hehe, nice analogy. and i found this site that i think the prices are pretty good, i dint get to look at the configurations, but the most expensive they have is 1300$ i think. they have a nice 1700$ laptop thats gotta be as good alienware. oh yea, www.internetishop.com

I dont get allowance.I need to get off my butt and get a job but im too lazy and i cant find a job i really like. (I dont want to work at McDonalds)
+++++++++++++++++++++++++ I no longer dont like Djin very much
+++++++++++++++++++++++++ 98% of the teenage population does or has tried smoking pot. If you're one of the 98% who has, copy & paste this in your signature.
Building is the way to go its cheaper by a mile and since parts carry a warranty you are covered.
First get a large ugly case forget those fancy ones that are slim and sleek you will cry in the end because for one graphics cards tend to be larger nowadays to slot in all those new features I have read of people unable to get the geforce 4ti and radeon pros in.
processors- well i personally love the athlon xp but some like the pent4 better so really down to choice, athlon xp is cheaper though and seems to like overclocking more.pentium 4 2.4 or athlon xp 2400 is what you should aim for .more then enough power there and good price.
Motherboard- if a pent 4 get a IS7 or if a athlon xp K7.I am more into athlons so can speak more of the K7 they are good reliable and cheap.
HDD- 7200RPM is more then fine,no need for the 10k ones and double cost.80 GB is enough for all your games and films.
RAM- 512 DDR or if you plan on playing very large scale battles like planetside get 1GB to eliminate any chance of lagging from that side.RPG and smaller FPS never seems to ask for more then 512 DDR so you probabaly should get one 512 RAM stick now and hold off till you need another if at all.
Graphics card- ah the big debate.Want the smoothest running gaming there is to offer?prepare to spent close to 400 dollars or more.If you are then FX5900 ultra is the most powerful card i market and damn best.Got between 300-400 dollars?radeon 9800 pro is what you want.Second only to the fx5900.
200-300 dollar range. Then what you want is either the radeon 9700 pro or the geforce ti4600.The radeon 9700 pro is still hovering the upper end but outperfms the ti4600 which is at lower end of that price range.Difference is small so consider price a bit here. Now you can get the FX5600 ultra which is more build for direx x 9 for that price but punch for punch this cards blow them away so really little point getting it for sake of it been next generation. The ti4600 is even cheaper and for sure more powerful .I am looking for a radeon 9700 pro myself but waiting for price drop.
Sound card - basically i use the onboard one since i find them more then adequate but if you have a 100 dollars to splash go with the lovely audigy 2 platinum.
Mouse- just get an optical one to aviod cleaning it .30 dollars
speakers- down to how much noise you want to make.Look around .Does not really matter.Megaworks makes very loud crisp speakers.
Monitor- as a gamer avoid the flat panel ones!Only the top line are not problematic for gaming such as the 500 dollar CML top line makes.200 dollars should be set as maximum you willing to spent on a normal monitor IMHO.Normal monitors have very little effect on game play as most have descent refill rates and fall more into the size you want of screen and lifespan.Use your old one if you got.
It would be a good idea if you knew a little more about computers, but in your case, you seem to be doing alright. You're not going to get the best hardware, but it's to bad of a price.
*EDIT
Uiruru, I've worked at four (4) different McDonalds. Now I'm a Vet. Tech. I love my job. I don't make the best money in the world, but I could always move up and do something in the vet. field.

Unless you plan on hauling the pc all over the city I would keep away from the mini pc for sure.
Basically what you see is what it always will be more or less.
You don't get that space freedom for nothing.
Smaller towers means future upgrades is a nightmare.Trust me I used to own a very sleek company build pc that i had to dump after 2 years.
It has one memory slot which means 512 RAM is where it will always stay now and forever.
There is a good possibility you can't get a fx5900 or a ti4600 in that thing.Nvidia highest top range cards are traditionally more bulky and graphics card are not getting smaller.Go look at the geforce2ti and the geforce4ti and you will see what i mean.
A big case and a spacious motherboard is always the key because it means you can upgrade forever till you finally want to dump the motherboard or cpu.
As for building there is not that much risk really because once you decide on your motherboard you can tell exactly what you need from there. The type of RAM and slots is clearly stated. All cards fit in most motherboards and power supply is a breeze to firgure out.
I had no guide on my first build i simply opened the old pc and looked inside and in 30 mins started asemblying it .
Plus one day we all get feed up of paying double price for what it is worth and end up building it.
Also ask aroound you will be shocked how many people can build a pc .If you can change a graphics cards, put in a fan and change RAM you know more then half of it trust me.
yea but murt gets five bucks a day. by time he needs an upgrade he can just get a whole new computer. and i suppose mini-pcs wood be for lan-party goers. right now i use a geforce 2 rig my cuz retired for lan parties, i just leave it at his place though. a mini-pc wood be sweet for that, especially of the 1s with handles. and i forget which 1 it is, but 1 of them can actually fit an fx5900 ultra inside them. id love to see how.
