, it is.

People complaining about little things annoy me much more

Also, you are wrong, it doesn't say spell or book unavailable, it says spell or book description unavailable, please stay coherent

Hi there and welcome to the MMORPG.COM forums!  Always glad to have a new person around.  Anyhow, some friendly advice:  People come in all shapes and sizes.  What one person finds interesting, another person finds annoying.  My advice is to stick to posting about the games on the site and not the other posters. If you really dislike what another poster is saying you can always use the ignore feature so you won't have to see tham!

    Anyhow, welcome aboard!

How can you understand a discussion if you ignore half the posts? Is it like skipping opinions you don't like?

That's a question you will have to answer for yourself.  If you really dislike the community perhaps it's not the place for you.  I would give it time though and simply filter out those who's complaining annoys you.  Give it a shot, maybe it will help!

It was your "friendly" advice to ignore them, so I kinda thought you would know how it works.

You often advice people to do stuff when you don't know how it works out?

I never said I dislike the community

    Let's see.....

Stare at the login screen for 5 hours, or play for 5 hours and have the server go down once or twice for about 5 minutes each time,  Seems like a no brainer to me.

I'll chose the game with a waiting queue at launch any time. At least there'll be more chances I won't be alone on the server after the 1st month runs out.

Of course there'll be no queue for a broken game no one wants to play.

I won't read the whole thread, but the community (the newcomers) is horrible. Those that were clearly around during beta are mostly very helpful players.

With that, I took the DF trial and bought MO. First off, MO was a waste of money :( DF I skipped because I didn't like the 1st/3rd look change when grabbing the weapon. But aside from that, I agree with the title of this topic.

I never said I dislike the community

It works by clicking the BLOCK button.  SImple enough.  How it works out... is of course up to your personal tastes.  I can't tell you that you would like it any more than I could tell you that you would like Pistachio icecream.

As far as the community you stated that you would have to "ignore half the posts".  So if "half the posts" are annoying you very much, it might be proper to question whether or not it's worth the annoyance.  Honestly.. since you are just starting out here I will give you some more advice:  Try and stay focused on game issues.  People can come and go.. and they all have their own opinions.  Complaining that someone on the internet doesn't feel the same way as you... tends to be pointless.  As does complaining about other posters complaining.

Again though.. this is a great place and community.  Give it time, and use the tools provided to tailor your experience to be more enjoyable!  Hope to see you around for a long time!
