If you got to choose the "Theme / Setting" for the next big MMO, what would it be?
Would it take place on earth? sci-fi? sword & board fantasy? elves? vampires? post-apoc?
What is your theme?

My ideal setting would be something like He-Man: A combination of fantasy, sci-fi, and comic-like characters.
Firefly, should the IP ever be available for MMO development with no Fox strings attached (lest it get cancelled and die an untimely and very lamentable death).
I am convinced there is only one way to eliminate these grave evils, namely through the establishment of a socialist economy, accompanied by an educational system which would be oriented toward social goals.
~Albert Einstein
Cyberpunk, low-tech and hightech factions in a futuristic setting or completely made up world/time.
Post apocalyptic, disease ridden, steam punk, dungeons and dragons.
Just to question the philosophy. Army of Socrates.
An MMO with the same sort of setting as Arcanum would be pretty awesome.
I would definetly move away from the traditional MMO though and employ techniques from newer games with regards to combat and general mechanics such as questing. I would love to see a more thorough RPG element to the game, maybe have a look at games like Vanguard and see how they implement the RPG aspect of their game and draw from that.

Something similar to Robotech or Mechwarrior...where's my giant robot MMO?!?!?!?
I would like a MMO based on the Warcraft-franchise....
No, but seriously, The Wheel of Time is my dream MMO.
Dragon Quest..
Time Bandits MMO !!!!!!!!!

I would like a MMO based on Stargate.
There was one in making called Stargate Worlds but it got cancelled.
I wouldn't mind seeing either a elder scrolls mmo, or a dragon age mmo.
Not that it would ever happen, but how about a Farscape MMO?

<childish, provocative and highly speculative banner about your favorite game goes here>
I'd like to see a "classic" low-magic Fantasy in the vain of the Lord of the Ring story telling aka Tolkein not Turbine.
Magic is rare and extremely powerful yet not flashy and "shooting fireballs out of your fingers" kind of magic.
No player magic then, sorry kids.
AAA Sandbox PVE MMORPG.
Western made.
Realistic graphics and armor/weapons in both size and function.
Maybe Oblivion/Skyrim type FPS RPG combat.
Sci-fi should be great. MODE (men, orcs, dwarves, elves) Fantasy also work fine with me, as long as dwarves are called dwarves, not poporis, or elves are called elves, not castanics.
Medieval, ancient etc set is for rts, imo. Post apoc, zombies ... not interested.
Guild Wars, but the Sequel. With a couple of new classes and professions, several races to play as, and an open world to play in, with real time dynamic events and of course, amazingly interactive PvP.
Would be alright, wouldn't it?
Completely Aquatic MMO.
Several different aquatic races, underwtaer cities (Some in shielded bubbles, some not)...and dangers like the usual predatorial creatures (Sharks, Octopus, etc.), as well as other unusual creatures and surface dangers such as humans hunters (Fisherman).
Either wild west or modern warfare.
The Little Mermaid Online. I like it :P
A Greek mythology setting.
Really? This game sucks and Im not having fun? Im going to unsub right now. Thanks for the tip.
I'd like this as well... but with clay-like character movements. Much like the creatures from the classic Clash of the Titans.
Fallout 3 Universe (50's retro-future, scifi, post apocalyptic)
Wild, Wild West (Cowboy, Victorian scifi)
Lovecraft (20's, Cthulhu Mythos)
Bioshock (20's - 40's retro-future, scifi)
Zombie Survival (modern urban, post apocalyptic, scifi, aliens, dimensional portals and magic possible but not necessary)
That's about all I can think of.
I can not remember winning or losing a single debate on the internet.
Dune ( From Frank Herbert ).
