Anyway, during primetime, when my own server is listed as heavy, I still walk through towns and see nobody.. like literally nobody. I can run around in the capital city for 5 minutes and run into maybe 3 people. Feels instanced into oblivion.

Europe at random 4am hours probably?

    No, during the day, 1PM.

Granted, it's a workday, but compared to other games it's below expectation, occupation wise. I wouldn't mind a server merge with higher server caps.

It was 9 (or 10) AM in Germany/France and 8 (9) AM in England. Currently it's 11 AM in Germany.

Who gives a crap if you like it or not? Really? Why not just let those who enjoy playing it enjoy playing it, and those who dont, go and play something you do enjoy. Its not rocket science. What on earth is the point of trolling forums posting screenshots of servers, as though that somehow justifies your own dislike of one product in a sea of products.

Do you go to your local shops and stand there with a chart of sales figures for the day, shouting about how Pepsi is selling less than Coke this morning, and how everyone should stop drinking Pepsi *RIGHT NOW* and all drink Coke instead?

Do you live such an unexciting life, such an empty unfullfilled existance, such a lonely friend free time that you need to trawl internet forums looking to stir up some emotion from passing strangers who are simply enjoying a computer game?

If there is a game you like, go and play it! If there are no games - go and design one and try and get funding. If your too lazy to do either, go out for a nice walk and try and meet people. Although I suspect this will end badly once they realise how small minded and petty you are.

I would hardly call it pointless. It's the largest mmo launch in history. That's not pointless. They made a boatload of their money back on day one, if not all of it.

It may not be the most important thing when considering the future health of the game, but it is a long way from pointless.

We'll see if a few months. Also, just so you know, BW didn't even make half there money back in the "largest mmo launch in hostory" cause they spent too much money on a mediocre title.

Proof? That's a pretty bold claim.

I'll hold my breath, I'm sure you'll get back to me with proof real quick.

Or you could learn to use math for yourself but I guess that's too much for you.

I seriously hope your not basing this off of EALouse's garbage considering that 300 mil figure was debunked a long time ago.

Aside from that from box sales and digital sales they should be at a cool 140mil. Considering most rationale people figure the development cost to be between 100-150mil considering it cost more than WAR to develop but is vastly less that EALouses bull figures.

So I'd say anyone good at math that isn't trying to continue to spread misinformation and troll would say they've likely made they're money back already or come extremely close to it.

Meaning you don't know of any but you hope they exist. If you have some links to share that prove you right then by all means do share, I mean that is something that someone that knows they are right would do.

In other words i have no idea what i am talking about. it is so easy to make up claims and never back them up.

Or the fact that if I did throw my proof on here, you will nitpick it like fanboys do to twist it and say how it's not true. So doing so would be a waste of time but whatever.

What proof? 'do your own math'? sorry you got nothing

    *chuckles*

What math? How much did the game cost? You said they didn't make half their money back. To know that you would need to know how much money the game cost. I don't know how much it cost, so I'm asking you (who appears to know the answer).

Well, here's the math I can do.

If SWTOR sold 1 million copies (obviously a low guess) and we just count the standard edition price, they brought in 40 - 60 million dollars in revenue.

No they didn't. I read in a gaming magazine about 2/3 of the sale price from a game goes to the retailer.

Plus Lucasarts takes a share as well.

It's more like $10-$15 per copy, perhaps even less.

Who said this game is doing badly?

Even us who are heavily criticizing the game for not being innovative and more CORPG (co-op RPG) than MMORPG were saying this game would sell very well.

What is interesting to see is where these servers will be at 1-2 months from now...

There were far more Very Heavy servers in the US than in the EU, but a large amount of Heavy and Standard on both continents as well.

Ok, first of all, LucasArts is not taking their cut until EA recoups it's costs. That's just the way these things work.

Second, if you look at my numbers, even just the ones you quoted,  you will see that I put a range there. 40-60 million dollars.  If they got an average of 60 dollars for every box sale, a million sales would be 60 million dollars.  I realize that they don't, which is why I put 40 - 60 million.

The only reason I included the 60 million, is because of CE and DDE sales. You have to remember, they've already sold timecards as well. This is garunteed subscription revenue.

So going with the lowball number that i posted (you say 2/3 for retail box copies) lets do some very basic math.

40 million dollars, divided by 60 million is 2/3. This is exactly the number that you just posted.

Digital sales on origin are much higher revenue (probably close to 100%) than box sales. This would increase the average revenue to over $40 dollars per copy.

Collectors editions cost $150 dollars and digital deluxe edition costs $80 dollars. These both bring the average revenue they have made so far up.

There is no telling what number of timecards have been sold, but this adds to revenue.

Basically what happened here is this, I gave you very lowball numbers. My lowest number is EXACTLY 2/3 of retail price for EVERY copy of the game sold, retail or digital.  This is obviously too low when you consider the other factors I just listed.

Like I said, Lucas will get his cut out of the profits, either that or they're getting a flat fee. I can pretty much garuntee that Lucas isn't taking a flat liscensing fee on this one. They went for the profit.

Basic math. I can do it.

No they didn't. I read in a gaming magazine about 2/3 of the sale price from a game goes to the retailer.

Plus Lucasarts takes a share as well.

It's more like $10-$15 per copy, perhaps even less.

The actual breakdown is usually like this.........

    Developer - $15

    Publisher - $20

    Licensing - $10

    Retailer - $12

    Manufacturing and Distribution - $3

    Income (1.500.000 x 60$)     90.000.000$

    Cost                                        120.000.000$

    Profit/Loss                              -30.000.000$

Are you sector13? don't think so. The problem is trying to pass your assumptions and estimates as facts. That is your calculation but it is not a fact like the other guy likes to keep repeating.

    So what are the facts?

You haven't posted any. You're not even posting estimates. You just have random nonsense.

No one other than EA/BW knows the exact number, it is not about exact numbers it is just to show with very generous figures (with a bit of common sense you know the production cost of the game are well beyond 120M$ and that they don't get 60$ per sold copy) that based on BWs statement it is impossible for them to have made a profit from launch.

I won't say they wont make a profit in the long run, no doubt there will be an exodus after the 'free' month but there is a large enough fanbase (including me as I am only level23 and won't get to finish the story before my free month is up) that will subscribe to make it a healthy game and in the end a profit for BW.

Ps. You quoted the wrong guy ;)

Technically, alls it proves is that I am wasting my time on a gaming forum cause I got nothing better to do at 5:44 in the morning but ok.

Continued posting on a game forum would say that sure, but focusing all your time on the single task of trying to convienve people on the internet that you know what your talking about is another matter all together.

But sure since I'm losing interest I'll concede the point.

For a game doing so "badly", I sure am not seeing it on the servers. All European servers are "normal" or higher at primetime.

Who said this game is doing badly?

Even us who are heavily criticizing the game for not being innovative and more CORPG (co-op RPG) than MMORPG were saying this game would sell very well.

What is interesting to see is where these servers will be at 1-2 months from now...

I would suggest you read the threads, rather than trying to stir more shit.

On the front page there is a thread about paying 15 bucks a month for game, and Amazon dropping the price....although they didnt drop the price. I dont know if you have said it, but how many times have we heard "everyone is quitting after the first month"?

BTW all NA servers tonight were at least at "normal" level as of 10:30 PM EST.

Asking Devs to make AAA sandbox titles is like trying to get fine dining on a McDonalds dollar menu budget.
