    Okay . . here is what I have seen so far. . positive and negative:

    +the way a new character starts is much better - there are some short messages telling you how to move etc.  This is a huge plus for getting new people into the game or past the inital stages of the trial

    -the UI for this is even worse than other interface issues.  Pressing 'Z' brings up the mouse. . but you have to hold 'Z' to click on the tips to access them.  If you let go of 'z' for a second by accident you have to exit mouse mode by hitting Z and then hold Z down again.  This is the only menu that I have seen that functions this way. . why not just use the mouse mode.  This is one of the issues that bother me the most. .great ideas - half thought out and implementated in a half-arsed way.

     

    + skill gain is sorted a bit. . you talk to a guy at the beginning and you learn the two gathering skills. . once you swing a sword you start learning sword skill.  Getting rid of the books for these as well as jumping etc. was long overdue!  It is a great change.

    +there are a few more points of interest and detail added to the landscape that makes the game feel even more alive than it was before.  I was in  Vadda and it had a lot of activity going on. 

    +tasks:  I think these are a great addition especially for new players to get started

    +undead rabbits

    -still seems to be a lot of coding issues.  After I killed an undead rabbit and gathered its corpse I tried to equip my pick axe.  For some reason this made me eat some of the rabbit corpse (yummy) and my pickaxe dissapeared.  I was more than frustrated by this. . moving my sword onto my inventory screen made me eat again.  After a bit of messing around I moved my rabbit corpse in my inventory and my pickaxe was underneath it.  I seem to recall this being an old issue . . still not resoved?  I could see if it was a DF style inventory sustem. . but this is slots!

     

    That is it from my initial impressions.  There are enough fixes and changes to make me consider resubbing but evertime something like the missing pick-axe happens I am reminded of why I stopped playing.

    The corrected archery is really good.  They are still soliciting feedback on it in the official forums, to determine what additional tweaks need to be made.  Some of the earlier discussions revolved around adding a few new skills that would beef up archery, expecially for those specializing in it.  It's effective at this point, but doesn't seem to be particularly overpowered.  It should be interesting to see where they go with archery over time.

    To Aethaeryn: Good points overall, though I don't have much current experience with some parts of your discussion.  Definitely agree with the changes to skill acquisition and gains - it's much better than it was at launch.

    Anyhow, let's stay focused on the jist of this OP which is the sale and reactivation of the accts.   I ran the patcher, but just can;t bring myself to login... maybe over the weekend.. dunno.

    The larger issues, by FAR, were the wobble while aiming and the lack of range, both of which have been corrected.  The circle of randomness was eliminated with Dawn, so you essentially sight down the shaft now.  It's much better than before.

    i havent really noticed an increase in population, although my guild was fielding 30 players it could at a psuh do that beofre dawn. However i havent been to any city except gk and to siege some houses in a remote spot, so im guessing the vast majority of people are aronud the guarded cities still :( hopefully the ai and pve update will bring those people out of the cities.

    there are 2 types of mmo, imitators and innovaters.

    No I meant just the "gather mushroom" type of thing.  It helps people get into the world as a new player and maybe get some coins to buy a new pickaxe.  That is too bad about the mail system though.  I was looking foward to that.   So many issues with duping.

     Mail system is fine. It's the task system that was turned off for the moment.

    That is exactly what I said the mail TASK system.  I put it bigger so you have no trouble reading it.

    I hope this game gets a massive number of subs so that this game will continue to get improved and some day be the biggest MMORPG !

     

    Hopefully They do fix the issues the game has now but at least they made the game playable. Compaired to release the game is amazing.

    Throwing money at incompetent people does not somehow make them competent.

     

    The game will be broken for years to come (provided it's around that long), the amount of subscribers really doesn't matter.
