I havent been following this too closely, but just from what I have seen this is sneaky business practice...

Makes me wonder about other game companies... if one guy is doing it you can bet others are

The first and the third sound ludicrous, you completely discredit any credibility you built in this thread with some of your valid complaints. If you still are buying into the Mourning was a scam theory then you aren't much smarter then they are. As for the second, perhaps. You all seem to be forgetting the fact that Dave owned the software and he could have pulled it out from underneath the current dev team. I have never seen a group of people other then those that play SWG confuse the publisher/developer relationship.

My was an answer to someone question about what happened to Mourning.
Because we don't know anything sure since there hasn't been an official post or such, we can only talk of speculations.

I just listed the possible scenarios with the third being more of a joke than anything else.
Plus you might have noticed that the second option has the (most popular rumor) at the end of the sentence, which means that it is the most likely solution.
The first option is what most people thinks and you can't deny that, although it doesn't necessary means that is what I think.

So put some ice cubes into your pants and chill out a bit.

The second is a rumor by some low rate sites that have gotten alot of their information from here and other flame threads about Mourning. To date there is nothing solid that has come out that could even be close to credible, even for a rumor.

Thats just it, you answered someone that was asking, do you think he would know which was a joke and which was real? Show alittle responsibility, that is what this crusade that many of you are here for is about right, responsibility?

And yes I can deny that, last time I checked other then a few pissed off people that got taken for about $20 (rightly so I might add, however hardly a majority) knew it was idiocy that was dictating Mournings current state and not some conspiracy theory.

I am sorry to disappoint you, but the 2nd rumor has started on Mourning IRC by the devs themselves and has been passed over by the fanboys.

This is a fact, and whether they did it for greed or incompetence doesn't make too much of a difference, does it?
In the eye of the comunity they are very umprofessional people, and for most of them, they are scammers, and if you deny it, that means that you live in another planet.

PS: Personally I don't believe they are professional scammers but I am a minority, I believe that they are the most incompetent people in this business, which btw for me it s even worse
Although I have to say that I understand people that thinks they are scammers, since charging full price and a monthly fee for a game in Beta without any warning, I admit it smell a bit fishy..........

My believe at this point is that unfortunately we gonna see more of Mourning, and I am sure that very little in term of mismanagement, will change.

I hadn't heard about the IRC channel statements, however at this time I don't even consider the staff credible. They have proven time and time again they will lie to keep themselves above water.

As for proof, I presume you mean with Dave pulling the plug on them? Total speculation, however, Ego himself did state that Dave had the right to take the software from them, that he owns the game in completeness. Once again, that comes from staff, so its not credible but it would explain why all the sudden changes. Just getting a new investor would not justify killing the forums and pulling the site for a site that probably won't come back for a very long time.

As for you claiming I am insulting the people here. I have too disagree, the average person that has not kept up with things here may not know the difference, but I did take your word that one was a joke, so I am not sure why your holding me too that one with the comments about the other readers. I was referring to the other 2.

Double billing happened to less than 10 customers total. Probably way less than that. Some of them have just been very vocal about it (julieblue for instance)
Early billing: the billing happened no more than 5 working days before the shipment was processed, that "early" thing is grossly exagerated (and every single companies out there bill before they ship, it's very standard business - what's not is not to warn about it)
Charging for beta: Aye the game wasn't ready for release. This happened for many other games, but it's true that for Mourning it was going farther than usual.

My believe at this point is that unfortunately we gonna see more of Mourning, and I am sure that very little in term of mismanagement, will change.

Except if the game totally changed hands in term of producers. The concepts still are solid ad unique, and if we forget about the whole commercial mess and consider the game in an early beta stage, it has a ton of potential

I am not real convinced in JDodgers story there. Even if he is telling the truth that was a horrible interview and way to present whats going on to the public. An official public statement on the site would have been alot more appropriate, even if it was the only thing there. Which again makes me question his truth, since its only getting presented via word of mouth with no official statement from any of the companies involved.

But I think that in 6 to 9 months, Mourning will be nothing a memory of what not to do in the mmo market and will be the butt of many future jokes.

As in someone says, "Hey Bob, did you play the new 'Xtreme Online' from Sony? Naw, It sucks and is nothing but a "Mourning" followed by understanding laughter.

That "news" story was classic!!! Neither JDodger or the mod could speak any resemblence to english or make a decent discussion. I think that JDodger is just being used a pawn to make people think that Mourning is coming back, when it is quite obivious that it is dead.
