Sorry but this billing thing happened just last month. End of month if I am not mistaken. Just ask Grim over on VN boards. In fact if you look you should see the post. So they are still having issues. You should ask someone over at TulgAE about how they use a txt file for transfering info over to ibill.

SONEONE GOT THEIR BILLING ISSUE FIXED IN 5 MINUTES???
Holy hell, almighty on a plate.
We cancelled just before Ibills sold or changed to Ipays. Called them on the phone after clicking cancel. Confirmed cancellation.
For one month we received no charges. Then for the next NINE FU**ING months, they charged my card. I called and called and called. I used their automated credit card check system. Both system and live persons told me that they had NO record of my card being charged.
I had to issue a fraud alert on my card and get a new number. I was assured by Ipay that my card was not, nor would be charged ever again. I EVEN RECEIVED EMAIL CONFIRMATION FROM THEIR CS. That was four months into the nine. Guess what? Recurring charges get PASSED THROUGH fraud changes. I continued to get charged by the bastards. I ended up cancelling my credit card completely to stop the fraudulent charges from Ipay.
Just for the absolutely ridiculous hassle I went through for ALMOST A YEAR after cancelling, I would avoid this game like a skank with herpes, AIDS, ebola, and crabs.

I must agree with the game getting better, I played from Day 3 of the Horizons release, then i left due to real world complications. Now I'm back and I brought my wife with me, we were caught in the EQ2 craze for a few months but upon realizing that the game was no where near the great game we Beta tested we came back. Sure its not for everyone , and i love that. If i wanted to deal with immature gamers there are plenty of "bigger" games i could play. The community here has been and is still....solid.

Does your son know you refer to him as a computer coder? I would be interested in knowing what you mean by "one look at this game". Do you mean he logged in and played for 5 mins, had a look at the log files generated from a session? or something else could you be more specific?
There are a few thousand people playing horizons it also means that most people know or have at least heard of everyone else which I think works in the games favour in some ways and probably against it in others. Horizons community is the best in MMO even rabid hatebois have stated such on many occasions There is no way the community would be as strong if there was 2.5million people playing (see countless threads on countless forums about wow community)
For some the game is great it has what they are looking for in a game. For others it is pathetic. Not everyone is as bitter and twisted as you are about the game because you feel you were betrayed by DB. Many are not even aware of that or what has been promised on the forums then not followed through on.
Few thousand people playing horizons, rofl yeah right and I need perspective. Even the people on the community site admit the game is in trouble with such low pops. Let me paste a post made awhile ago from wailer it really sets the full picture about DB and how the game is still today.
Please understand you have as much right to your opinions supporting AE as anyone has to dis them but let me correct you on a couple of key issues you seem to be skirting... No one here just woke up one day and decided to start an "I hate DB fanclub". David Bowmans meticulous destruction of the Horizons project was one of the biggest self destructive campaigns in the history of electronic entertainment.
It started with the whole David Allen debacle. I am not going to rehash the DA vs SJ vs DB debate again but here are some facts.. Rather than working as a team with the developers to produce a product DB, and a close circle of co-consiritors, worked against DA for approx 2 months to make sure his credibility was shot with the investors. They were given tasks to show proof of concepts for various engine functionality etc et cand the bottom line is they secretly engaged in secret meetings with the board of directors to userp DA.
Ok so lets put the DA argument aside. Never mind all of the political backstabbing they did inside the company to overthrow him, let's look at some facts.. DB personally stated over and over and over for 8 weeks prior to release and 2 months after release that we werent being shown all of the content of the game. We were only seeing 10% of what they had developed because they didnt want the beta testers to have an advantage over retail players.. Fair enough. I thought that was a cool concept.. however, when I started digging into the beta resources I saw that what we saw was what we got.. there were no "hires" skins, there were no new meshes... no castle objects... no extra mobs... So we took the debates to the boards and thus was born the "miracle build". But how would that work? That would mean gigabytes of updates at release? Oh no it would all work just fine... Release came.. and funny, but the retail CD was the exact same as the beta client.. file for file.. Then DB said oh yes, we couldnt finish the miracle build for retail it will be ready next week... 2-3 weeks went by and they kept quoting one thing after another as reasons they werent able to push the "miracle build" to the servers. Hell they didnt even put any thing on blight.. LOL. Players gave up on the miracle build and moved on...
Dynamic content.. "Players will be able to dynamically interact with the blight and drive it back." Another big selling feature.. Great so we can raise an army and drive back the WA?? hmm.. how? we slaughter the blighted area spawns over and over and yet it stays?? Where is the dynamic blight? Oh we turned off that feature to save resources.... Uh-huh. Any dynamic content at all? Oh yes says DB, you can dynamically build BRIDGES (AMG AMG AMG) and release new races.. err well one new race... So again the player base believed his drivel and worke dtheir tails off building bridges to unlock new landmasses and surprise!!! nada.. Nothing happened.. the bridges were completed and it took up to 2 days for a GM to actually log in and "flip the switch" to turn the bridge on.. Dynamic content? LOL yeah right.. How about the satyrs? Well that was the real joke.. After the bridge fiasco DB swore up and down their dynamic content was all working just fine and when players completed the last mine the race would be freed... heh.. again the player base (or what remaind of it) believed him and busted their asses to complete the mines and free the satyrs.. SURPRISE!!! again 24-48 hours for a GM to log in, go and personally inspect the mines to see it was completed and then turn on the satyr content..
What about the "millions of unique visual customizable crafting graphics" LOL.. I cant recall the exact spin on why that was not working "as intended" but in the end they offered what? 4 different hammer hafts or sword hafts or something? LOL.. Yeah enjoy your millions of crafting combo items..
I guess what it boils down to is this.. DB lied.. He lied over and over and over.. HE lied about anything and everything.. HE lied in his letter to the players to get them to come back and the suckers that took him up ended up getting double and triple billed for their kindness. HE lied about DA, he lied to Turbine when he worked on AC and he lied about the miracle build and every other improvement to the game we were told was coming... I guess the latest lie was that dragon lairs were to be in game by new years eve.. That has now been moved to Jan or Feb on their calander which really means never.. so.. The bottom line is if you want to know why people dis on David Bowman maybe look at Bowmans track record at dissing the players.. Fool me once shame on you, fool me twice shame on me.

