20+ minute queues on every server

silkakcsilkakc Member UncommonPosts: 381

What the heck?! I tried every server and the waiting lines range from 300-1000 people!

This ain't good:( It'll make the old players mad and the new players frustrated:(

I would probably add that paying (subscription) customers don't have to wait that long.

small condolence but at least people will realize that those lines aren't happening for everyone.

Still, I can understand the frustration.

Indeed, I am at about 19 mins left to get in (VIP), maybe 1-2 more servers wouldn't be a bad idea XD

Its to be expected when something new comes out to play with. Give it a few weeks and those who are playing just to see it will be gone and the servers will be back to normal.

They'll probably add another server or two. I don't think anyone was expecting it to be so popular so quickly. This is good news though, frustrating for now perhaps but good news in the long run. So be happy! Turbine is getting money or will be. Content will be quick and nice now plus tons of people to play with!

Yeah, right now I've got an estimated wait time of over an hour. It wasn't like that a couple days ago. I guess more people are giving it a try.

I have 80 minutes left in my queue and I'm VIP.  Guess Riddermark was the wrong server to choose)

My longest Que as a VIP was about 3 minutes on Landroval.

I am guessing it is worse off on the newer servers though.

Fifty seven minutes to go on Silverlode. Think this has anything to do with gold farmers? I'm hoping it's just real players checking out the game...

I'm a premium player (pay as you go quests etcs.) and I had 1000 player wait on Brandywine. Fun very populated awesome server though. It took about 30 minutes to get in. Always had a minor wait with the server though. Game has had sucha  healthy population on the lower levels thus far.

Well, simply put, your wrong; trust me.  Lotro was second behind Aion in NA for subs, and now the player base is exploding because of f2p, the demand is there, it's a good game.

I don't know how all of you are having bad luck with the queue, I only have a premium account and I've never had to wait to login to Riddermark.

all are at 50min wait + now ... sundays were the worst for DDO also in the first month ,  i expected to not be able to log in on weekends for the first month of open F2P .

Ive only seen 1  gold farmer team in game so far that was last nite and the gold farmer team was glitched , lotro bot protection/poor coded bot prog. , i dont knoe which . the whole team was running in a loop around a tree.

The GM's are generally really good about messing with the bots. I've seen bots teleported off to some far away place only to sit there for there rest of there lifes on a empty plain of nothing.

I've seen GM's spawn monsters that where indestructable to kill of the bots before they where banned. I've seen them even go as far as to pick the bot characters up off the ground way high into the air and just drop them and watch them die on the ground.

They just generally do a great job of staying on top of them and taking care of business.

Could have been roleplayers, just saying ^^.

But yeah crazy queues on all servers, saw the same in warhammer though and we all know how that ended. Damn i really don't want to be the guy having to decide wether to add new servers or not ...

Though with all the comparsions with DDO people forget that you can't really compare the games. DDO with all respect to its players is just unbelievable geeky, with some shoddy graphics imho, it also has some weird 1d5 + 2 values and weird character stats on ... things ... that only someone who played P&P RPG could possibly understand. Those weird ideas about controls and stuff(like the strange way close combat works or how you don't regain mana as a caster) don't exactly help either. Don't want to diss that game really, but its not exactly mainstream.

So yeah i expect an orders of magnitude bigger success for LotRO than DDO ever saw, but then again im usually wrong about things like that.

Been playing the game since release and never saw a que like this even at release. It started at 70 min, jumped to 48 10 secs later, then went to 24 held steady there for a minute, jumped to 17, then 8 then logged in. Total wait time maybe 2 -3 minutes or so for VIP.

Business wise this was a definite success.

I play on Landroval, never had more than a 3 minute wait.  I'm VIP though, so maybe I get scooted up in line? :)

  • mCalvertmCalvert Member CommonPosts: 1,283

What I dont get is why it doesn tell you the wait time before choosing a server, and why any toon cant logon to any server. WHy does it matter logically which server your character is on? Why not just move people logging in to the least active server and maintain chat, auctions, etc as global on all servers.

Basically you have logically one large world, although physically one or another servers may be serving you data. Similar to EVE or darkfall. Lots of servers. but it appears as though there is only one.

That's so cool. I hate the bots. Just got in too. It took less than 15 mins - not 57.

Just got onto my server immediately.  However, I do have a VIP account, and it isn't one of the newer servers.

  • MuridanMuridan Member Posts: 94

I play on Landroval and as I type this I am #50 in the que with a wait time of >3 minutes...wondering where all these alleged 20 minute waits are....

Re: Server Issues: September 12 Discussion Thread (Official Turbine Thread)

The reason you're seeing queues is because we've capped the server populations to prevent the performance issues we were having earlier today/last night. We're sorry to those of you that are stuck waiting, but the flipside would be that you and everyone else would be in an unplayable version of the game. As soon as we fix the root problem, which we are working hard to do, the queue times will be drastically reduced.

Thanks for your patience everyone - we really appreciate it.
