The product TERA is the subject in a Lawsuit that claims the source code for TERA is stolen property.
No one should be promoting this MMO until the legal procedings are completely finished.
Why do people still spew this nonsense? It was resolved a long time ago, En Masse even stated it would not affect the release of the game.
Do you have a link of the outcome please?
As far as I was aware it was not resolved though they have lost in Korea (and lost one appeal too) and one of the directors is actually in prison as a result. Is that incorrect?
They lost the case and won the appeal. Right now its like at Korea's highest court for a while, look pretty much like a dead end. As for one of the director in prison i don't think so since the case was appealed.
I read that they did not loose the appeal. The court found they had stolen the code but they mitigated what the potential damage to NCSoft was? In short they where found guiltyand the guy is in prison. The only think the appeal mitigated was damages.
What about in the US?
From what i heard is they lost the case software and hardware were given back and few people were going to prison and there were fines. However appeal went through and the fine was canceled as as far i know no one went to prison. EME already decleared that they did nothing wrong and game will launch. Now if you show me where it say BH lost appeal than i could be wrong. I'll look in to it tomorrow and see. But as far as most people who follow Tera thats how it went.

Well release date is announced both in the US & EU and its pretty imminent. En Masses lawyers must have been all over it presumably. I just wish it was someone other than Frogster running it in the EU. Sadly it seems that it is a game where an extra 40 or 50 ms ping is going to make a bit of a difference
Im a bit conflicted over it. Theft of intellectual property (assuming it took place) is pretty low. On the other hand from a gamers point of view I wouldn't like to see Tera impacted.
Edit: If assets that are NCsofts are used in Tera they should pay (heavy) royalties imho.
And this is relevant to female players liking Tera .... how?
Getting derailed during a discussion is one thing. Purposely derailing a thread is another. If you want to discuss Tera's legal matters please open a new thread or necro the plenty that are available already.

Sorry about that total derail the thread
Ontopic, i think we are just getting more female gamer in general and that the gamer population is getting more gamer. As as more female play game they start moving away from just consol to pc and discovering mmorpgs. Might not be any aspect of Tera per say that attract female player just the general female gamer population is growing as gameing itself become more acceptable in society norm.
Also female takes in game relationships lot more seriously than guys do (from my experience). I knew 2 people, that i talk on vent with that has taken their relationship in game over the top. I mean i literaly had a good 2-3hr chat with one of them getting her relation shop with her in game "hubby" sorted out for her. And other who lives in the game literaly beside when she sleeps, and gets irrated at things in game as if it was real life. that and my friend went through quiet a few crazy online "spouse" and my experence with the only 2 online "spouse" was werid to say the least, and the only reason i married their character was for the buff and teleportion skill yet they took it so seriously.
EX: last game i play i married a cleric and pretty much told her i marrying cleric for grinding and farming purpose and i was nice to her, help her out with stuff. And in return she periodly flips at me when i don't respond to her coz i was afking because i was at school or went out. At first 3 time i said i was sorry about 10 times before she finaly responded, but you know on the 4th time i pretty much just said screw it. Maybe i just have horrible luck but man do i meet some crazy female in game =
Man i don't even know how this got started o well, back to watching house.
I pretty much assume everyone is a guy unless proven other wise with vent or skpye or something. Picture doesn't count unless you ask them to speicficly hold a sign. Even than you never know if they ask some one to do it, so vent/skpe/video chat to prove it other wise i assume all guys. Just easier that way.
I just plain dont care. I dont play online games to pick women.