Yes you do D0Zer, You can't seem to grasp the fact that not everyone who plays HZ is aware of the history many have not even heard of the miracle build nor that Lairs were supposedly done at release but not included nor a dozen other things.
And yes there are a few thousand people playing probably 3-4k that still actively play at a rough guess It could be more it could be less.
You think 3 to 4k is enough to pay the bills? You really must be kidding, the game is only being keep alive by money from Baker and that will only last so long. Plus people should be warned about the history this game has. Anyway if you really think the game has this great potential then you shouldn't care what I say about it. I don't seem to see any where that I suggested 3-4k people is enough to pay the bills. I stated they have 3-4k people playing which is my rough estimation. My post was not about weather or not it is a failing business but more about the fact you seem to think that because you HATE the game and DB that everyone should be informed of your hatred and slammed if they say anything positive about the game.

I played this game for over a year. it was the first mmorpg I played. At first I hated the beginning there titoral sucks. but when other players showed me what to do I really enjoyed the game. but after a year I did it all and well lets just say it would put me to sleep now. Now I play WOW and find the content unbalievable. Only thing I find better in horizons was the crafting system. I really do miss that part. I can play a game that is buggy but I find play a game that has very little content like horizons. but if they ever change and add a ton of content like whats in WOW I'll come back Oh I hated the fact they did the unlimited vault space atfer merge made it no fair for us that reached 100 the hard way

As it is important for you to call me names I find it important to inform people about this game. To the other poster yes i did enjoy the crafting at start but the thing is after about a month it began to get boring and once I seen it would never be like UO only better (yes I really thought it would be better than UO) that was when I had to quit. More so because of all the bugs and lies told to us by DB. I would love to see a game made with the crafting but also a real game made under that. It just will never happen with HZ and DB. Sad but true.

Horizons when compared to the rest of the MMO world is just not very good. But to the people playing the game it is obviously. It doesn't matter what anyone says they are still going to love the game till they finally get that one last straw that makes them quit. This fact is like the borg it is inevitable and resistance is futile .
But at the same token please do not defend this game when there is no real basis for doing so. Thats like trying to tell me the moon is made out of cheese its just plain false. No one defending the game has any real credibilty truth be told because they just do not have the force on their side . Likewise they shouldn't always feel threatened. One could also say because they play horizons they need to develop thicker skins because they are in the definite minority.
Yes the game is doing better... but is it good enough ? How is it doing better ? its population is stable as in not growing and not shrinking. Those leaving the game are pretty much on par with those joining and returning. Any claim opposite is false all one has to do is play the game without the Bowmanite glasses on.
The game though now under Tulga is still AE it is the same management same principles that did nothing from release to Summer 2004. I mean that they did nothing when you realized that they tripple the number of people working on the game than they do now. One has to wonder what was going on at AE for those months. One also has to contemplate knowing that Tulga and AE are one and the same will they lapse back into the company and people that were working on the game from release to summer 2004.
Patches still read like data entry fixes and Database table adjustments. I hope that when AROP is finished and lairs and even the new starting dragon island is done this can be put behind them once and for all.
Still though in the end Horizons will never ever recover from the fiasco that was release 2003 to Summer 2004. It will also never ever be the premiere MMO title that Bowman a few months ago claimed Horizons was going to be. They simply aren't good enough.
So play the game have fun if it still gives you some entertainment value. But the ressurection and revitlizing of a genre gone stagnant is something that Horizons will never be period. If anything it adds to the genre's issues.

