No kidding, if thats the kind of attitude of a typical gamer for GW2 i'm already worried about the game.
Bad community kills a game faster then anything. Lets hope those attacking other players over a poll (rolls eyes) are not the typical person in GW2 or it's dead right out of the gate.
Just say no to flames guys, keep it civil please.
Once again grats to GW2. Still anticipating ToR though. Should be fun.
Help me Bioware, you're my only hope.
Is ToR going to be good? Dude it's Bioware making a freaking star wars game, all signs point to awesome. -G4tv MMo report.

Same could be said for any majorly anticipated game in the past decade, why pick on GW2 when TOR has the same problem when you read all the comments?
Good for GW2! I excited for both it and SWTOR, but GW2 seems a bit more exciting. I just hope that people who voted for GW2 don't have such high hopes that when some expectations weren't met with exactly as they were thinking they freak out.
GW2 really does seem to deserve the hype it's getting, but lets not get out of hand. It's gonna be good, but it's not going to be the perfect, wow killing MMO some think it will be.
The interesting thing about GW2 is that there are no empty promises. They're not releasing information about anything until it's already functional and in the game. This is a far cry from games promising the moon but delivering a hunk of limburger promising they'll get rid of the smell later. Hell, they won't even tell us the professions until they actually have them working the way they want them in the game. Very little news on crafting, PvP, underwater combat... they're not ready to makes promises until they're sure they can keep them. Easily why it got my vote.
I have to admit, I don't know much about SW:ToR, but once I heard they were sticking with the archaic tank/healer/dps trinity I lost interest fast. Too many years of WoW can do that to a guy.
need i go on? i dread it when games fall on this list
So that's FF 14 - Aion - Darkfall - Warhammer - Age of Conan.
) Great list I must say
So the readers of this site are not very good at making predictions...
That's the least we can say.
I think we got it right this time. I was looking at rift and Tera for a while but GW2 promisses to be a great game. It actualy has a history and storyline to..GASP !
Yea...just what this genre needs is ANOTHER fantasy-based MMO. Not saying anything is wrong with GW2, but I'm just sick of MMOs coming from the SAME genre.
I'm sorry...but TOR is looking great and is a sci-fi MMO, which the genre is highly lacking. I can think of maybe 4-5 sci-fi MMOs to about 30-40 fantasy MMOs.
The problem with ToR is they are not putting out enough imagery and info lately. When that happens people get worried that the polish they want wont be there. The MMO players of today have reason enough to be jaded by past hype over delivery dissapointments.
The concern over GW2 many have is the old GW system where most of the world is instanced and you end up feeling like your in a single player if you dont have the social system down and its just different enough from other games to put people off. Im really interested in GW2 as well but dont know if it will go far enough into open world for it to feel like an honest MMO to me.
This is probably the first year that Im just not sure what Im going to play yet.

LoL look at all the swtor fanbois crying in thier milk. never mind mommy will kiss it better and then you can go back to your cot for a nap.
look at all the GW2 fanbois trying to act all macho defending a GAME on a MMORPG WEBSITE
you people take gaming too friggen seriously.
just the sort of response i would expect form a swtor fanbaby.. Please show me where i was acting macho or defending gw2 ? I don't need to act macho and GW2 needs no defending. Its going to wipe the floor with swtor with out any help what so ever.
Top 3 MMO's PRE-CU SWG GW1 GW2
Worst 2 wow and Lotro Under standing stones it went woke
I have to admit GW2 getting 50% more votes than TOR leaves me speechless.
It seems GW marketing machine is working, at least for now, better than BioWare one.
Maybe that of it's because some of the designs choices made in GW2 looks like more oriented towards giving players choices versus setting them on rails as in TOR. Well, regarding the few we really know.
Although we can pretty much assume both games will sell like hot cakes.
The people gave their choice, thus the result is shown. Why are fanbois from all sides crowding this? You're honestly going to defend "your game" on the basis that PLAYERS is the one and only factor with this poll?
Sure the features from all the games have been listed, some are innovative and what not but I think this article is not named "Features of the most anticipated upcoming games - flame on!"
I see this as a win for everyone except Arenanet. This just proves Bioware and the other game makers are trying to keep from over hyping thier game. I think so far, Bioware is doing the right thing.
GW2 mgiht have some nifty innovations and some better graphics but it doesn;t mean its going to be a good game. We won;t know that until it is released. But what I do know is the more the hype is up for this game, the worse they will be off when opening day comes. Because every little bug will be blown way out of proportion.
I do not see the need to get upset and throw fanboy monikers around. What I do think is that this vote is a good example that serious MMO players are tired of the same old, same old. It seems from what we have seen, Bioware has made a better Wow in space. Personally I think that will bring in new players to the genre, but many MMO players are looking for something different and that is why GW2 is getting all the votes. Arenanet is attempting to stretch the genre a bit and serious players are looking forward to that.
It remains to be seen which game will really be the bigger hit.
That is just... mind boggling... considering what an absolute piece of garbage GW1 is, **WORST $49.99 I EVER SPENT** I am just absolutely blown away. I couldn't play that game more than a week even being free and I've tried to go back countless times to find it boring as ever.
I guess some people just love to jump on bandwagons cuz I know there is no way that GW has that many loyal followers over the other mentioned games.
GW2, another fantasy game to add to the millions out there already.
Players will end up going back to WoW after a month or 2 of GW2 is my prediction and GW2 will just be another F2P game when players don't want to pay for a subscription base mmo (RoM, Allods, EQ2 Extended, DDO, Lotro etc etc)..
Folks are taking this way too personally. Remember: most anticipated does not mean best. And whats best for you may not be whats best for someone else. There is no right or wrong when discussing personal preference. Debating is fine, but all i see here are a bunch of poor winners and sore losers. And that attitude really defeats the point of a site dedicated to an entire genre of diverse games.
Originally posted by Draenor anyone who has ever played The Old Republic has it as their number 1...the game is stunningly good
Not true I still voted for GW2 after being in the SW:ToR Beta, it wasn't about quality but style of play, can't say any more than that because of the NDA.

Congratulations ArenaNet, you earned it!!
I will continue to always vote for you as long as you create fantastic games like this, which impress me to no end!

Well not bad , i dont care that GW2 won , it was winning on this site since mid last year .
But still having SWTOR score 28% seems the Tide is changing .
So i am pleased about the results .