Quoted for Truth.
Yeah, most of my avatars are female. Most of my girlfriend's and her daughter's avatars are male. I got over that whole, MMO-sexuality thing back in EQ. Now I forget that it actually matters to some folks.
Probably because of all the cutesy stuff (Elin, Popoori and so on) and muscular, wide shouldered guys
The female dwarves in Lineage 2 were cute, the Elin with those rounded hips and tights and weird stance are overly sexualized and I (as a female player) would never roll one. The Popoori don't do anything for me. I find them more on the ridiculous side than on the cute one. Now the male characters are tempting, although I went for a female human when I was playing on K-Tera. The friend I was playing with went for a female Aman, but she's always been into badass looking races.
As far as armor goes - in general I don't mind skimpy armor. I even like some sets. However, animations/stances/physique of the characters can be a real turn off for me as is the case with the female Castanics, the Elin and to a certain degree the High Elves.

you still have to talk to people and some time it matters when its a male or female. Although that what irrates me is when i don't know if i should use he/she when refer to some one -.-

Why should it matter if someone is male or female in an online game? I can't think of one instance where it does matter unless you are trying to "meet people".
Like Skyrim? Need more content? Try my Skyrim mod "Godfred's Tomb."

maybe just me, but i like to get my pronouns right, irrates me when i use he/she and its wrong. I'm just werid like that.

I would say just use the avatar's sex and if the person who is using the avatar has a problem with it they can let you know. And it's only really an issue if you are talking about that person. if you are addressing them it's just "you".

Mostly refering to the person with some one else, meet a few people who are a bit too senstive when i just use their character gender so now it just bugs me XD
That´s funny, I thought the fact that it is impossible to find a female armor where you can´t see the panties under would turn off female gamers.
I guess that just shows that i don´t really know what female gamers want.
That or just call BS when you see it?
Most adult normal people dont have 20 friends in total, and i mean real friends not co-workers, army buddies, frat brothers not to mention face book "friends" etc`
Yet alone 20 female friends(doesnt matter if you male or female to begin with :P) who all play computer games, who all like MMO's and who all going to play Tera instead of other MMO's out there.
Statistically that is pretty much the biggest pile of BS i've heard off...
I consider my self to be quite a social creature, i know quite a few girls irl who play video games, some who even play MMO's i met my GF for 3 years now in one, but still i probably cant count 20 guys who i call friends who play MMO's on any decent level not to mention who care for Tera specifically.
BTW most "non-gamer' girls i know who play computer games except for the facebook/online or social party games from my exprience play old school strategy games(the ones they used to see their brothers play) which now on discount, the amount of games age of empires 2 and age of wonder 2 from those discount platinum collections i've seen at girls places who bearly can even operate a Skype properly is pretty insane. the other most common scenario is in which they usually pick up what their BF plays which in this day an age is usually the current sports/fps game for their PS3/Xbox...

lol, ok fair enough. I do know some women who don't like to share their gender to anyone right up front. As for me, if I'm playing a female character and someone refers to me as "she" I will either correct them or just leave it. Especially if I don't expect to have dealings with them.

Sorry cant argue with statistics
you can coz statistic most of the time is pile od BS as well. Unless you know exactly what question was asked and how you can't really trust any statistics, and this is what my AP stat teacher told me. Like they could post statistic to say that 80% of american don't like their pay, and the question that was ask could be something do you want more money, ofc most people would say yes so statistic say 80% of american don't like their pay. Statistic is good reference but by no mean is it unargueable speically when you don't know the question been asked and how.
Also if you noticed the OP did say college, now they might not be BFFs but knowing 20 people in college is pretty easy consider how big some classes are and possibly of been in fraternity and sorority. Chance of knowing over 20 people, ya pretty high. Have to be good friends? No but you know them.
rofl, I promised myself I would not read anything in here, even the OP, and just laugh at the threads name. Apparently I am making this active thread more active tho, maybe others will post junk too, wait, is everyone doing the same thing? I don't know, do we?
I am sure no one will ever know what female mmo gamers truely want - similar to outside games. My GF is playing dungeon defenders with me at the moment and plays her character not for the abilities they have to offer but because it has purple hair. She played a ranger in Aion because it looked cute and had the name Lazerchild *shrug*.. the reasons to her playing will always continue to baffle me in any game.
I am fairly sure that Female gamers know what female gamers want. The question is, do female game developers know what female gamers want any better than male game developers know what male gamers want? Cause I am certain male game developers are clueless.
I am utterly in love with this game and definitely happy on how it has changed my views in MMOs. Tab targetting is extremely BORINGplus, this game is very pretty! I love the blood shed and blood pumping action combat. Playing on the PVP server. ^^
