Seems like swtor is on free fall....from around 75.000 to almost 25.000, thats a huge loss. Lets see how it looks like in some weeks, this is only the reaction of the graph after the free month ends.

[Points to the multitude of posts that prove that X-fire is in an invalid source of statistics when trying to apply X-fire statistics outside of the X-fire userbase]
This week end will be a good indicator of how many xFire SWTOR players left the game(*); yesterday was a maintenance day. Alhtough the drop is big even compared to otther maintenance days.
* I said "xFire SWTOR players" not "SWTOR players".

Those posts didn't prove anything btw, they just claimed.

Stats 110 stuff. See the class at your local junior college. Or you could, I dunno, read one of the links.
Self-pity imprisons us in the walls of our own self-absorption. The whole world shrinks down to the size of our problem, and the more we dwell on it, the smaller we are and the larger the problem seems to grow.

Exactly.
It's always a "claim" when someone doesn't understand, isn't it.
We really need separate forums for every newly launched game. There can be the anti-<MMO> one and there can be the 'what general discussion should be' one. All the lamenting can happen together where each can find solace in like minded can't-move-on-ers leaving the rest of us to actually move forward and discuss meaningful and relevant topics.

Sorry, but it's not my problem that some people are completely uneducated on the science of statistical analysis. I'm just pointing out the facts that they are incorrectly using statistics.
If someone is going to talk about something, then they better know about that something before they even speak up. Unless they wish to show everyone the amount of their lack of knowledge of that something.
Everytime people say that Xfire proves nothing.... and so far everytime they have been proven wrong.
The world is full of Homer Simpsons.
I'd like to see that proof. Keep in mind coincidence doesn't constitute proof. You have to proove a direct corellation and causation.
I know a strong trend down on xfire for AoC was because the playerbase was falling. I have been following the game relatively closely, and if you adjust the trends on xfire for xfire campaigns it's a very good _indicator_. I think it's too early to conclude anything for swtor, especially with downtime on both the 18th and 19th.

I think I mentioned about 50 pages back that you can't combat Faith with Math. Really, you can't win.

Looks like xfire is doing a good job approximating trends.
"Looks like" is exactly what statisticians seek to avoid.

The latest dip is do brutal, it has to have something to do with those downtimes.
There were downtimes before too. Lowest was 51.000, they are now at 34.000 and 38.000. But the real deal is this week end.

Here, I can play with Xfire numbers too:
ToR currently has 9,453 users per day on Xfire.
WoW has 19,138 players.
This means that the ToR population is about 49% of WoW's population. So that meanst ToR has 5 million players.
See how silly that sounds?
Shadow's Hand Guild
Open recruitment for
The Secret World - Dragons
Planetside 2 - Terran Republic
Tera - Dragonfall Server

You are pretty good at sounding silly, I'll give you that
When I want a single-player story, I'll play a single-player game. When I play an MMO, I want a massively multiplayer world.

No you wouldn't like to see that proof, so don't lie.
Nor do i have to prove anything to people incapable of accepting what is and what isn't.
You are free to continue believing that Xfire proves nothing if that is what feeds your need to reassure yourself that SWTOR is doing well.

Hmm, yes. just under 40k. Still, in TOR's defence not everyone uses XFire. But the dark side of the force is getting stronger.
