I'm not gonna get too freaked out by how low my rig ran the benchmark (2200 on low, 1800 on high), because if I can run AoC and Aion on just about max settings, I think I'll be fine.
AMD dual core 2.7ghz
4gigs of ram
ATI 4850 1gig card
Western Digital Caviar Black 640GB HD
My PC is fine!

Now here are a few problems I have with this benchmark :
a) I had to turn of my 9800GT, because it seems that starting from Just Cause 2 Nvidia games will try to use GeFroce cards in them EVEN if they're not connected to the monitor 0_o.
b) WHY does it run in WINDOW mode ??? such a trick to lower the scores >_<
c) WHERE is crossfire support ? my second card didn't kick in at all. Hopefully we'll get it in the full release
P.S. ordered my collectors edition today at amazon W00000T
I was in the Alpha phase and now in the Beta of FFXIV
and the Benchmark is **** for now
I dont even meet system requirement for LOW, and i've been playing in the Alpha without too much problems (benchmark gives me 950 score on LOW lol)
just gets harder on crowded areas, but still very playable, so for those that gets 2.5k on High, i wouldnt be worried at all
oh and by personal experience with the game, FFXIV is more GPU dependant than CPU dependant (my CPU is the part that doesnt meet low requirements, a simple Geforce 9500 GT 1024mb was more than enough to run the game on LOW)
A low priced HD 5770 (no need crossfire) will run the HIGH pretty good
I've got a spare 8800 GTS 640mb EVGA GPU if anyone is interested in it...would be willing to part with it for say $70. I used it for about a year then upgraded to the GTX 275, and its still in perfect working condition, and has been packaged away in its box for the past year.
Scored in the 1800's on low when the benchmark came out with a phenom ii x2 @ 3.1 ghz. I just unlocked this thing to a quad core and now my score is 3472. Did they update this benchmark or was i just seeing the increased performance?
Nice test, was wondering why my score of 4880 was alot lower than yours, so the demo at least is very CPU dependant. I only run my 920 at stock speeds, so I guess if the game stays the same, its time to release some of its power.
it's not CPU dependent. Or rather the CPU is not the main force driving it. The GPU is. I'm running the benchmark on an i7 920 stock clock CPU with 4GB of DDR3 RAM and a 9800 GT video card and I'm getting somewhere around a 1700 score.
On the low setting, I've gotten about 3068 score.
I believe that the official benchmark doesn't even utilize more than 1 core because, at most, it has used about 25% of my CPU and about 50% of my RAM.
ATI Phenomenah II 3,2 ghz x6, 8gb DDR3 1600, 480 GTX and W7 64 bits.
I will do some optimization but it seems like it isn't using all the 6 cores. I will try to tweak out some more of it.
Seems like I will be able to run it ok but I was hoping for more, can max AoC in Dx 10. And the GFX cards fans doesn't even start to run fast on low (it does on high).
I figure, I'll play the game for 6 months on my PC. See how it handles through that time. If it is below my expectations, then I will gladly go pick up the PS3 copy when it launches and boom, happy gamer and less money spent on a PC I had built 3 years ago that I've upgraded everything except the processor.
I just don't want to upgrade it anymore. Might as well start saving for a new PC within the next 2 years if anything, for me personally.
Its true that for those QQing, u could just wait for the PS3 release and buy a PS3, will come up cheaper than building a new comp, if you need to buy more than the GPU
I have a pretty badass PC if I do say so myself....and they say the best score is over 8000?! wth do you have to have to score that high??!! hahahahaha
BTW the benchmark is BEAUTIFUL!!
Only that is enought for me to not trust the benchmark, but anyway im curious, gonna run it.
My rig is similar and came out with same results, i am nto convinced its totally accurate since it eats everything else I play without barely breaking a sweat,
Yeah but I'm gonna build a new rig next year. I do think that the benchmark may have the settings on high for both the High Res and Low Res test. Anyways pretty good graphics even on the Low Res test definitely worth my money
Just to confirm this benchmark's GPU relaince, I just upgraded my 9800gt to an HD5850; saw my score shoot up from 1780 to 3881 on high. Looks breathtakingly gorgeous now as well.

You guys should stop the "panic mode"

Your graphics card, as long as you upgrade to an nVidia 8800, 9800, 250 + or the ATI equavalent you should be able to play

It definitely uses more than 1 core, at any given time during the benchmark all 4 cores were under load. Sometimes as high as 75%.
Score: 4038
Geek stuff:
i7 920 OC @ 4.0ghz
Gfx card: 5850 OCed (forgot to what, I flashed the BIOs a long time ago)
12 GB RAM @ (forgot speed and timings).
I will probably throw in another 5850 if I have enough cash. Dunno if this game supports 2 GPUs though.
Guess I'll see you guys online =D
Oh, obviously, this was on high.
Rig: Quad CPU Q9650 @ 3ghz , 4GB DDR3 ram, and two GeForce GTX 295
Benchmark Score: Low 3780 High 2352
Guess it's time to put in an i7?
My theme song.
Maybe I have a different benchmark tool then because when I have it running, I'm showing my CPU at 26% use at the highest.
Hmpf, 4346 on low, 3925 on high.
ATI Phenomenah II 3,2 ghz x6, 8gb DDR3 1600, 480 GTX and W7 64 bits.

I had no idea this was out! Just downloaded it, and ran both low and high.
Q9650 o/c @ 4ghz, 4 gigs ram, ATI 5870 (stock)

Just downloaded the benchmark and here are my score
High Res - 1474
Low Res - 2559
loading time - 12180ms
My rig is:
Q6600 - 2.4Ghz
4GB 800 Mhz RAM
9800GT 1GB
Win7 64bit
Probably gonna play this on low then I'll move to high settings once I upgrade my rig.
My rig is similar and came out with same results, i am nto convinced its totally accurate since it eats everything else I play without barely breaking a sweat,
worse case just got another 9800 and SLI it

2500 on high with
i7 920 - OC'd to 3.6ghz
GTX 260 - 216 core
6 gigs of tri-chan ram.
I'm not entirely convinced by this benchmark to be honest with you guys.
Your score sounds about right.
Just to confirm this benchmark's GPU relaince, I just upgraded my 9800gt to an HD5850; saw my score shoot up from 1780 to 3881 on high. Looks breathtakingly gorgeous now as well.
