New gear...ooohhh, now you can ditch all that old gear you ground hard for and get this new stuff...till it gets replaced in a few months time. I'll fall in love with the first new game where constant releases of new gear tiers (with increasingly larger shoulderpads) isn't the carrot on the stick to keep you playing.

Actually, from the screenshots I saw, it looks like they're getting rid of shoulderpads on the chest slots (there is no shoulder slot).
They are making it sound like some sort of dynamic events in game instead of just holidays but they are really tight lipped about it. It's supposed to be "a surprise".

They have been really forthcoming with information so far. Very little question dodging and so far they have given out a ton of info about the patch and beyond.

Seems like a great update really. Glad they'll finally be tackling some things people have been balking about. I won't be resubbing but good to see those that are still around wil be getting a nice update when that is finally put into play.

You want them to test content patches, but complain when they delay the release because of testing ? They're also hiring local testers to come in and test operations in house with development staff.

I don't want to come off as a full blown hater for this game, but at the same time I have to maintain an objective eye on this game. The launch was successful in terms of getting the game up and having people on your servers playing. They sold boxes and digital downloads and all that good stuff. They've succeeded in that department no doubt.
They did some patches that were to say the least not recieved well. Whether this was do to the lack of testing by players or just overall bad design in up for some debate, but you'd be hard pressed not to mention both; its more about which one had the bigger impact. Design was horrid in my opinion and the lack of player testing on it just exasterbated the problem even more.
My gripe doesn't stim from what they are putting into their patch, cause really anything is a plus as long as it works and the players are feeling it. They however are not only taking the route of putting all these promises into one patch but then putting out video after video about it and saying its coming in March.
This March campaign of theirs has been going on since mid January till now, so when they sit there and talk about March release is just false if they had even the smallest feeling it would be delayed. Simply stop bullshitting with all the parlor tricks, Fix stuff of course, test the stuff your fixing ofc, but DON'T come out and give out some soft deadline to the consumers knowing damn well you're not going to meet it.
Even with the things that are in this patch and their are tons, they won't even give a slice of the smaller pieces of the patch so that people can at least get some real sense on how things are going. Cause right now all they have is speculation on both ends and that's no way to leave your players.
Just keep it honest (as if that exist in the business) and stop giving out somewhat fibbish information Bioware. Your patch is now set back to April, let me guess.. April 30th.. ffs..

What I wanted was open world PVP, instead they're just doing all they can to kill whatever this game had of it. I mean it's all small grouped PVP in warzones and stuff, like I can get that in a standard Multiplayer game so why would I pay a subscription for it?
1.2 Moved into April and out of March like they said it would be coming since the game released. I had a good feeling that the patch itself would be pushed back to try and intice players to stick around so they can check it out.
I don't get why Bioware constantly preached this patch coming out in March and then this, they still have plenty of time in the month to release, but this is more bait and switch tactics by them (IMO).
They figure they can push it back and no one will care as long as it comes out. That's true for the most part but the deception in trying to get people to hang around with the carrot-on-a-stick patch waving in front of their faces...

I'm enjoying the game as I level. I'm 31 now and do enjoy the storyline. What I see from this video the end game seems to focus on the same thing I did in Wow. (Raids,PVP, Dungeons) Does it not continue the story for your characters at end game in some way? or is it pretty much turn in to another raid / instanced PVP / dungeons / dailys game?
Yes, alas.
Since I hate dailies and I never get into raids, for me the game ends with ding 50. There just isn't anything meanigful and story to do that's up to par with the rest of the game. Just mindless and pointless grind.
And I am sorry but, a MMO in 2012 needs a LFG tool, and cross-server. I rather have a group with stupid people than standing around in the space station for hours and hours! THAT is SO NOT fun.
