BigWorld have some great technology. I remember seeing some of their server stuff (zoning and balancing) a couple of years ago (maybe 3 or 4 years ago now!) and even then it was very impressive as to the potential of games that would be developed on it. Their site shows some hard-to-see videos of the various technologies they have. And DnL is the proof of that - there's a truly inspiring terrain system, a pretty neat weather system, the overall look of the models and whatnot certainly isn't the same as say WoW or EQ2 but most companies don't have the resources (read: money) of Sony or EA or Microsoft or Turbine to throw at artists and engine writers.
DnL is a great effort basically by an unknown company out to prove that you don't need to be as big as those companies I just mentioned to have a product that deserves the same respect. I'm not hanging for the Beta (Beta's are NOT the game, and testers shouldn't expect that). I'm glad the beta is partially closed because it stops most people who just want to play it early from shunning incomplete features or promoting exploits.
I AM hanging out for the final gold release, astudiously avoiding Toon-Town the Game ("World of Warcraft").

Since GW has been released. This is the Game I am most looking forward to right now. I have one problem tough. DnL looks as if it will have the same problem that EQ2 has, the ugly armor and Character Models.

I have never been more confused about what game I want to play than I am now lol...That first movie is very nice and I love the size of the game world yikes its big lol. Everyone on one server hmm I like that.

You would think if it had that much interest that they would be abler to find a publisher now wouldn't you. You will have to excuse me if I am bit suspicious here. Thats higher numbers than EQII has and no one will even put up enough venture capitol to press the disks and distribute the boxes..ummm sure..