I have been constructive, this game needs two things. Fire DB and the dev's, hire new ones. Then take game down and get a new engine. There is no way they will ever make this game perform the way a mmorpg should with the engine they are using.
I also never attack another poster which really is a very lame way of attempting to shut someone up that is telling the truth about something. After reading the "Horizons Revisited' article, I was thinking of trying this game again. I went to the Horizons Forums - current players of the game think the article is great fiction. They would love to be playing the game mentioned in the article but they say it does not resemble what is in the article. Bowman has been lying through his teeth for the past 18 months. The only way this game stands a chance of getting better is if Bowman disappears. The problems with this game cannot be entirely pinned on Atari.
No you are right. They can mainly be pinned on Atari, and David Allen for blowing all that money before DB finally canned that loser.
And if I went by forums, I would think WoW was the worst game to ever hit the market. It isn't (pretty good actually), but if you go to the forums you read stuff like "Devs you are driving this game into the ground".

HZ really has improved. It is far from perfect, but it is getting better. Now if only they could get that ARoP finished and out the door already....
Yes WOW can have negitive posts but over all with the huge player base they have there is clearly more great comments than bad ones. Also a lot of the negitive posts at WOW are because of people being banned for using exploits. Now saying that no one has ever been banned for using exploits in HZ and I can state there are more exploits in HZ than even AC1 had. Heck for awhile there you could play the game for free and they never knew it (but then again who can say you still can't).

I don't know about the EU server (it is controlled by GN, and only they can ban people), but on the NA servers numerous people have been banned, as well as having XP, gold, hoard, or items taken away from them for exploiting and other things that go against the EULA (extreme verbal abuse, etc).

I thought that was a cool concept.. however, when I started digging into the beta resources I saw that what we saw was what we got.. there were no "hires" skins, there were no new meshes... no castle objects... no extra mobs... So we took the debates to the boards and thus was born the "miracle build". But how would that work? That would mean gigabytes of updates at release? Oh no it would all work just fine... Release came.. and funny, but the retail CD was the exact same as the beta client.. file for file.. Then DB said oh yes, we couldnt finish the miracle build for retail it will be ready next week... 2-3 weeks went by and they kept quoting one thing after another as reasons they werent able to push the "miracle build" to the servers. Hell they didnt even put any thing on blight.. LOL. Players gave up on the miracle build and moved on...
Dynamic content.. "Players will be able to dynamically interact with the blight and drive it back." Another big selling feature.. Great so we can raise an army and drive back the WA?? hmm.. how? we slaughter the blighted area spawns over and over and yet it stays?? Where is the dynamic blight? Oh we turned off that feature to save resources.... Uh-huh. Any dynamic content at all? Oh yes says DB, you can dynamically build BRIDGES (AMG AMG AMG) and release new races.. err well one new race... So again the player base believed his drivel and worke dtheir tails off building bridges to unlock new landmasses and surprise!!! nada.. Nothing happened.. the bridges were completed and it took up to 2 days for a GM to actually log in and "flip the switch" to turn the bridge on.. Dynamic content? LOL yeah right.. How about the satyrs? Well that was the real joke.. After the bridge fiasco DB swore up and down their dynamic content was all working just fine and when players completed the last mine the race would be freed... heh.. again the player base (or what remaind of it) believed him and busted their asses to complete the mines and free the satyrs.. SURPRISE!!! again 24-48 hours for a GM to log in, go and personally inspect the mines to see it was completed and then turn on the satyr content..
What about the "millions of unique visual customizable crafting graphics" LOL.. I cant recall the exact spin on why that was not working "as intended" but in the end they offered what? 4 different hammer hafts or sword hafts or something? LOL.. Yeah enjoy your millions of crafting combo items..
I guess what it boils down to is this.. DB lied.. He lied over and over and over.. HE lied about anything and everything.. HE lied in his letter to the players to get them to come back and the suckers that took him up ended up getting double and triple billed for their kindness. HE lied about DA, he lied to Turbine when he worked on AC and he lied about the miracle build and every other improvement to the game we were told was coming... I guess the latest lie was that dragon lairs were to be in game by new years eve.. That has now been moved to Jan or Feb on their calander which really means never.. so.. The bottom line is if you want to know why people dis on David Bowman maybe look at Bowmans track record at dissing the players.. Fool me once shame on you, fool me twice shame on me.

