Just quickly scanned the first 20 for day 4 and 15 were new created users as of the 22nd, many of those the 26th. I can t compete with these people who can stay home all day and refresh.
As a 37 yr old professional, I don't have time to watch Facebook, and MMORPG.com all day hitting the refresh button. I did the easy thing and bought a 1 year membership to TTH for $20 bucks. This got me my VIP Beta Key for Rift. Simple and easy.

I' d rather save the money to buy the actual game, rather than spending them for a beta key. Although i can understand your rationale i think that paying for betas is kinda silly. i mean there will be plenty of time to tryout the game in the future anyway.
My brain has 2 sides;Left and right. My left side has nothing right and my right side has nothing left...

While I completely agree that pay to play beta's are annoying and not something I would want to do. But the cost is for a year worth of TTH premium of which I use their site often for other games as well. This makes the upgrade to premium a no brainer for me. So I'm getting more than just a beta key to Rift. But again, if you are only doing it for the beta key itself, you are paying to play a beta for sure.
Looks like TenTonHammer is the only site raking in the dough on this one. They must be a making a killing.
Hope you all know these weekend "events" are nothing but stress tests and you can bet you will be staring at a "Cannot connect to log in server" screen most of the time. Would love to be proven wrong and be amazed at the hardware they're using, but I highly doubt it.
Have fun guys and congrats to all the legit winners. To all the scumbots selling keys on ebay...DIAF.
500 keys at 20 dollars a pop for new accounts made for a year....meh not a KILLING but some change maybe.....
maybe alot of singles to stuff down working people's g-string but not a killing realy
haha naw but I mean why the qq's its like this...I'ma new member....I always watch and read news, just never bother to create an account cause why the only real benefit is to flame post ppl....thats all ......if your mad at anyone its trion for trying to generate all this hype.
MikeBeezy is just doing his job and giving em out first come first serve....while being fair....
if he said first 100 to make me laugh/cry/fart/angry get a key that would be unfair or first 100 to link me your mothers/wife/husband credit card number with zip code and full name/add. than yea thats unfair
so in short : )
No morez of the qqzor
Edit: not to say the OP is QQ'ing just linked for the tentonhammer comment.

That's stupid in more ways than I can comprehend. Why give out more keys than the servers could handle? Especially in a stress test. Trion has an insane budget for this game, you'd be an idiot to think they don't have the server capacity to back it up. Hoping the game fails just makes you look like some crybaby nerd trolling just because you didn't get a key. Sorry for being too slow acidworm, maybe you'll make the HKOA2 beta instead.

SooOO how much money we talking? you sound like you got inside info?
I'm hoping for an awesome beta-launch and no bugs no downtime and just all around awesomeness.....
You think this is bad? You must not have been there when Darkfall released and you had to compete with probabaly 20,000+ people every day/week (depending when they released accounts) to buy one of 1,000 accounts.
I am entitled to my opinions, misspellings, and grammatical errors.

I did always thought that a stress tests was to make the server goes unfunctionnal?

Well, unfunctional is not a word, but yes. Typically, stress tests are meant to break the server in order to determine its maximum stress capacity. That is why they call it a stress test. Go figure, right? Golial just had a typical fanbot spasm-reaction.
I dont really know if they could have handled this better or not.
I never got a key from here.. even thou i was refreshing like mad around the time todays give away started.
The keys from here was deffinately the hardest and most boring to try and get...
Personally knowing around what time the give aways would start, like done on other sites, might been better.. but then again this site might have imploded then :P
Luckily i got several keys from elsewhere, with even trying, so i cant complain :P
Who could have thought that WOW could bring super power like USA to its knees?

Im picking on WoW btw because its the beast that made all of this possible
I didn't get one of the keys that is is only a limited supply. IT MUST BE BOTS! You know not the other thousands of people who had the same idea as you sitting there refreshing like mad.
Ok ok yeah maybe a couple were bots, but this is a fairly popular site and my money is on the fact it was just thousands of others refreshing and waiting as well.
I missed out on the previous 4 give outs but hit number 54 today so even though bots may be winning some, they're not getting the majority. I gotta tell you the amount of complaining around here is ridiculous and to those saying they're long time members and leaving... well if all you're going to do is complain like this... goodbye! Nobody's gonna miss ya.
IMO Mike handled things the best he could. It would have been horrible if he handed out all the keys at one time... he actually made it fair for both americans and europeans to get a shot at one. The site says there's over 1 million registered members and he only had 500 keys!!! Most people didn't have a shot from the beginning! And people who mention tentonhammer lose all credibility... they're just as bad as people selling on Ebay IMO. Yeah only give the keys to people who gave you money, yup uhuh, thats soo much better than this site giving them out for free, yup uhuh!
I am sure you will notice this is my 2nd post on this site. The thing is, I have been a member for years, I just don't care about posting, so when you see all those 1-5 posts amongst the winners it is hardly indicitive of bots.
It just so happened that I was working from home today so I set my browser to reload every 15 seconds and left the page up. I was in another window clicked over and it had just reloaded with the final update. Clicked the page, lag aplenty, there were only 8 responses up when it loaded. I actually typed my response and hit reply and watched my little circle spin its heart out. When the lag monster settled it appears I was the 80th some odd post.
But here is the thing, if it had truly been nothing but bots, there is no chance that my happenstance page swap, scrolling skills or even respectable typing speed would have been enough. There may have been a few bots in there, sure, but I am confident the vast majority were just those lucky enough to reload on the 1 second mark.
Here is some math to give it scope. If only 2000 people were waiting on the chance today that means only 5% were going to win. If every one of those 2000 were reloading every 30 seconds or so, that means that all other factors being equal (ping, response time, etc.) that you had about 1.5 seconds to respond to the thread for a chance to win.
I realize it's frustrating to try so hard and come up empty, but its just the reality of high demand items like this. No system is fair, especially in the mind of those who feel they "deserve" it simply by virtue of wanting it.
We've definitely heard your thoughts and if we come upon another batch of keys I'll be sure to factor everyone's feedback from the first giveaway into how we handle their distribution. With that said, there was really only so much I could do with what I was given and I did the best I could with the amount of keys and time I had.

Did they give keys to people with 1 post?
IMO, they should only give keys to people with more than 6 years memberskip
