No, it wasn't a game for me. Tho I didn't like WoW eaither. They're not bad games, it's just that I'm not getting the right feeling with those games.

    My amazingly clairvoyant prediction:

Large population drop of after the first month.

Posters will declare the game is dead.

Rift we settle down, doing far better without the players who go from MMO to MMO as they search for a game that will never exist.

    Some servers will merge.

Posters will declare the game is dead.

Now with a healthy population on most servers Rift will remain a major player in the MMO genre.

My payment details have already been removed from the account settings, but I'll be playing my cleric casually until the account expires. It was a decently fun journey from 1 to 50, but there's nothing more to this game, PvP is a sad joke, PvE is even more boring than the other theme park MMORPGs, and I really don't feel like leveling another alt through exactly the same content.

Between the beta events and the 30 included days, I had worth my money of gaming in Rift, but that's it. To me, it's just another AoC, Warhammer, etc... it's lacking something that would make it more than a filler.

EDIT and PS: as soon as my account expires and I'm no longer playing Rift, I will also leave this forum. No worries ;)

PS2: it's amusing how the retention rate displayed by this poll (55%) is close to the one I have predicted in another thread (60%). Looks like I was even a bit optimistic.

I paid for a six month sub and I'm glad I did.

It's likely I will be playing Rift for a few years to come.

Yes, I'm subbed on the 3 month deal because by that time summer will be in full swing and no video game is going to keep me off my Harley!

  • erictlewiserictlewis Member UncommonPosts: 3,022

I did not vote in the poll becasue I quit playing the game durring beta.  I have to wonder how many folks who have voted one way or antoher and have actually replied in this thread who actually don't play the game.

so with that said I find the numbers interesting if you can believe them almost 45% of the folks say they will not resub.  Hmmm.

  • XasapisXasapis Member RarePosts: 6,337

Well, 45% is higher than the usual retention rate, even if the numbers are artificialy made worse.

i'll be staying untill blizzards new mmo comes out....hehe might take a fiew more months (read: years) i think (lolz).

What i find a good thing is that alot off these rushers are leaving or going back to that other game that i shall not name :p

Kinda funny actually.......they say the game is boring but also they played it SOOO much that they are having 2 or 3 lvl 20 chars and a char thats almost lvl50.

Hmmmmi think these guys just played it a bit TOO much.......if i eat 2 pizza's a day for a month i'll prolly dont like em anymore either after that months (and pizza will all be the same....lol...sorry had to say that :p )

If i play for 3 to4 hours on a saterday i also need a break.......as with all good things.....DONT OVER DO IT !

But like i sayd: gladd to see some of the mmo hoppers and rushers leave already......wonder when they be back :p

edit: i'll be staying yes :)

I will be, for 3 months...in wait of games to come later.  Riding the wave of zerging fun while it lasts :)

  • SynadilSynadil Member Posts: 30

Nope. Going to stick with DDO. Sad that a "f2p" game is better than a supposed AAA title...

    Yes.

I'm in no particular hurry to "finish" playing Rift. There's plenty of different things to do and I'm still having fun. I managed to pick one of the four over powered classes in PvP so I'm doing good. :-)

I can not remember winning or losing a single debate on the internet.

Hmm...dunno if anyone has replied to you yet, but I think you are out of luck now. If I recall, you only had until Mar 15th to pick a payment plan that included Founder's Pricing. And now your only option is regular pricing. I could be wrong but that's how I remember it.

Oh, and I chose the 3-month plan, so will be staying for that at least. We'll see what's up after that, if anything has been changed (PvP and Crafting are pretty lackluster and apoth is borked ) or been added at that time. If not, most likely that will end my sub there.

The offer's been extended until the end of the month. I guess they didn't get the response they'd hoped for. I would point out, though, that, at three months, you're only saving a slim 3 bucks from the regular 3-month sub. Take a look on their pricing site and compare to see if giving Trion that much money up front is worth it for you.

I've notice a big pop drop ever since prelaunch ended.  I expect a lot of people to be leaving after 1st month.

  • cheyanecheyane Member LegendaryPosts: 9,405

I am loving it I have all the four callings and experimenting with them and playing has not gotten me above level 26 so I am definitely staying because I have a lot more to do. I think if you play too fast you get bored fast. I am so far enjoying myself immensely experimenting with all the builds and stuff.

    I will be staying.

I will do the 6 month sub at 1st and see what happens after the end of 6 months. I am currently in a great guild and am enjoying Rift for what it is. Nothing groundbreaking, but has been pretty fun for me. Having some RL friends and being in a good guild helps.
