I'd like to try out the Beta, but the game is still turning me off as far as pre-ordering it.
1) It doesn't appear like there's anything else to do besides those Rifts they've been focusing on in their videos (also read this from people confirming this who's played the beta)
2) The little bit of PvP I've seen in the videos give the impression that the combat is pretty stiff. They look like robots swing their weapons up and down in a real stiff manner. If anyone knows of a better video that shows a lot more PvP in order to get a better feel of it please post.
I need to test some more before I decide whether or not I'll take the plunge. I didn't like it much at the start, but it was growing on me towards the end.

I orginally had zero interest in this game. I knew it was similiar to EQ/WoW, and I already had Cataclysm to keep me occupied. But after a lucky beta invite, I found that I really liked being able to tailor my character to exactly what I wanted, instead of being shoe-horned into WoW's more general classes. Plus the content was interesting and the game has a level of polish that I havent seen anywhere outside of Blizzard. I pre-ordered and I am looking forward to Head-Start : )
Hmm.. Should I skip out on DCUO and just preorder this?... its pretty much only a month apart (with headstart), and at least I have played and enjoyed the beta so far...At which I will be taking a lunge buying and trying DCUO.. Hmm.. Tried and proven or The mysterious unknown?
With the head start on Feb 24th, and admission to all the remaining betas with pre-order, I'm quite excited. I'm looking forward to testing out the pvp in Beta 4.
Well many countless others have said same thing smoothest and possibly best run Beta events i've tested and i've tested a lot they could launch next week it's that solid,still not sold though maybe to generic but as a mash up of every Mo before it does a good job and i don't mean bloody WOW either !!
I thought a trial period was pretty much standard in subscription MMOs. Seems like a lot of money for a game that the developers have given very little information on what the gameplay is actually like..

I take it you have not tested the game yet,also The NDA is lifted so u can freely ask any testers out there and i'm sure there will be a open beta as it's already launch ready so not long to wait if u wanna test it out
I guess I am the only one who feels they are rushing to launch before the other 2011 games? If i hear enough about the game being really good after launch i may buy and sub but as for now the beta isnt enough to make be CE and go 6 months or anything. Not willing to play a 1/2 completed game like Aion again.
I don't think people quite understand the pricing you are locking in as you order for good. Going to a 6 month keeps your sub rate at 9.99 if you cancel or want to change it reverts to the 14.99. I personally like this and think it's a bold and smart move on Trion's part. In a way guarantee subs for at least 6 months because alot will do the 9.99.
Seems like any Free 2 Play MMORPG thats already out. I really don't see the appeal.
It is P2P however, and it is based more on P2P-MMOs such as WAR and WoW then any F2P game. I don't see the similarity between Rift and any (you name it) F2P game.
March 1st 2012 i ll see if it s better. Better games will be out before then I m sure though.

This is one game I will pre-order . I've not been this confident about a game in 6 years since I beta tested you know what . If he wants to wait a year thats upto him but he'll be missing out on a lot of fun and a great mmo . If your someone that does have his doubts I would suggest waiting a month or three . I've been burnt before by the likes of Vanguard and Age of Conan . but I've seen more than enough here to know this games for me .

Just ordered the CE plus 6 months
I ordered the Electronic CE only going for 1 month at the moment, as I haven't been able to play the beta yet to see if I like the game.

Never in my gaming history have I subbed for a game longer than a month at a time.
Probably never will either.

I will not be paying. I was not impressed in beta. Combat is too repetitive.
