I like oldies at times. That got me thinking about one I hadn't heard in years, so I found it on Youtube. I was going to post more but... I'll admit, I started to cry I moved 2,000 miles away from my parents and this one just really pushes the right buttons
they also do some awesome covers of old skool metallica songs such as "one" and "orion." they also did a cover of "stairway to heaven." if you bother to look around, you'll come across a video of them jamming with metallica's robert trujillo for their take on "orion." it's an awesome performance.
I love flemeco guitar playing, it's as much fun to listen to as it is to play! Some of the chord progressions still baffle me. Never heard of these two before, glad I now have
Anyway, for a change of direction (a bit) here's an oldies form the 80's by a 70's group. Was popular and you may still hear it as background music on an occasional TV show (Homer chanted a line of it during the "Pin Pals" episode years back) but I never hear radio stations play it
sometimes i wish i lived in europe so i could go to big outdoor metal festivals. they are few and far between in usa
Heard UKJ reunited in 2010 for a potential tour... only took them 13 years!
I've posted these guys a few times, but when Metal come into play, I love them. They can take some of the darkest themes and place heavy music to them but if you listen... they never curse. Just one of those little quirks I guess I like. That and the vocalist have like a 4 octave range to his voice (and used to work at Medieval Times in New Jersey)... just blows me away.
the eagles were great listening during my trucking days.
here's one of the very few country singers i will tolerate. he was a truck driver. i think he still has his small fleet of longnose pete 379's. i dunno what type of commodities he specializes in, however.
before anything welcome to all newcomers and thanks for sharing,
Its been a busy week at the hood, but lets start
Mason Williams classical Gas Ok, both song and video are enjoyable. It kinda remembers me of these films i used to watch when i was a kid, about cowboys and shootings and xeriffs and stuff. Then i get up from my sofa and went to play with my friends in the streets, thinking we were cowboys and such. Thanks for the nostalgia injection. And i may have missed that simpson episode, didnt even had an idea.
Pantera - A new level Indeed, really powerfull song. So powerfull, that it even makes me think i could do a mosh pit, a circle pit or even a "wall of death". While reviewing this concepts, wrote by you by the way, i (unfortunately) kept reading and my brain frozen here :"... the crowd seperates and when the music starts they rush at each other. fun times, but not for the weak of heart. i chipped a tooth once in a six feet under pit, popped my shoulder out of socket in a hatebreed pit, and broke my nose in a pantera pit lol. ..."
Nah, i...i dont think ill do such a (brave?) thing...
White zombie - More human than human Awesome song, and a somewhat artistic video, too. I dont really understand the meaning (if it has one) of the song, but hell. Who cares right? Lets just do a "wall of death"... no just kiding. Still after listening to this song, i dont really think it has to have a meaning, it just has to have a replay button.
Pantera - Hollow Really calm and chilling song , well untill 3:10, after that its just "wall of death"... hm... i am not good at jokes... Seriously, R.I.P Dimebag. I really didnt knew him, untill lets say one month (wich in the career of a musician is nothing), but in all the pantera songs, the guitar allways seems to be there. I wont say he played that great or that he was the best, simply because i dont know his work, but as the whole pantera group is (was?) awesome, i guess he was pretty awesome too.
Rebecca Black - Friday Oh wow. No i wont comment that...th4t5 t00 13:37 f0r m3... but lets say i do have a special gift for you too
Reading Rainbow Slowed down - Punching my stomach to stop laughing...
Coil - Ostia (the death of Pasolini) this song is kinda creepy, but at the same time beautifull. It just touch me in a creepy way or whatever. Its kinda a dark song but at the same time very realistic. Well, ok stop the idiot philosophies. I agree, with me... (no good at jokes syndrom). Anyhow i like it, i think. thanks! Btw, this link you posted is broken or something. FIX!
Coil - The first five minutes after death OK, reading the title when listening to the song is aswell creepy, but the song itself, its easily more enjoyable. I mean, its not better, its just more easy to like (at least to my hears). Good one too!
Coil - Absinthe - Animal are you? Datenverarbeiter (difficult name hm?) remix What GhetusSathanus Said.
Coil - Blood from The air "They say beyond a certain point those killed in war become just a number. What I love about this movie is that this is the Truth of every single? one of the 50,000 Americans and MILLIONS of Vietnamese that died in that war. Every single one is a horror like this." emphryio . Well this song kinda stays on my ok side. I might listen to it, but i do prefer the others you posted. A alternative ( way way alternative) band wich i didnt know about, but pretty good! thanks for sharing your tastes pal.
Sam the sham and the Pharaohs Some good old fashioned stuff indeed. And funny, too.
Suspicious minds - Elvis Any statement i can say, is not enough to glorify this man. Except this one.
Cats in the cradle Already knew both songs, pure gold.
Weslley willis - Sucka cheetas $"%! this is the history of trolling, chapter 1.
Diablo rojo (Rodrigo y Gabriela) Some insane skills and a really enjoyable music. Plus i really get in the mood to start dancing (attempting to dance to be more precisely). I would be happy to hear this music while drunk, i would defiantly have a happygasm. Thanks for sharing!
Mr.Roboto - Styx This was the very first song i heard from them. Absolutely love it. That organ play, those vocals... Well everything. Awesome.
Haste the Day Dreamer - Autumn Acoustic Dope song. I can see myself crying myself to this song, because my girlfriend broke up with me... or because i lost a PVP... both sad... both sad. Thanks for sharing! btw, is that just the cover or the original?
Six feet under - human target Ok, good. But that voice...his throat must be hurt after that concert.
Symphony X - Inferno (unleash the fire) Really good one, but didnt you post(or someone) already a symphony X song? I know it wasnt the full song, but like a compilation of some synphony X songs.
Sade - Skin Already knew it. Goodie.
Manowar - Warriors of the world united Ok, i think im familiar with that but... "wall of death"!!!!... no seriously imma stop this..
Eagles - Peaceful easy Feeling When i have a country house imma play this on my old sound system. My children; wife; and animals will be dancing with me to this song, at the sunset.
Aaron tippin - Call of the wind Here i will be beating up some bullies while drinking whisky and in the end i get 3 cowboy chicks... Or i am playing GTA san andreas, driving a car tunned on K-Rose...
Deep purple Anyone´s daughter Cool song. In this one im lonely driving my muscle car, near the grand canyon. While shaking my long and beautiful hair (and it shines).
Damn... got ninjaed! Notorious Big... strange but I've heard him before. Actually I heard lhis song blasting out of car stereos on the streets fo Phoenix... a city I'd rather not go back to or live in. Funny how a song can bring you back to a time and place you'd rather not be. I don't know if it was this particular song but I do know it was him. Can't say if I like the song or not just because I really can't stand that place!
White Zombie... hehe... yeah. Rob Zombie is a very strange person. In reality though, he's perfectly sane and intelligent. I remember watching a video series interview him for up and coming musicians. He was giving advice like just because you get signed , don't quit your day job... and a lot of other words of common sense. Definitely not what you'd expect when you see or watch the videos. Now he wrties and directs horror movies

