lol I think this thread is directly addressing people like ghed. People assume when people notice issues with a game it means they are haters. I just think the lag issues are horrid, and i don't think it has anything to do with the amount of people. I think it has more to do with the coding at this point. My rig is on the upper end of a mid range system and I have a 5 mbps connection and it still runs like crap. I honestly think the issue is that it isn't programmed to run with win 7 64-bit. I posted that I was getting lag issues on another thread and I must have had at least 5 people get angry at me. Because I had a valid issue with the game, which I didn't post in an angry or hateful way, I had people telling me how I was a hater and attacking me because of that. Everyone raves about the FF community being this really tight knit group but I think they are just as bad as the WoW group, While WoW has immaturity FF has hardcore elitists. I don't see this ever being resolved. Somehow people associate their ego's with the online games they play, as if their success in a video game somehow gives them an ability to troll forums and call people newbs. All I can say is that I wish they would dissapear, but until then people like Ghed do give me plenty of lawls.
That's not the problem, since it runs (performance wise) superbly on my middle-of-the-range Win 7 64-bit system. I do get the occassional crash though, especially during levequests.
It is truly sickening, some of the comments I see around here as of late. Some people here really think their shit smells like roses. When someone points out the obvious flaws of the game they are quickly shot down with condenscending attitudes. When someone points out the UI being to overcomplicated and tedious, some people here shoot back saying that he/she's to casual and needs to 'go back to WoW'. I don't know if its serious or if its trolling, but it pisses me the hell off.
and then all these people get on here just to bitch about how they dont like a ui because blizzard didnt make it, or htey dont like controls because they arent wows setup. and o god how they hate to be challenged to debate rather then having everyone grovel and snivel around them.
I am certainly glad you are setting an example and opening up a healthy debate! Who wouldn't want to have a conversation about the merits of a game on a website where games are discussed and rated with gems such as yourself. There is no better way to say "Hey, I don't agree with your point but I certainly respect it" then by saying how they are just WoW fanatics and expect people to grovel and snivel around them.
I don't like WoW at all, but I certainly think that with 11 million people playing and it running for almost a decade, it certainly has done something that other companies should be looking at. I don't think FF should be a WoW clone, I like that they did things different. I like the art style. I even like that they are doing things to make the leveling happen at a somewhat controlled rate instead of just making more grinds. With that said, I do think this game has serious flaws that extend beyond the argument of "This is a beta!" the coding needs work, the UI may not need to be changed but with how many people are complaining I think that it wouldn't hurt to have the developers at least look at streamlining it, or putting customizable UI's into place. I don't hate the game at all, I think it shows a lot of promise, but it needs work. They should never have rushed it this badly because it shows.
Before you all start bashing me, I plan on buying the game when it comes out. All I have to say is, so far my experience with the beta has been horrible. First of I have only played for around 5 hours. Every time I try to play it seems the Client sucks B***S, I can never log into the servers when I have the time. Wish I had more time to try it out, but it pisses you off sometimes. Sony can make a better stable game then this, its just sad.
They should just push the release back more, and fix more of this crap. This might just be like Vanguared.........
