Star Wars: The Old Republic: Game Test Weekends Begin September 2nd

Outside of World PvP, the major announcement for Star Wars: The Old Republic at this year's PAX Prime is a begin date for the highly-anticipated game test weekends.

At the panel, BioWare announced that gamers can expect the game test weekends beginning next weekend, September 2nd.

UPDATE: Also, please keep in mind that pre-ordering the game does NOT affect your chances of getting into the test weekends!

    I just nearly fell to the floor with that announcement, i could be playing by september 2nd, thats like no time at all.

    I'll finish up Venticia go to work for a week and could be in TOR by then? Heres hoping my luck with the beta weekend is better then it was with beta testing :)

    Help me Bioware, you're my only hope.

    Is ToR going to be good? Dude it's Bioware making a freaking star wars game, all signs point to awesome. -G4tv MMo report.

    Have we seriously waited the last 2 to 3 years for this! Im unsure if it went slow or quick but I know ITS HAPPENING! The Hype is over! ANd so it begins.... PUBLIC TESTING!

    Very nice news!  So does that mean the first wave of invites could be released in the next few days to give us time to DL the client?

     

    Time to set up an alarm to alert me whenever I get an E-Mail about SW:TOR...muhahahah!

    Hmmmm..... I could be wrong, but I believe they said they were expanding the invites for beta next week.  They never actually said it was the start of the beta weekends that people have been waiting on.

    I hope the op is write and I am wrong, but that's the way it sounded to me.

    Sounds good! It looks like things are finally starting to ramp up. I don't mind if I am not selected to participate as it will keep the gameplay fresh. That and it's getting close.

    Was hoping they were going to give people with Pre-ordereds.  Better odds of getting in.  At least they are having beta weekends, so can't complain too much.

    We need a MMORPG Cataclysm asap, finish the dark age of MMORPGS now!

    With increasing the amount of people testing im guessing there will be another announcement this week stating NDA will be lifted? Or did I miss something and they already mentioned it?

    I'll wait for release, even though I have the t option to be in it. I don't want to experience any content until release. Have fun getting those bugs out the way for release days guys! Nice of you! ;p
