I see content developers; so how is CCP going to 'refocus on Flying in Space'?
Or... was I a fool into thinking CCP was going to do something good for the playerbase?
It is the game designers and managers staff that are responsible for the game as it is so unless we see more shifts at those positions, I doubt anything will change at CCP.
Fire the game design team completely I say.
So how does one 'focus on FiS' without content?
God, if they would have just listened to the CSM, we wouldn't be in this mess.
If anyone wants to know how a portion of the EVE community is reacting, search for 'Tweetfleet' on Twitter.

Problem with EVE/CCP is that they keep caving to their whining player base. They even have something akin to a player's union if i'm not mistaken right? They should just go freemium and they would make more money.

CSM has no qualification nor responsibility to be listened to and I clearly pointed that out, in linked thread and even now illustrated that Mittani is no more than trolling idiot.
Probably you should re-read the worthless dev blog again because Petrusson never said anything about "listening to community", neither said there was anthing wrong with Incarna content wise. He apologized for "little things" only, not the development direction.
What went wrong with Incarna, and what was the content of Petrusson's letter, was the expansion execution and that is mostly an issue of CCP management and game design team. And that, is nothing new at CCP...
I'd like everyone to ask themselves this question,
"If you were a developer that truly loves the game you work on and play would you advocate the introduction of a cash shop into the said game, even though financially it wasn't required to maintain the game and software house?"
The industry hivemind is of the opinion that cash shops are the way of the future and that the days of subscription games are waning. Not everyone agrees, but it's not entirely unreasonable to put some thought into how to add a backup business model in the event that the culture of consumers changes. However, my opinion is that through PLEX, Eve was already microtransaction-enabled and that an item shop was redundant. But it's easy to be an armchair quarterback.

You do realize the dev-blog and the thread you posted on is still available to be viewed right?
I mean, I know we are on an internet forum, but trying to twist something when one can just click and look at the posts is a bit puzzling to me.

Thanks guys. This is what you get for complaining like little bitches. Layoffs.
So people should play games they don't like just to keep other people employed? Ridiculous.
How bout blaming whoever is responsible for introducing the changes and how they were handled that made players unhappy?
Blame the executive management?? What a horrible idea! You obviously don't understand the complex nature of business and/or government. ^^ I was rather expecting this. CCP is reacting in a quite predictable corporate fashion.
If CCP ever offered a PvE server they'd get my money again. I was very impressed with the uniqueness of the game when I played it, but I simply cannot stand non-consentual pvp.
couldn't they just leave Eve as is, scrap Dust514 and put the majority of their efforts into WoD? Oh well, hope that GW2 keeps me entertained long enough for WoD to come out.
I suspect they are in WAY too deep with their Chinese partners to back out at this point. Axing most of the WoD staff was the least unpleasant alternative. I'm sorry to see it happen, but they have brought it on themselves. Hilmar needs to step down, and let someone else see if they can salvage the game.

COMPLETELY agree - I'd be back INSTANTLY!!!

Huh?

Who says anything about focusing on "community" ? Listening to this CSM would be the worst CCP could do as illustrated above....
CCP said they will be listening to the community more didn't they?
Isn't that what the Dev blog was?

For anyone that wants to know more, I actually made a thread 6 weeks ago about EVE. I guess it really was a junction.
