Looks cool. However, how cool is this really going to be after playing through the same senario 10,000 times?
If you play through it 10,000 times it must be really, really cool.
I'm wondering the same things. It does look cool, but how fun is a raid going to be when it's just a raid with a Star Wars skin? Even the first time it's still the same old stuff - learn the dance, do the dance, do the dance over again until you learn the next part of the dance...and so on.
I wonder if they'll have information on their end game PvP stuff.
The "dance" you talk about it is one of my main complaints with raids. Everything is set up just so, without alteration, and the key to victory is memorizing steps. Go through a raid once or twice and it's fun, but then you learn the moves and it becomes more like watching a movie with you hitting your keyboard every now and then as opposed something you're actually engaging with in real time. Your need to pay attention is minimal as once you know the moves there's little if anything to catch you off guard, and the need for on-the-fly strategy changes to account for dynamically shifting events and enemy tactics is non-existent.

You give people too much credit, people can't even raid now without addons doing their work for them.

Well that was...underhelming. Expected some fight against a tougher boss instead of "second line wipe". Mostly they've shown videos instead of real gameplay, why can't they show ingame stuff.
The Bioware CEO came off very arrogant claiming they are changing the way MMORPGS are being made from now on.
We need a MMORPG Cataclysm asap, finish the dark age of MMORPGS now!

Read...mostly...I know the fight was real but the other stuff were either ingame cinematic or trailers.

It's ok not to like raiding, but some people loves it, it's what they want. Why does Formula 1, rally drivers, runners, sprinters etc do the same thing 10,000 times over and over again? They like competition, they want to be better, they want to win and they want the rewards for being good at what they do. It pretty much applies to raiding too and shares the basic principle.
I personally dont like end-game raiding much, and Bioware better have something else for (MEANINGFUL) end game too, or it's just class stories and quits for me, I hope not since SW world is so rich and fun that it would be nice to stay a while longer! But then again, I dont know anything untill the game is out and I try it, maybe I'd even get interested in raiding since the group size is smaller than usually, so it should be less organizing and second jobbing and more about getting the job done!
...oh and, LIGH-TE-NING STORM! I was so going to be a Sith warrior for first/main, and now I'm on the edge, very nice gfx for the lightning! ^_^
That didn't look epic at all to be honest. Even Wow instanced look better for me. But I'm a gw2 fanboy so.. =p
It didn't look bad, but I was expecting more. These really need to be full previews. More teases are week for a MMO that's supposedly being released in 4 months.
Its a raid people, wth are you expecting? Thats why its nice that it has raids, but it is even MORE critical that it has something OTHER than raids for endgame.
Well I love raiding but that was not raiding, sorry 8, 10 or even 12 people != raid!
Raids should be massive I even think 24 is too small for an epic raid. 40+ is the way to go.

I would have been more worried if the test group had gone through the whole raid on first attempt. At least it looks like the raids in SWTOR are challenging unlike in some other raid or die games.
So those statements Bioware made a while back about "heroic combat" and "not 20 people beating on one big mob" yeah.....what happened to that? I guess they can always fall back on "hey! its 8 people beating on one giant mob instead of 20, thus making it heroic".....seriously guys is this the best you could think of? Where did all that money go? On CGI cinematics? Voice-acting? I was hoping with such a large investment being brought into this that we could at least break away from the 6 foot character beating on the foot of a 50 foot mob. It looked completley ridiculuous, especially when they were taking out those gun platforms, lol, they were standing there hitting the base of the tower, how awkward is that?
And to those saying the animations look great, was I watching the same video? They looked horrible, I mean like downright horrible, like this game was made back in 1999. The healer animations involved what? Pulling out a device and clicking a button it looked like. The air strike and lightning storm animation was what? For the agent it involved the character putting its right to its right ear, then watching rockets fall from the sky, so is there an invisible space ship up there? Its just so sad, all this time and money and for what? At least make it look visually more pleasing if you are just going to be doing more of the same....well hopefully the leveling aspect is fun (from what I hear its the best part of the game) so I can enjoy some star wars lore, then wait 2 years for this game to get flushed out to a final product.
Looks cool. However, how cool is this really going to be after playing through the same senario 10,000 times?

It has to be this way, because 95% of MMO players are morons. Much like humanity in general.
Looked to me like any other boss fight from every other themepark MMO game out there. Kind of like riding the Texas Giant here in TX at Six Flags and then going to Six Flags in say Georgia and riding the "Georgia Giant". Same ride, different coat of paint.
Least that's the way it looked to me. *shrug*

I'm a huge Star Wars nerd and that gameplay doesn't excite me in the slightest.
Looking good Much better than WoW :P
So why did you watch it? don't you have anything better to do with your life than look at loser videos? How sad for you.

If you don't worry about it, it's not a problem.
Looked ok. Nothing to sneeze at, but nothing great, either. Not sure why I can't get into this game.

God, that looked REALLY REALLY bad! They think they'll retain subscribers for more than 6months with this? Sad

Of course it looks bad to someone who admitted they hated raiding...

fans are gonna love it, but god does this game look dated and dull.
rpg/mmorg history: Dun Darach>Bloodwych>Bards Tale 1-3>Eye of the beholder > Might and Magic 2,3,5 > FFVII> Baldur's Gate 1, 2 > Planescape Torment >Morrowind > WOW > oblivion > LOTR > Guild Wars (1900hrs elementalist) Vanguard. > GW2(1000 elementalist), Wildstar
Now playing GW2, AOW 3, ESO, LOTR, Elite D
