I'd be suprised if the forums were up. I, like many others I bet, have been spamming f5 on any web page that might carry info about when the servers will be up all day and with the sheer volume of people doing this its hardly a suprise that they're down.
And with the servers not up yet, it is definatly a pain and it has left me with nothing to do all day, but I don't think you can compare the time it takes for the US to get their servers patched with the EU ones. Turbine (I bet) have a much bigger team than CM for applying patches ect and CM have to cater for 3 diff languages which must split their team a little more making it a little harder for them to apply patches to the servers as fast as their opposite numbers across the pond.
The 2 month delay has been explained aswell, it was a contractual thing iirc. Obviously I don't have anymore info than that but to think that CM would allow this patch of all patches to take as long as it has taken to be applied through sheer lazyness or incompetence is naive at best.

Oh please. They got 3 Community Managers. And all three of them are busy all day posting youtube videos on that attention seeking garbage called Twitter, instead of making an update post on their forums (as it has been up and is up right now for the past hour or so)!
If we can make posts on the forums. So can they!
There is no excuse for not giving any update nor information to your paying customers.
I think its fair to assume that with a downtime of 16 hours, with no ETA of it ending, they have some technical problems. It would be nice to say so, if only to stop people from hammering their F5 keys.

If I can decifer between all the youtube garbage spam on their twitter and find some of the actual useful posts. Then it seems that they cannot get the store to work with the live servers. lol.
So much for the preview event and testing the store last week.

Im a twitter n00band facebook enemy, never got that shit to work the way i want it. Probably because i refuse to register to it. I only seem to see half of a convo, can't they just post a freaking update to some normal news site for those of us still in the stoneage?

It is amazing really. They had a lot of time to prepare this... Two extra months even... So its all rediculus IMO. Makes you wonder what sort of people are working at CM... I mean the executives must understand that they need to hire enough competent people to handle things in a acceptable way. And not only to handle technical and software issues. Also competent PR people that knows how to talk to and handle the community.
At least they could update the message in the patcher and give the players some info about progress.

I think it must be people that can't get a job at any other major company that ends up working at CM.
As seriously, as long as I remember they have always screwed up. With launches, patches. Everything. Always something.
The only other European MMO hosting company that's even worse than them is GOA. And thank god for them being out of business now. As they completely ran WAR into the ground here in Europe.
The community site of LOTRO Europe has been working fine all day. The Service status page is directly linked to the patcher!
So it totally beats me why they haven't used that medium to keep people updated. As most people are checking that page or the game launcher!
No instead, they are all more busy having a Youtube music video contest aka discussion on Twitter!
At least it tells you something about the professionalism (read total lack thereof) of CodeMasters.
Server status says all the servers are up and running (except Evernight that shows a yellow flag), but the game launcher is still stuck at update of the programs Ah well, time to watch a Supernatural episode.

I managed to login to anduin, didn't have a char there or anything but i could open the store and verify that i already had my points, so not everything is bad. Also yay for 4500 free points, that should get me started .
Anyone else unable to update the game , and gets this message " Error generating hash code for a patch file" ?
Yes, getting the same error here....
UPDATE:
Please note that the patching servers are very busy at the moment and therefore you may experience some errors (for example a hash code error presented during patching).
Please be patient and restart the client regularly if you encounter any patching issues. Thank you!
The Turbine servers didn't have this problem when they rolled out........
if it is that file that causing all the problems - it will be nice to chack if i can replace that file with someone alse file, anyone care to upload that file so i can use it insted of mine?

I can't even load the forums, let alone post.

tbh, I am dreading the performance of the servers when they do come back online:(

Currently Playing Nothing...
Can people that managed to patch the game please share this file ?
LOTROrowsergreprefsall.js
One of the guys on the CM forums has upped the file to http://www.mediafire.com/?t25mnoud8lkd8hy
Hope this helps

I know, seems odd to me...... I'm having this error as well also
what is this file exactly and what do we do with it?
Cool !
Just replace all.js file you downloaded with one in this folder : LOTROrowsergreprefsall.js
Works as a charm !
Updating now
hey that worked for me also:), what does it do?
It's replacing a corrupt file from the patch server so you don't get the hash check fail.

awesome thank you very much:)
This whole day is such a fail. Typical Codemasters.
The 3 new servers have been up for over 2 hours now. And the existing servers they just keep locked down! /facepalm
They haven't even done any advertising yet here in Europe.
So it beats me why they only bring up the new servers and keep the existing servers of the paying VIP subscribers locked down!
if it is that file that causing all the problems - it will be nice to chack if i can replace that file with someone alse file, anyone care to upload that file so i can use it insted of mine?
