After a good break from the MMO scene (I cannot take one more grind to cap and do the same thing everyday after MMO for the life of me so help me.....), my return will come with the ER release. Why this game?
Deep crafting. PvP. Sci-fi setting (dwarves and elves get old after a while). SKILL BASED.
There are more reasons, but these are the main reasons I will be calling ER home. Its nice to finally have a developer cater to the non-EQ style MMOs. I like those, but they lack the longevity for me.
I plan on weathering the sure-to-be rocky release, here's hoping that the roadmap doesn't have too many sinkholes lurking beneathe the surface! Who's going to be with me, bugs and all? MMO releases can be some of the most fun, frustrating and traumatic gaming experiences! When a game "makes it" its really fun to be one of the few who "was there when." You in?
*edit* crap hit "enter" while making the poll, answers didnt get all filled in. Skip this poll, go to post #2! Sorry, its been a while since I was active on here, still getting the hang of it again.
If you're joining for release, just post in the thread. If you have no interest in ER whatsoever, why are you here reading this forum? Just move along!
I really hope that *insert game name here* will be the first game to ever live up to all of its pre-release promises, maintain a manageable hype level and have a clean release. Just don't expect me to hold my breath.

You sound like us as far as playing ER.. Check out our guild if yer not already in one. fts.guildlaunch.com
Thanks for the heads up! I will! After all, MMOs are only as good as the people you play with.
*edit*
Just a friendly heads up, you're going to really have to flesh out your site if you want to attract members. It doesn't have ANY information whatsoever about your guild. Not even what type of guild it is. I'm sure you're working on it, but a friendly tip from me would be NOT to link people there until its done.

I want to play it, but something tells me I probably shouldn't far at least a few months.
That's probably a good general rule for MMOs to begin with. No amount of testing can account for what a couple hundred thousand people are going to find and what that load is going to do to your servers.
As long as you don't mind the folks who can stick through that period getting a head start, then its always okay to wait! Some folks want it both ways, though. You can't join on day one EXPECTING a polished and perfected game in the MMO scene. Its just not realistic. I can't stand the folks who HAVE to get the head start, but can't help themselves when it comes to griping about the couple months it takes to iron things out.
So do what is best for you, hope to see you in game at some point!

ya its still a work in progress and any suggestions are welcome. jsut so long as its not a troll heh. the about us thing should tell ya what we are looking for
Hmm, thats strange, we have a bio of us on the main page.. I'll look into it.:) EDIT: non members cant see much, thanks for the heads up!
The only thing I was able to see was the public forum & membership requests forums. On the front page, nothing (except a Raid Progressions Info link that I would need to sign in to see). I didn't see an "about us" anywhere. Using Firefox 3.6.13 if that makes any difference!

No problem. Non-members can't see anything, hehe. See my reply to your guildy as to what exactly we CAN see!

No bug! I'm the one who pointed it out, so I should at least follow up. YUP! I see lots more now! Good job fellas!

OP I suggest that you re-read what the closed beta testers are saying about the game.
Char advancement : Grinding kill-quests for someform of points. over-and.over-again
Crafting: All mats drop from mobs (no farming as of yet, will come though) and the crafting process is:
1 Get 4x and 3y
2 Put in crafting-station,
3. Push button
bzzzzt
done.
blueprints only changes statgains on crafted item.
I think you will be quite dissapointed at this game.
no pun intended.

I have nothing clever to say.
Agreed. Just watch the beta vids. Crafting is as basic as it gets, WoW standard, it's not deep nor planned to be any deeper.
And yeh, char advancement is entirely based on kill missions, repeated. Not that it matters, the majority of the chars power is in gear, which is in tiers. Regardless of skills or personal skill, a player with the higher tier of gear with wipe an entire group of you out.
There's no patching, no update to fix this, this is how it's intended to play. Just got paid and was going to buy it, no chance in hell, not even half the price.
You both are right to an extent....
You are still able to customize your armor and put the stats into the way you want! There is different types of "Skill Tapes" (if you played SWG) that you can craft into your armor to make the way you want it. Also there is the different quality of items which comes with experience towards crafting (your not going to be poping out Q4's during the first week).
So yea its the same ol plug and drop but with more customization!
We also havn't seen what the Territoriall (when put in) crafting stations / harvestors will be doing / making!
www.livestream.com/vinterchaos if you wanna see all the "skill tapes" and different ways to craft around!
Essentially, ALL crafting is going to only be SO complex.
The most important thing is this: Are the powerful/sought after itmes in game crafted or looted? If its crafted, and we're talking a player driven community, then I'm good to go!

They are crafted. I believe a lot of, what I loath to call 'end-game gear', will require materials that can only be gained from territorial conflict, too.
Control an entire resource? Control the production of all items requiring said resource.
And, while there is some dropped gear right now, it's all of extremely poor quality.
All why I am very excited for ER!!!

dont expect a perfect bug free game at release and your good to go
In MMOs, there is no such thing as the perfect game.
At release, there is no such thing as bug free.
I've been playing MMOs as long as they've been coming out. My expectations are very realistic!

I'll try any sci-fi mmo so I will be playing. Does sound interesting.
