Why Square Enix, why?

I bought the CE because Squaresoft - Square-Enix made so many good games such as FFIV VI VII IX X XII and even XIII that was fun, Dragon Quest, Secret of Mana, Chrono Trigger etc etc...
I thought that they were going to add awesome things in the retail version.
But now I feel like Square Enix used my faith to make money.
I can't believe Square Enix made that, so I've been trying hard to like the game since the CE launch.
But the truth is... this game is horrible. Throwing 65$ out of the window would have been the same.
Anyone else feels like he was scammed by Square Enix?

(Edit) What made you think it would be like those offline games anyway? In my mind the comparison would be FFXI.
I think the mods should merge all of these threads into one big I don't like FF14. We get a new one of these ever 10 mins or so.

ionly thing thats wrong is the servers are bit laggy the rest is just taste But the game still needs work

Yes, this is getting rather old now. Also comparing a Final Fantasy MMORPG to its Offline counter parts doesn't seem fair.
What numbers? This site and their members is hardly a good indicator of well..... anything.
Anyone else feel that this forum has become a support group for people who don't like the game and don't want to like the game?
are you new to mmo's or something? Why would you blindly buy ESPECIALLY the CE without either playing the beta, reading reviews of the beta. OR HELL you based it off all the console games and not even final fantasy 11 technically this games 1.0?!?!

I can't play because there is too much lag. It's simply not fun at all.
I died 3 times because a monster was hitting me when I couldn't hit.
It looks like there is no endgame at all. Leveling a virtual character to 50 doesn't even look good in a resume.
The UI is a gamebreaker, too much lag.

He was using a good/bad scale.
He thinks that most other Square/Enix games were good. He thinks FFXIV is bad.
And it looks like overall he's a Square/Enix fan. A pretty serious one too. He has just been disappointed with this particular game of theirs. I don't think it's unfair to anyone or anything that he feels that way.
At first, I said as a joke that some people around here are paid of, employed by or maybe lunatics fans who realy could find this product enjoyable....Now I am certain of it. People, it's like buying a new car...some will try to fool you and sell it to you without testing it out, doing false advertising (which is treated as a contravention by the law and punished severly). Some will fall for it and some will not. To put an end to all this, I sugest that SE should launch a trial asap and let buyers to try it and buy if they like...if not, than people who got owned by the false advertising should sew this company for it.
Yeah. I was led to believe that sites like these were driven to support and discuss the MMO's that we play and love. Scary that this isn't the case...
This wrecked Vanguard hard in the beginning. People ended up just slamming the game over and over and over again on various sites that were far less moderated than official forums. Not that Vanguard didn't deserve it.

I agree I have yet to see this level of hatred towards this game on any other forum. The shear stupidity that is being displayed here is a shame.

I have been seeing a lot of "I bought FF14 blindly, invested in new PC/CE edition etc., and now I'm disappointed" Why don't people do ANY research when buying a video game?
I guess it would be ok if you can easily spend hundreds or thousands of dollars on video games every month. Dumb consumers aren't going to get any help or sympathy from me though. Not talking about opinions on if a game is good or not either. Talking about if someone actually bothered to see if they would personally enjoy the product and use it before buying it.

Still a weak comparison. Would you think the same if he compared say Super Mario Brother series to Paper Mario or Super Mario RPG? They are for diiferent audiences. And they are only linked in name.

No official forums is actually one of the things I like about this game and I don't know how that could be considered game breaking anyways.

I think that because he was such a fan of SE before this game, he just felt more let down than normal. He was hoping for quality based on previous releases and he felt like it didn't come close to his expectations.
If you were around for Vanguard's release, you would understand why it can be an awful thing for an MMO launch. You may get to experience why it's a bad decision this time around as well.
Majority of the reasons the OP gave seem to be Computer / Internet problems, misunderstanding and just not giving the game a chance. It's like the large majority of these complainers turn it on for 5 mins then quit... Frustrates me a little.
Also the "lots of people bad mohting it" line is bull shit. Want me to roll out a list of places where WoW gets shit on? The fact that its getting shit on in lots of places is better than like 10 people talking about it at all and w/e they say is generally bad.
Best part in my mind is this game will do very well for years and tons of people who profess they know about video games will dumbfounded as to why. Probably won't realize its a sign of just how little they know unfortunately.

I think if you're going to be negative about a game it helps if you name features that give other a feel that you actually have played the game.
