Originally posted by Effect Personally Horizons always reminded me of Anarchy Online in how both started and had seriously problems and then tried to fix itself. Very true. But also add that AO was the first, and for a long time the only Sci-Fi MMOG available. Horizons is just another High Fantasy iteration, and that contributes a great deal to player tolerance.
Personally, I would like to see Egomancer or some other rep from the game come in here and make an attempt at an explanation. They used to be famous for it, so why stop now?

Coz they are sitting on the beach at some cheapass black sea resort enjoying the 3 weeks holiday they got from the money they ripped off... Then its back to waiting on tables at the local Vonchicken Treat.

Should say in the last pages of this thread. (If I remmember correctly it went back to "closed testing" & all players got a refund. Site & forums closed without notice, (paying) players got a email stating they are getting a refund. Was some rumors about some african college buying the "mmorpg engine" from Mourning. All 20 or so players went on to other games).

Death implies that it was alive to start with...and whoever manage to bury air is a great artist, no doubt.

All MMOs run from servers in parent's basements should be kept free.
I remmeber visiting Mourning's website way back when. They promised sooooo much and delivered none. They should not have been taking chances on other peoples' money no matter how much faith they had on themselves.
So which game is next to crumble and die? The next close release would be Irth Online (http://www.irthonline.com). How about it? It bought a lot of art assets from the (now rotten) Wish and looks quite similar to it (I know, been the content manager for Wish Stratics *sigh*). Do you think it has a chance?
Also close to release (November) is Dark and Light (http://www.darkandlight.com), which I'm currently managing the Stratics site for. It looks like DnL will release with many promised features missing, so they'll probably have one of those infamous "money-making" releases with little content and some of the promised features making it into the game over the next year afterwards. Although I would really like to see the game succeed, I am slowly losing "faith" into the devs honesty (yeah right, as if MMOG devs ever were honest to begin with).
One can be a fan of a concept or game without being a fanboi. Most DnL addicts are fanbois by now, who take each and every word the DnL devs say as if it was pure gold. After the cancellation of Wish, I learned that being an unquestioning fanboi, results in disappointments. I don't want the same with DnL, so I am objective, rather than blindly optimistic, despite signs to the contrary.

I just now saw this post... but WOW, I never thought a company could be run like this. Makes me sick.
I remmeber visiting Mourning's website way back when. They promised sooooo much and delivered none. They should not have been taking chances on other peoples' money no matter how much faith they had on themselves.
MMO Fav List:
Lineage 2 | 5x Silver Ranger, 7x Shillien Elder <- Active
WoW | 6x Rogue, 1x Priest
Anarchy Online | 8x MetaPhysicist
Saga of Ryzom | Matis Light Armourer
Waiting for: Age of Conan, Lineage 3

Wow, Inferno... do you think you're jaded and cynical enough to work for a fan site?
