You all are rediculous for preordering with no release date.
I could see Bioware coming out and saying that release will be Summer 2012, and you all will have to set on that
preorder for a long time.
I love that "Early Access" they throw in there to, what early access 3 days before servers go live. I think there is a lot of open
ended information on that Bioware preorder page that doesn't settle right. I feel to the hype when SWG was launched and
purchased the collectors for that, never again.
Some of you forum users need help its almost like your addicted to a substance the way you all act.
If you're going to buy it now, Summer 2012... or even summer 2013... you're still going to buy it so does it really matter when you buy it.
When you get an email from your bank saying your wages have been paid intoo your account at the same time you get an email telling you about SWTOR Pre-orders... you know it's a sign... so I bought the Digital Delux Edition, I never bother with box sets anymore, I own too much crap I have no space elft to store it.
One thing I think you all will agree on is the Greed of Lucas Arts. Why would Lucas Arts have Sony cancell SWG if the release date for TOR was in the summer? Wouldn't Lucas Arts want Sony to continue paying them for the use of their intelectual property untill the month of release of the new game? Look for a December or January at the latest release date(IMO). Bioware and LA know there is a ton of hype about the game so they are gonna stick it to all of us on the cost. I may play the game after it has been out for 6 months if it is worth it but will never buy into any game before the public has a chance to critique it.
How many games have you read about that were gonna be the next greatest thing since Wow? How many of you jumped in and bought the game only to find it needs about another 6 months of developement time? Most games that I have been interested in have offered a free trial period after 6 months into the game release. The game developers know they fucked up by releasing a buggy game. It is unfortunate that their dreams didn't translate well into computer code.
The Old Republic maybe a fine game but will it be fun to play? I know the fine players on this website will let me and anyone else that may want to play this game know in short order. To all the players that buy the game on or before day 1, I look forward to your opinions.
How much does Amazon charge for the pre-order of the CE? Is it a small upfront amount like Gamestop, etc or do they charge the full price or do they not charge at all until the game ships? Any information will be appreciated, thanks in advance.
no sharge on amazon till it ships. I ordered the CE there and no charge on my account

Preordered this morning, got the key and registered it on swtor, and now the waiting game continues
Where did you order from, and how did they give you the key. I ordered from origin and didn't get a key.
I got an email from origin about 15 minutes later, lag on my email server. My wife got hers like 5 minutes later. So keep checking your inbox, and check your spam as my reciet went into my spam folder. It has the key on it and I applied it already.

You DO realize that you don't pay anything to pre-order, right? You just guarantee a copy and they charge you when they ship it. They also give you a head start key so you don't have to wait to recieve the game to play. Sooo.... no charge... guarantee of the CE, and head start key. Yes, we are all ridiculous. Have fun waiting in line, though.

Amazon only hits you with a 1.00 verification charge to validate your CC. It then drops off after a couple of days. Maybe other sites charge something though, not sure. For me though, no charge.
Hilarious marketing move from EA/Bioware. I'll wait until the official launch to get the game. Also people dont seem to learn from past mistakes, you all jump at the chance to preorder the moment it's announced.
Available for Pre-order. This item will be released on December 31, 2011.
Would Amazon lie?
Oh hell yes, they would :P

that's the meaning of a pre order ^^
to give the devs some additional fundings to create their product.
buying it 2 days before the pre order phase ends surely will work, but is not 100% intentional
also, i preordered a few games from EA by now, and didnt regret a single one of it.
so, where is my past mistake i should learn from?
and @ice: kk, so i guess EA/bioware did not release an official date yet
"I'll never grow up, never grow up, never grow up! Not me!"
I preordered the digital version from Origin and got 2 emails - one saying my preorder request had been received and another with an order confirmation and order number.
The order confirmation email tells me to go redeem my preorder code, but there isn't one in that email, or the first email. Did anyone else have this happen? I found it a bit strange to get confirmation of an order and told to go register with the "serial code above" and there isn't one...
I have the same exact issue. I have called EA, I have called Origin, I have turned over tables, and no one knows anything except that "your order was complete". If it has complete, where the hell is my damn code? I don't even have my order in my order history in my Origin.com account. Pathetic.

Anybody else notice it said estimated date was holiday 2011. So I am guessing December at the latest possibly Thanksgiving. Was hoping for September.
But I got my copy and the wifes copy.