B.I.G was and in my opinion will allways be one of the kings on Rap, aswell as Tupac. Well i know the feeling, i see cars blasting rap songs all the time (most of them are trash rap,but still, some think rap is all trash so i guess it comes to taste and opinion).
A thing wich i notice very often is, the ones who dont live on "the streets", those who dont see what happens inside the hood, generally dont like RAP ( and its fine, each one likes whatever, just pointing). It´s more a way of living and accepting certain truths wich arent easy to swallow.
Its really impossible not to listen rap and hip hop where i live. Rap around here is the way people act, is the way people react. Rap is like a RAW diary, we say what we live, we say whats needed to say without cornering or dodging. Or simply to show-off to other potential threats (just like a lion would do if feeling threatened by the "manhood" of another lion).
Above all, RAP talks truth allways. If it doesn´t, its not really good rap (why to write a diary if its all a lie? guess in that case we have a film/serie/soap opera instead of a diary) even if it has a good beat or is somehow catchy.
If you are wondering, that song has the guitar riff from Led zeppelin "ten years gone". This song is tupac´s tribute to led zeppelin, and it comes from the album "me against the world" wich was released on 1995 trough "Interscope Records".
But for the song I was going ot post... I usually don;t rave over video game music, but back in the late 90's I played one that changed that - Castlevania: Symphony of the Night
I've always enjoyed guitar covers of video game music, Squeenix ones especially. Been trying to play this guy's version of "Sight of Spira" for years. My ability to keep beat with my thumb and fingerpicking has improved since learning some of Andy Mckee's goodies, but I just can't get the plucky bassline on this one to jell with the riff. Will probably pull my hair out over it for an hour or two after posting this.
got this cd the other day for 4 dollars at the used cd store. reminds me of 8th grade, which is sorta messed up since i shouldn't of been listening to this stuff at that age

ugly kid joe brings me back to middle school because that's when i first heard of that band. it brings back both good and bad memories.

Some Trip-hop,
Unkle ft Richard Ashcroft - Lonely Soul
Richard Ashecroft was the singer for the Verve.
In a similar vein you have
Massive Attack - Butterfly Caught
These are the guys that made the song Teardrop, the House theme.
All men think they're fascinating. In my case, it's justified
