I guess this is about as realistic as LOTRO but at least Lord of the Rings is genuinely a "good book" rather than the crazy spoutings of the members of a subsidiary to the Jewish faith.
Hell of a lot less interesting than LOTRO and if it can only be accessed in NA than I am bloody glad I am in the UK. I would consider it if I could play a Atheist Scientist Class. I would call myself Dawkins and just run around pointing and laughing at people that have invisible friends.
Do a game about the Greek or Norse deities. At least they were interesting and just as real as the ones belonging to any other religion (ie not real).
If I have offended any religious people with this post feel free to flame me by PM because

What will they think of next? The Koran Online? A Bhagvad gita mmo? Holly Vishnu!!!! I would like to see a game based on the Super Best Freinds from South Park. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sSwG6MfiSqw
Actually I think Deepak Chopra and his son are/were working on a Bhagavad Gita MMO.

Drop the next-gen marketing and people will argue if the game itself has merit.

Yeah, I don't see how this is an MMO. Does look like an interesting little RTS game with a chat box. I also don't think their target audience is the general public.
In the beginning, God created the lulz and the Internets. The internets were without form, and void, and darkness was upon the face of the camwhore: and the spirit of God destroyed Oclet's liver.
And God said: "LET THERE BE LIGHT!" And there was light. And God saw that the light was good, for the Light was too bright and prevented even Him from seeing the Fat of the Camwhore.
And God created a firmament in the midst of the internets, to divide the interbutts from the internets; and He called the firmament Usenet.
And God said, "Let all the failures of the internet be gathered together into one place, and let them spam that place relentlessly." And it was so.
And God said, "Let forums multiply, and be fruitful, and fill the internets with their drama." And it was so.
And God said, "Let all manner of fucktards write on LiveJournal; and let them multiply, and be fruitful." And fucktards came forth in all manner of communities, and warred with each other relentlessly; and lo, some multiplied, and others didn't, according to their kinds.
And God saw that it was funny, and lo! He lolled.
When did you start playing "old school" MMO's. World Of Warcraft?
This is most assuredly NOT an MMO. It's a cheap, browser-based knock-off of CIV. The concept has some merits IMHO but this game is far from what it could be and judging by the very new forums and the few comments found there, and the overall quantity and quality of the website itself, I'd say this Beta should be Alpha and that's being very generous.
My first thoughts as I looked over the website was that a bunch of guys in a living room somewhere in the Middle East (judging by the grammar and spelling errors and the fact that it is not being offered in the west currently) got together and decided to make their own game. During the 'brain-storming' session that followed, someone suggested making it browser-based, throw in a community chat, allow tribes to interact to a degree, and call it an MMO, at which point everyone got really excited and threw in a cash-shop suggestion so that they could all get rich (there is a 'Shop' tab in the upper right corner of the main bar in all of the screenshots).
What a shame. When I read the title, I really thought this idea just might work, especially in the Old Testament. Ah well.
Eh, sounds interesting, but doesn't sound like MMO material. Some are jus some titles really shouldn't be an MMO. If you know what I mean. This is definitely one of them. Not to sound offensive, but a Bible MMO sounds boring as crap.
But that's just my opinion they made, and if they can make money of it. They can knock themselves out.
I live in the USA and have not been motivated to even try to look at the game.
Yes, the old testament is historical fact, and many of the towns, cities, and places that archeologists thought were fiction are now being unearthed, with some exciting finds, by the way.
In a nut shell the Old Testament is history, the story of man's struggles, sins, and mistakes, and God's direction in their lives to make them and their posterity better people.
There was a great deal of horrible acts carried out during those many years, yet, some people rose to greatness, but during this time their thought processes are revealed, along with weaknesses, and hard decisions that had to be made.
I do not think a game of this sort would be a success. Too many adults and older teenagers want violence, so that would leave children out.
How would the game creators provide the multitude of different characters and personalities? What timeline would be followed, would accurate accounts of foreign powers that attacked and demolished most of the Israeli nation be accurately portrayed?
After the death of Christ would the power grabbing murdering leadership in the "church" be accurately portrayed?
It looks like a can of worms to me, and by the reports here there seems to be very little dedication to accuracy, foibles and purpose of human kind and God's intent, good character, hard work, caring for our fellow man in a troubled and violent world, and knowledge of who God is, a person of great power and intellect that wants to love and be loved.
Would such a game be accepted by all? No. I am concerned that either some misguided "Christians" may be behind this or liberals, or some other group of people that are out to make trouble. If the "game" ever gets off of the ground may be we will eventually find out who is behind it and why.
And, to atheists, I hold no animosity against them for their belief, it is a God given right to be an indepentent thinker. I do challenge them, however, to spend time alone with the New King James version of the Bible and honestly challenge God to show them the truth. Read and study they entire bible, always praying to God, challenging Him to show them the truth. Starting out to disprove or debunk the Bible is OK, I just ask that they have an open mind and diligently search for the truth.
A short note on discrepancies in the Bible, some are from inaccurate translations, many are simply written from different view points and different recollections. One person could remember a sequence of events while another remembered the sequence slightly different and one can remember parts and forgotten some, while the other person recalled some of what the other forgot. It is called being human. The story is not contradictory, it is simply a story seen from different viewpoints and recollections.
The following is not in a biblical perspective, yet valid of human beings.
In the military, often after a protracted battle when an after action report would be written about a heavy engagement with enemy forces, reports will be given differently from different soldiers. It was the same engagement experienced by different troops with a position that yielded the truth as they saw it. This is not to say most of the men lied because everyone did not tell, word for word, the same story. They told the truth because their perspective was different; also, some could have forgotten some specifics that another remembered. If their report was taken in it's entirety a better picture could be formed than if only one story was decided to be the only one that mattered.
Again, that was not in a biblical context, just an example of different perspectives and why people see the same event and have different accounts.
Please disregard any misspelling and grammar; it is after 1:00 A.M. here.

Its an MMO, using the Bible, but its not religious. The bible as fiction, not the bible as a holy book.

"Players get the opportunity to reenact the good book in The Bible Online."
reenact? The content of the Bible is factual?
good book? Was the writer a fanboy re the Intellectual Property.
Oh I see, you allow developers or marketing to post their own previews etc, or you were too bone lazy to use your own judgement.

"reenact the good book",
As both the historiscity of and value of the Bible is questionable. This statment reflects poorly on the Author and the website.
Did the Author write this themselves or just copy a press release from an evangelical game company? Are they PR staff for the game company.
I strongly suggest to the administrators of this site that the Author be banned and the IP address blocked.
Wrong!!! It has a 3- day cd T_T hahahaha
Think im gonna go troll the game with my atheism.
