Overall positive and fairly in-depth given that its still some time off. The problems as they are according to the reviewer aren't a cause for concern. Nice.

This is a wonderful write up examplign just what GW is beign to the table in terms of combat abilities and questing.

Its fun to hear that Arenanet delivers what it promises while in another post someone without handson experience is stating the opposite...

Best MMO experiences : EQ(PvE), DAoC(PvP), WoW(total package) LOTRO (worldfeel) GW2 (Artstyle and animations and worlddesign) SWTOR (Story immersion) TSW (story) ESO (character advancement)

No crap right,  I love how i am some how defending GW@ when if you look back like a month youll see that i was an enemy (i am a enemy of assumption, untruth, and illrational/falacious agruments. No matter what side they come from.) Half the time you can't poitn them out without a 5 day long post war facing the same number of equally poor or not applicable agurments.

Such as this one GW2 will be bad cuz i has chezzburger.

I'm just happy to hear that Anet lived up to their promises, even before the game is in beta. I'm glad Anet did not tarnish their reputation on delivering what they promised. Seems like we have one gaming company that does know what they are doing, and does not promise what they can't deliver.

Also casters will be less static then we know, i saw a caster move around in a video while casting spells.

I noticed that too, but only using one of the spells, I wonder if that was the "auto attack" I really haven't had the chance to dissect the combat yet.  I did see a lot of the skills being used be static though,  but even in the charr video I'm pretty sure I saw him move using his basic attack.  It would be great to attack on the fly,  but with the way positional combat would be,  I don't think we'll see a ton of moves being cast whilst moving.

    Nice one.

That review didn't really tackle any of the major issues with gw2 so far. It is a fluff piece, and anyone that can't see that well... i have a bridge to sell you. And the "promises" that anet delivers on based on that review aren't the major ones of concern. No quest text? Who cares that isn't a major issue.

Who cares, its your opinion.....  In my opinion they have delivered what they promised, and so the reviewer agrees.

And so far concerned to me there are no major issues with GW2's gamedesign, its perfect for casual players that just want a few hours of fun every night.

That skill looked like Flare to me, but Flare had no recharge in GW1. I'm all for run-n-gun spells, but a run-n-gun Mesmer would be awesome / horrible

Your opinion = YOUR opinion, not everyone elses. It may be unimportant to you (though likely as usual youre just looking for any and everything to complain about), but that does not mean it is unimportant to 99.99% of other MMO players. I find it funny too that every time any info, video, article, review/preview is released you're always "well that didnt cover this and this and this" as if you expect every single one to cover every detail of the entire game. The info is coming in bits and pieces, not 1 great big guide fo the entire game. So please stop the complaining about what they do and dont talk about every article, and stop spouting your own personal opinions of what YOU want the game to be as fact or the opinion of everyone.

Frankly the writer of the review sounds bored to death .. to me. Unfortunately for me once I heard there was no open field combat...or faction conflict...I lost any interest.I had hoped to learn something new  and encouraging from the article.Didn't happen.

Thanks for the link, great read. I'll admit I'm getting pretty excited for this.

Good read thanks for the link!   I just want to know more about Norn and their shapeshifting abilities.  I loved feral Druid in WoW.

True, if you want FFA PvP or faction PvP, GW2 won't have it.

Instead, you have World vs World PvP, your world server battling against 2 other world servers over the control of a number of areas, every week 2 different ones. With keeps that can be owned by guilds, settlements, mines and strongholds to conquer and defend, caravans between your mines and castles to be protected, and where as the devs' statements go, forces of 500+ on each of the 3 sides should be no problem.

Of course, it has to be seen in action before a final judgement if it is as good as they say, but it sure sounds like fun on a casual and strategic level, to me more than the FFA PvP and faction PvP I've seen so far in MMO's (with the exceptions of Planetside, and EVE Online).

The game does look rather promissing.  It's one of several that i'm currently holding out some hope for.  Between this one, TOR, Final Fantasy, The Secret World, Rift, and Tera... hopefully one of them will be worth playing!

If you mean open world PvP so no, that wont be included. PvP will have special zones, arenas and battlegrounds.

Faction combat is supposed to be in, at least race vs race and server vs server together with the usual guild vs guild (probably a sieging of the other guilds guildhouse as in the first game). As far as I know will there not be any other kind of faction combat.

If you want ganking or open world PvP you should probably look for CCPs World of darkness online instead, it will be somewhat more PvP focused even if I don't doubt that GW2s PvP will be fun and different in it's own way.

I'm not so sure - I think a lot of moves will be usable while moving (besides ones that need stillness to remain balanced, etc).  In the main showcase they explained that you will be able to actively dodge attacks and such, so being able to launch them while moving often seems fairly reasonable imo.

They've also mentioned in a few of the videos that you can assign any spell to your auto attack (left click), so more likely that fire spell they were casting in the video was a normal spell.

I would add a few other games to the list like WoDO and Copernicus and also the hope that at least 2 of them are worth playing. :)

For the last few years have my list only had one possibly game a year so things look better than usual so far, I am happy enough if one is good but it is really looking good so far. I am somewhat careful with TOR and optimistic about GW2 from what I seen so far, TOR seems to be a little too much of a solo game for my taste.

Too little info on WoDO and Copernicus to make my list... yet.

As for TOR, that's pretty much my safest bet.  If nothing else, it'll be KOTOR III with a chat room :p  Yes, that will upset a few people who like to call themselves "hardcore", but I'm fine with that.

All in all, things are looking good for the mmo community as a whole, regardless of what the crying/whining/bitching loudmouth bastards that can't seem to shut up on these forums would have you believe.

I haven't been an active poster on these  forums for verry long, but I have been a reader for a bit. RobertDinh, imo, is a troller and nothing else. Not a verry good one either. He doesn't even have facts and the last one I was reading was one he started and he really wasn't doing well with his points. I don't play the flame wars really but just thought I'd point out that he has been noticed. Anyways he mentioned it not tacklen any of the major issues when I think It mentions some of the things the dev are sayen are there so I'll take a hands on opinion over a trolls any day of the week. Whatever "issues" he is talking about I am sure are just his own and he will never be satisfied with anything they say or show. Its sad really.