Yes you do D0Zer, You can't seem to grasp the fact that not everyone who plays HZ is aware of the history many have not even heard of the miracle build nor that Lairs were supposedly done at release but not included nor a dozen other things.
And yes there are a few thousand people playing probably 3-4k that still actively play at a rough guess It could be more it could be less.

I don't seem to see any where that I suggested 3-4k people is enough to pay the bills. I stated they have 3-4k people playing which is my rough estimation. My post was not about weather or not it is a failing business but more about the fact you seem to think that because you HATE the game and DB that everyone should be informed of your hatred and slammed if they say anything positive about the game.

I played this game for over a year. it was the first mmorpg I played. At first I hated the beginning there titoral sucks. but when other players showed me what to do I really enjoyed the game. but after a year I did it all and well lets just say it would put me to sleep now. Now I play WOW and find the content unbalievable. Only thing I find better in horizons was the crafting system. I really do miss that part. I can play a game that is buggy but I find play a game that has very little content like horizons. but if they ever change and add a ton of content like whats in WOW I'll come back
Oh I hated the fact they did the unlimited vault space atfer merge made it no fair for us that reached 100 the hard way
As it is important for you to call me names I find it important to inform people about this game. To the other poster yes i did enjoy the crafting at start but the thing is after about a month it began to get boring and once I seen it would never be like UO only better (yes I really thought it would be better than UO) that was when I had to quit. More so because of all the bugs and lies told to us by DB. I would love to see a game made with the crafting but also a real game made under that. It just will never happen with HZ and DB. Sad but true.
The way this game is it will never pull enough peeps in to really make it profitable. The cool part out of all this I really don't see DB ever getting another job in this market once HZ goes down. Which is exactly why he needs to try and keep this game afloat it is clearly his last chance.

Horizons when compared to the rest of the MMO world is just not very good. But to the people playing the game it is obviously. It doesn't matter what anyone says they are still going to love the game till they finally get that one last straw that makes them quit. This fact is like the borg it is inevitable and resistance is futile

But at the same token please do not defend this game when there is no real basis for doing so. Thats like trying to tell me the moon is made out of cheese its just plain false. No one defending the game has any real credibilty truth be told because they just do not have the force on their side
. Likewise they shouldn't always feel threatened. One could also say because they play horizons they need to develop thicker skins because they are in the definite minority.
Yes the game is doing better... but is it good enough ? How is it doing better ? its population is stable as in not growing and not shrinking. Those leaving the game are pretty much on par with those joining and returning. Any claim opposite is false all one has to do is play the game without the Bowmanite glasses on.
The game though now under Tulga is still AE it is the same management same principles that did nothing from release to Summer 2004. I mean that they did nothing when you realized that they tripple the number of people working on the game than they do now. One has to wonder what was going on at AE for those months. One also has to contemplate knowing that Tulga and AE are one and the same will they lapse back into the company and people that were working on the game from release to summer 2004.
Patches still read like data entry fixes and Database table adjustments. I hope that when AROP is finished and lairs and even the new starting dragon island is done this can be put behind them once and for all.
Still though in the end Horizons will never ever recover from the fiasco that was release 2003 to Summer 2004. It will also never ever be the premiere MMO title that Bowman a few months ago claimed Horizons was going to be. They simply aren't good enough.
So play the game have fun if it still gives you some entertainment value. But the ressurection and revitlizing of a genre gone stagnant is something that Horizons will never be period. If anything it adds to the genre's issues.
I have been constructive, this game needs two things. Fire DB and the dev's, hire new ones. Then take game down and get a new engine. There is no way they will ever make this game perform the way a mmorpg should with the engine they are using.
I also never attack another poster which really is a very lame way of attempting to shut someone up that is telling the truth about something. Maybe you should try being more constructive in your posts by showing some sort of proof what I say is not true. Problem is you know it is so you need to attack.
Go on try it. I tell everyone to get the trial and you know what 90% msg me saying you were right.

No you are right. They can mainly be pinned on Atari, and David Allen for blowing all that money before DB finally canned that loser.
And if I went by forums, I would think WoW was the worst game to ever hit the market. It isn't (pretty good actually
), but if you go to the forums you read stuff like "Devs you are driving this game into the ground".

HZ really has improved. It is far from perfect, but it is getting better. Now if only they could get that ARoP finished and out the door already....

I don't know about the EU server (it is controlled by GN, and only they can ban people), but on the NA servers numerous people have been banned, as well as having XP, gold, hoard, or items taken away from them for exploiting and other things that go against the EULA (extreme verbal abuse, etc).
