You do know that ALL these threads about WoW, instead of ruining its image, gives it too much importance... STOP compraing any game and mmo to WOW, its getting old! People that keep saying this have too much free time in their hands.
It is a fair comparision though, and the most logical. You cannot refute that. This thread isnt about WoW however, but the ad campaign by Trion that targets WoW. There is a fundamental difference, even though the subjects in question are the same.

In your opinions, do you really think Rift has made that big of an impact on the market? Enough so that WoW (and other MMOs) will bleed subscribers?
The general idea I am picking up from the majority of opinions I see is that Rift is just something to do until something better comes along (insert GW2, TOR, Tera, Titan, etc). It's been said time and time again that Rift's strengths aren't its innovations, but that it does everything well, and that for once it feels like an MMO ready to be released.
What are your thoughts?

No, and I wasn't expecting it to be. ^^ I've long since given chasing that phantom. All I'm looking for is an enjoyable, well polished game. DCUO was neither to me. Rift on the other hand is both. But I'm also looking forward to GW2, TOR, Firefall and Tera(if they have PvE servers). They do look like fun as well.

The review from MPOGD which was used as a marketting ad by Trion. It's currently visible at the top of my screen.

RIFT didn't kill DCUO, DCUO killed DCUO.
The complaint from players is 95%+ the same thing. Very little level-cap content.
Spec'ing properly is a gateway drug.
12 Million People have been meter spammed in heroics.

The double meaning makes me laugh a little. Seeing as how neither game has a crafting system worth two craps.
