In months time with the real money auction house, I can see my self earning the money back:
1. buying the game
2. and earning more to pay for my cable monthlies
3. and earning more to pay for my cellphone monthlies
4. and earning more to pay for gas and transportation expenses
5. and earning more to pay for groceries
6. and.... you know where I'm going when you get an opportunity to EARN REAL MONEY
while sitting lazy passing/WASTING time playing a video game. I've done it with powerleveled WoW account trading, EVE market paying for my EVE subscriptions, and selling to gold sellers. Now I'll be able to do it the legal way.

I have to agree to an extent, TL2 is a Diablo clone, where D3 is a bastardized child that has lost it's way. So TL2 will be more Diablo than D3. Helps that TL2 has Erich Shaefer.

Nah, unlike D3 there won't be forced online play so it's not going to be treated like an MMO. D3 will recieve special attention from RMT due to some very poor decisions, TL2 won't be effected by these as it will be treated like a non MMORPG. Having an all star roster doesn't mean squat without good leadership. TL2 sadly seems to have better leadership going for them. D3 is pulling stuff out of Smedleys play book of fail. 2 people don't make a team, but having the right guys running the show can make or break your game. In this case TL2 has 2 of the original creators that managed to create a game that became a huge success, D3 so far is getting racked over the coals right now for a ton of bad bad decisions.
If you have any references to backup your claims i'd be glad to check them out otherwise I'm just going to assume this is rage because Blizzard conducts business in the way others will also start doing so to protect their wallets. Like it or not.
I think I'll just buy Torchlight 2 and hope for a diablo 3 demo. I already enjoyed torchlight so I have no reason to not get Torchlight 2 but diablo 3's auction house does bother me. Although (I said Although damn it!) if diablo 3 has a demo that I enjoy enough I'll get it as well.

In EVE you can use real money to by a plex then sell it to other players for in game cash which you use to buy in game items. (Basically trading real life money for ingame items) I really didn't see any problem with it or with what Blizzard is doing.

So much for securing Blizzard's money by thwarting gold farmers, when you have an ENTIRE nation of willfull hackers at your fingertips you can do anything.

The second best reason to play this game, having more time to play my Engineer while waiting for their MMO to be released, most likely it will be developed by at least some of the WoW developers that Blizz Execs have stepped on on the way to the top and will know exactly how to blow Blizz right out of the market.

Torchlight 2 will be better, however Diablo 3 will sell more for one reason only. They have a better PR team. I swear while IMO blizzard has only makes only half-decent games it's their PR team that makes them sell. oh, and a large number of fans that will buy whatever blizzard puts their label on.

But I can say that I will buy T2 and not D3, Blizzard seems to have turned into SOE with this game (EQ 1 & 2 have had special servers where you can buy and sell for real money for many years) and I will not encourage behaviour like that.

Saying one is "better" than another is a subjective statement. While the points may be true, the popularity of the games will still be based on features AND style. I personally like the style of Diablo better, so that'll be my pick.

With all those "reasons for T2 to be better than D3", Torchlight 2 will be so pirated it could not ever hope to approach D3 sales.
Those things aside, I dislike Torchlight artwork, I'm sure many others do too. Can't really say anything against D3 artwork. It's top-notch.
