my wife's a huge anime freak as well as an mmo gamer. i think a lot of politically correct screamers would be surprised to find that not all girls like ankle-length robed characters with static boobs.

edit: any more than i do ;)

MMORPG players interfacing with real life friends, c'mon, more believable that its raining cats and dogs outside right now.

It really depends what type of friends you have...I started showing my friends TERA and I have 4 who have pre-ordered and 2 who are planning to play on release but they think BETAs are a waste of time and dont care to get into them.

To be fair though, ive never had this many friends wanting to play an MMO, even with WoW it was only 3 of us and Rift was only two. Very happy having all these people I know to play with this time.

20 buddies is easy, I have plenty of friends and many of them are interested in MMOs or P&P RPGs.

But yeah, I can still only name 3 female MMO gamers that I can honestly call IRL friends. There are plenty of more I would nod at if I meet them but I can´t really call them friends just for that. Like my buddies ex GF that he dumped because she spent all moments awake playing Wow.

I actually enjoying drinking beer at the pub even more than MMOs so I get some IRL interactions myself. :)

oh there seems to be alot of variety among us class wise.   as far as  race goes,  it seems Elins is the most popular race.    there are also humans, and quite a few high elves.

we considered making a girl's only guild at one point.   since we are all from the same college would be alot of fun.

    Very sad attempt.

I'm not sure if it appeals to most female players, but what I am sure of is that you will see more female toons than any other mmo ever. If beta gives us any idea, and i think it does, there is about 75% female toons running around. Now these 75%, are from my experience, are almost all male. I've done many groups with my amun (male) where I was the only male toon only to find out and to be "surprised" when I started talking that the other people in my group were all guys also. It makes you really practice that old mmo saying "always assume guy".

Its weird, I spent more time with guy characters, maybe it depends on the server, I was on Jagged Coast, no doubt more female characters but not to the extent you described.

TFT and No fun allowed aquate for 600 people on the other server and TFT is only female(99% elin) and NFA is probably 80% female. They were on Valley of the Titans.

If you want to know...these would be the guilds coming straight from 4chan itself, so if youre on that server.

I personally know four woman who will be playing, they all play(ed) Aion as well. My personal belief if that it's about the art style. In both cases the outfits are a lot more risqu

Just not worth my time anymore.

The product TERA is the subject in a Lawsuit that claims the source code for TERA is stolen property.

No one should be promoting this MMO until the legal procedings are completely finished.

You are in the wrong topic and section.

Not weird at all, that's a basic coping mechanism. People think the developers put in those sexy models to attract male players, and they may also consider people that fall for such a trick to be shallow, superficial, or just sexist.

Since they don't see themselves or want to be categorized as such a person, they reject the (design of the) game.

Lol. I never understood why guys would play as a females, I for one like to mimic / portray myself into my character online. Then a thought occured to me... "Why would I want to stare at a male butt for HRS in my MMO!" Straight guys can relate.. Seeing a female from the back is soo much more appealing...

So now I can see, why SOME guys would play as female characters, though I only do when my GF is not around.  image

Here is interesting female game information about WoW

    http://blogs.parc.com/playon/2012/02/01/phase-ii-participant-overview/

the amount of female players has gone from 15% in 2005 to 39% in 2012

cross reference that with a 2010 survey that shows females collect vanity pets more than males

    http://blogs.parc.com/playon/2010/10/12/vanity-pets/

then point out that WoW recently released a female targeted commercial...

Females are the biggest growing demogrpahic in WoW, and they like to collect mini-pets..

The pokemon aspect of MoP isnt targeted towards kids...

Why do people still spew this nonsense? It was resolved a long time ago.

As far as I know it is NOT finished. Thanks for the tip, I will research some more today.

Its pretty much a dead end law suit, the suit is there to scare people like you in to not buying the game. The lawsuit is a dead end in korea, they sued got all their hardware/soft ware back. The case was than appealed and its pretty much dead end now. NCSoft pretty much sued again because well we having launch so they just want to scare people. Same reason why they pushing GW2 to colloid with Tera.

Hey some one in the same field as me =D well your already in dental school and i'm only freshman in undergrade in pre-dental program but still hey =D How is the DAT o.-? And how is dental school compare under grad o.o?

Ontopic, i think its the art, i mean lot of female anime fans so this type of art just reall click with them. I mean i don't play WoW or Rift coz i hate the art, i avoid western rpgs coz i hate the art style, i hate cartoon or realist fantsy. Case and point i hate skyrim coz the art makes me want to take out my eye ball. Why does everyone look so ugly?

Also amazonly people don't know that girls (homosexual guys) like the skimpy cloth as much as stright guys do. I mean look at the fashion industry. .... there is a good video on this let me see if i can find it...

Edit: o ya funny story about WoW, one of my class mate back in highschool play WoW and got his girlfriend to play. Than later he got mad at her for ignoring his call coz she was playing too much WoW XD
