Official forums. Cool story bro. Where do you think I heard it from.

    Linky

Confirmed no content for more than 5 man zones. Based on the Facts TERA is going to be a joke with no endgame and a huge grind.

Next time do some research yourself and stop mindlessly beleiving all the hype.

Because zerging mobs is so much fun amirite? skill>zerg

Exactly. Why does that mean no end-game? Action game, challenging, hard 5 mans. Isn't that amazing? I already know what you said, I can't understand how you think this means no endgame? And yes also, skill>zerg, go play your shitty 100 man raids. And anyway, they just said they want to balance out the 5mans before they attempt to bring out raids, which only means no raids at launch.

Well tera looks liek an asian grinder is why. It might not be but id guess that. Plus its much closer to release in the us.

TERA is an Asian grinder that is why. Also from what I have heard TERA has no endgame. All it has to keep people playing is grind, grind, grind forever. Sure the combat might be fun at first but it will get old after a while. People will go play Rift, WoW, or whatever offers long term non-grind related goals.

Do you know what I miss about MMOs? Not hearing the word "endgame" so much. When I look at Tera I see a game that I can enjoy the whole time I'm playing and not just powerlevel my way thru to be at the top.  Also just because they don't have the typical raid boss scenario doesn't mean there is no endgame content. There has not been a lot of mention of endgame and I'm glad. I want to get hyped to play the game not be at the end of it.

Some players consider getting a bunch of friends together and killing mobs or running through a dungeon for a few hours with no meta-reason (read: quest) to do so way more fun and engaging than solo grinding through quest after quest.

Every MMO game has grinding.  Some just use quests while some use monsters.  It's really your prefrence which one you enjoy more.  I for one hope in the deepest part of my soul that Tera is not going to be a solo quest grinder all the way to max level.  That would be a failure in my book.

This is looking good. Who cares about other rumours. Just going to enjoy the game and play others too. No law against playing more than one game. I really like the combat very nice video thank you for sharing.

In retards law, there is only one MMO at any given time, MMOs kill each other off because there aren't enough people to play more than one MMO. For an MMO to be successful it has to 'beat' World of Warcraft.

Personally I'm hoping this game stay under the radar a little bit. Would be great to have a nice community of gamers atleast for the first few months before the hordes of kiddies come to spam global chat and make asses of themselves.

Also good solid 5 man content as endgame is a huge plus for me. It so much easier to find 4 solid players than a 'Raid'

Hopefully there won't be too many kiddies since this game is problaby going to be rated M. But they make some changes for us westerners.

Glad to see we can at least count on Koreans to try something new rather than just cranking out tired old ez mode, themepark quest grinders.

Combat in Tera looks better with every new version, and I really hope they keep most of the pve content geared towards 5 people, It's much easier to create a fun and truly difficult encounter for 5 people than for a zerg.

I much rather have challanging content for one group of friends than some "raid" based end game where I'm required to babysit 30+ mouth breathing WoW rejects in some paint by number encounter with 15 addons telling people everything down to how to wipe their ass properly.

I do find it funny how people continue to put so much faith in the hype machine that MMO's have become so good at creating.

“It's unwise to pay too much, but it's worse to pay too little. When you pay too much, you lose a little money - that's all. When you pay too little, you sometimes lose everything, because the thing you bought was incapable of doing the thing it was bought to do. The common law of business balance prohibits paying a little and getting a lot - it can't be done. If you deal with the lowest bidder, it is well to add something for the risk you run, and if you do that you will have enough to pay for something better.”

Since when is raiding the only type of end game content that can be imagined?

    Here you go.

The theme of today's trailer was Politics. When will the Political System be seen in TERA?

Captain: The political system will be added in the OBT. The political system is actually end game content so it won't really be active until the game's launch. We will time the event when there are a fair number of high level players around and have a first election of an Exarch. After that, PK rules and other systems will be shown one by one through the reign of the first Exarch.

So there is end game content. Just not "raiding" end game content.

I agree with you.  The hype generated by the developers of MMO games in the recent years has definitely crossed the line of false advertising.

But I have to question your post on this particular thread.  I don't really see how a video of someone actually playing Tera can be described as "hype".  I mean.. they're just playing the game. How exactly is that hype?

I'm sorry but the video was very underwhelming to me.  I was expecting something hard charging and faster paced like DCUO.  The mana potions and run around in circles just wasn't really doing it for me.  Maybe its just that class,  maybe it feels different when you are playing it.  I'll have to get my hands on it to know for sure.

Right now it looks exactly like a mix between MMO combat and Action maneuver-ability whereas I was expecting more action combat in an MMOspace.

I'm not making an entire judgement call on this game from this one video,  in fact the other ones I've seen kind of put me in the action game mindset.   Maybe some of you could show me in more detail what this game offers?

I agree...if anything thank the OP for showing us the game and letting us be the judge. I admit to being burned by the hype (WAR) but this is not the dev this is an actual player testing it out.

A video speaks for itself, hyping something is posting a lot of post about how perfect the game is.

Combat seems to look pretty fun to me and graphics seems fine but that is as well just a comment of the video, I have no idea how fun the game will be to play and if it will be a L2 like grindfeast or not.

But posting videos and discussing games is kinda the point of this forum.  Of course you can do that too much and we seen so for most games but I like you don't see how this thread was made as a hype. I want to learn more about the games that release 2011 and we can't do that if people aren't aloowed to post vids and commenting them.

So I agree 100% with you. This is not hyping.

And anyone who can't handling if someone post a gameplay video should probably not spend time on a MMO forum.

The more videos I watch about this game the more and more it starts to look like an asian grindfest with a new aiming system.  Combat looks the same as any other MMO you have your 1-9 action bar buttons you just have an FPS style aiming reticle you have to keep on target.  And reading about the different classes on the official site they seem like they will be missing something.  Not sure what it is but I dont think this game will be as good as people think.

I hate the MMO Genre and the typical environments, and typical tasks. It's all so typical, when is something atypical going to come out?

I find it funny how people like you who are not enjoying mmos want other people to feel the same way you do. I am loving my mmo and have been loving it for 5 years. You are the minority and you always will be so instead of talking to me go post on  one of those threads that we keep getting everyday talking about how mmos are not what they use to be so I can keep having something to read and laugh at. Instead of complaining try playing a real mmo.

Well for one thing, there is no mana pots in tera.  zip, zero, none.

Tera is a game of movement, but I guess you could just stand there and fight without moving but it won't be very effective.  Game play is fast paced but not as fast as other games.  Character base speed is determined by what class you pick.

No, because we don't give a shit if you play the game or not. We'll be playing it, not here to convince easy-mode scrubs to play our game.
