SW:TOR Server Maintenance

As per usual we the EU get shafted once again, if its not release dates & centralised EU depts

for customers services, it maintenance at peak times to suit the americans gaming times, which

i think is an insult to a large part of their & every other games playerbase.

Servers went down at 10:00am & will stay down until 4:00pm WTF!? 6hrs.

6hrs!? what the hell are they doing for 6 bloody hours?

So far this game has consisted of 1-3hr ques allday everyday (unless you get on at 8:00pm)

now most of my precious gaming time is to be taken away only to have the game be handed

back later with a que of about 1-3hrs again...

Very dissapointing tbh image

I agree, it should always be seperate maintenance.

There is several topics on this on the official forum, and I think, by the amount of responses to them that this will get get changed.

No one likes having half a day taken away, and on a bank holiday. Not good!

But as i said, I think they will realise that soon.

    1.  10 AM to 4 PM is NOT peak time.  It isn't ideal, and I would thik they should move it at least 3 hours earlier, but it ISN'T peak time.

    2.  Seperate server maintenence is naive at best.  Apart from the fact that the servers would be offset, does anyone who offers this as a solution ever think about what would actually happen if one set of servers went down and the other was left up?  The servers that were up would either be unplayable, or have queues that would be endless.

Better that they do it all at once.  And for the EU player complaining about "peak" time...  It's my normal play hours too, so I'm just as much out of game time as you are.  And don't most people in EU work between 10-4?

    NOT peak time.  >.<

Indeed highly annoying but not really much of a suprise. How these companies cant sort this sort of basic admin out before their forums errupt is beyond me... oh no wait those geniuses linked their forums to the downtime also...Brilliant!

I feel ya, I work alternating swing and graveyard shifts, so this IS my prime time. Oh well :( WOW's downtimes became less severe after a while, here's hoping TOR's do as well.

WRONG, at that timeframe in europe you should be normally working and the US should be sleeping so its all good.

  • gambe1gambe1 Member UncommonPosts: 123

10am - 4 pm prime time? Yeah for people without jobs, school or any real life probably.

  • herculeshercules Member UncommonPosts: 4,925

you forget that thats gmt some people in europe are 3-4 hrs ahead of that makes it 7pm for them which indeed is prime time.

then you got the queues if you are a full server which can last another 1-3 hrs .do the maths and you could be stuck till near bedtime before you get on.

Yup, some people but not majority. Some people are working afternoons and their prime time is after midnight. How would they feel? :O

Majority of people is playing after 5 pm until 11 pm. That is prime time.

You got a point. Im GMT+2 which means for me the game servers are comming back at 6pm.

WoW did reimburse players with free days during the server down periods of the afterlaunch season.

Not if you do it during off peak times for each others, its not rocket science really, do the European maintenance at 3-6 am here, and do the same for US, barelly anyone would be playing

They did, but servers then were offline for days, or 12hours +. I do remember it. I was there.

its the age old problem, there is no perfect time, except the time that is perfect for you! We all hate maintenance, esp 6hr sessions but it is one of those things and will always affect someone in this global and 24/7 culture.

Getting upset does nothing. Catch up on work, watch TV, go to the sales, have a nap, phone a friend, visit some family, play something else, read a book, surf the web, cook a meal, go for a walk, happy-slap some yoof-ful hoodies, wash the car or finally refresh the server status page every 15secs until the servers are up!

Watching it right now, kinda good, might stick arond til the end.

    On a more serious note...

You guys forget that it's bank holiday, almost everyone is home, and also, EU is not just CET, some of us will be hit in prime time by this, which is unacceptable, at least without compensation.

So just because it doesn't bother you, doesn't mean it's alright.

World doesn't revolve around you kiddos, learn it now, or suffer when reality hits you in the face. :P

a lot of ppl in the eu work 9-5 hours correct, but alot dont also plus there is the time difference

across the EU, but mostly the fact that for the next week or so its a bank holiday...

...so its peek time all day

Well he could if the servers weren't down image

But the bug patch is going on the public test server not the live servers. Yet.

heh then how the hell i read it if the servers  are  down ) it was at the start screen in the game launcher all the time lol

What big patch? Did you read the patch notes? They are adding baby names to credits (and some other 'bug fixes' too)

I too am very dissappointed to see again Players are being #(¤= on by a game company.

Some people do work nights ya so this is my major play time. Why not fix them in the middle of the night? When pops are at the lowest? why take them down during the day and well for me it will be 6pm before I can play.  NOT nice and not what they promised. OFF times does not mean all day 6 hours is way too much.

Look to RIFT they have down times 30mins-1 hour and add / change alot more than 20 bugs
