lol im with preston, all the companies that have been producing MMORPG's are spitting em out like nothing but guess what... they aren't the game that everyone wants. i don't think this game is vaporware, not in the least. where would they be getting all of these screens if it was?
they are probably just trying to make the game work without having to release it because of everyone wanting it then having to patch the hell out of it because they didn't really finish it. indeed it's been a long time but once they release it, it will be one of the best games of all time.

Darkfall is not vapourware. Just so you know. Don't believe the idiots talking out their asses thinking they know something because they believe there is no information out there.
I don't think their funding is a problem either.

Ok, that is a link to a page which shows the status of a trademark application dated February, 2005.

Wierd how a game so awesome has all these people that "seem" to wish it was vaporware. Well it isn't, unfortunately for you and fortunately for those of us who like good games.

I dont wish it was vaproware anymore than you do. But I still dont see talk of beta... I see updates every few months (bad) that just might be keeping us on a leash. Dont you think if they had fixed the trademark issue that document would have been updated like it had been before?
I hope the game does come out I love full pvp and all that. After the last few MMOs I spent years waiting for just to be dissapointed im uneasy about them.
As much as I'm worried about lack of ANY sort of updates (Interviews in my opinion are not updates) since technically years, I'm still hoping that the game is released. If they do release it, it'll be probably one of the biggest MMORPG hits after UO and EQ (Not comparing gameplay to EQ, just noting overall popularity).
As popular saying says, prepare for the worst and hope for the best.
I agree, if it does ever come out, it will be great, but I have seen the light & realize it is not coming out. I mean how small is that team?
The game is 100% vaporware. I've followed it for 3 years and I know bullshit when I see it. Anyone who disagrees is just a very very desperate person who is a hardcore UO player and will be ignored becuase they're too desperate to take a rational look at the situation.

Anyone remember a game called "shadowbane"?? I know of some people that followed that game for more than 3yrs and the game still came out so what are you all talking about?
To the person that used wow as blizzards first mmo are a little behind on things. Remember diablo?
Diablo is there first game that they made alot of money with as well. You might want to consider that this team thats making Darkfall doesnt have SONY like money behind them----or even blizard like money backing them up.

maybe they started a small corporation in order to get funded by the European Union. I know you get 50% of your budget/expenses in Greece cause me and meh mates where talking about making a software house here.
Now as you might have probably guessed. i am greek, which makes me quite capable of finding out if DF is really vaporware or not. Since i live in Athens i could even try paying the dudes at Aventurine a visit. No address is mentioned in any of their sites but they re only an email away.

I hope the game comes out BUT just because a game reaches Beta doesnt mean its not vaporware ala wish:(
This much time and developement into the game, if it WERE vaporware I don't doubt it would have been cancelled in its infant stage a long long time ago. If anything, the game has only progressed more and more content wise (this is coming from someone who was watching the website back when it was 4 people working on it and saying "shadowbane and darkfall are going to be the end of Asheron's Call).
It isn't VW and it's not going to die anytime soon, aside from Vanguard this is the most promising looking MMO as of late. Not to mention they just recently released info, and if you look at the actual amount of info out there, they've already said a ton. Just because they don't update weekly with progress reports doesn't mean anything. I'd rather they work on the game then give us daily updates on which textures they tweaked and how many variations of rusty sword143 they finished.
It'll come out soon enough and I don't doubt that it will be very well received when it goes into beta.
