Considering GW1 income, is questionable how they actually survive with out NCSoft money. Dont worry, the next NCSoft conference call with clear GW2 performance also.

hm. I'm enough old, have played D&D with dices, pencil and paper.

But my Ultimate Question on Life, The Universe and Everything is:

this WOW lovers are getting payed to troll every given open beta MMO?

Or they just feel something like a mission to spread the Truth About MMO?

    Yes, just wondering.

GW2 is not an open beta.. indeed you are to old to figure out that.

What did you expect? Devs won't risk not following the wow formula anymore. Only Indie devs take a risk, oh and Sega with PSO2. I knew from watching gw2's combat it was just gonna be another lame wow clone, then I read how the quests work and its really nothing diffrent than wow, cept you go to the heart insted of the !, same shit diffrent wrapper. That and gw2 has some of the stupidest balance decisions I have ever seen in a mmo, melee attacks with cast times that forces yoru char to stop moving? casters that can cast while moving? "WTF is this shit?" is all I can say.

Being a pessimist is a win-win pattern of thinking. If you're a pessimist (I'll admit that I am!) you're either:

    A. Proven right (if something bad happens)

    or

    B. Pleasantly surprised (if something good happens)

Either way, you can't lose! Try it out sometime!

Again, GW2 is not open beta, if you pay you can play, which is not open at all.

It is, and it isn't. I agree it's closed int hat only certain people can get in..but I get the feeling teh "Beta Weekend Events" really are what GW2 is using in lieu of a real open beta. Just my opinion.

there appears to be inconsistency in your reasoning, is it a wow clone or is it different and stupid?  i'm afraid you can't claim both and appear reasonable!

It's open beta because people are allowed to talk about the game. Closed beta means that you are not allowed to talk about it. It doesn't matter who or how many get into the beta test.

Personally for me, after being burnt on so many 'substandard' MMO I am in no rush to get this game, especially with the 'Cash Shop' factored into it

And If ANYTHING, sylvari are an imitation of Games Workshops Wood elves (regardless of the fact that they 2 entire different types of games)

This is what happened when blizzard let everyone into the MMO scene.

When I said i had "time", i meant virtual time, i got no RL "time" for you.

    WoW PVE:

    - zillionds of quests with a nice story or cutscenes

    - loads of epic dungeons

    - loads of epic raids

    - scenarios (coming in MoP)

    PVP

    GW2 PVP:

    - WwWwW = lame zerg action worst that Warhammer

    - 5 man pvp instance

    WoW PVP:

    - battlegrounds with clear objectives

    - world pvp zones like WG or TB and who knows what comes in MoP with siege weapons

    - arenas

    - world pvp

    So more:

Sylvari = poor copy of WoW elfs, really lame made

Asura = poor try to make something fun like WoW gnomes or goblins.

All GW2 chars are generic and lifeless. All WoW chars are full of personality and damn nice made animations and everything.

So before GW2 try to challenge WoW, they should first challenge TERA, Rift, Lotro who are actually much much better that what GW2 offers. In all terms.

Oh, yeah, GW2 have no monthly fee. Imagine if would have a monthly fee, how many of you would play it??? Think about it... And because of that, Arenanet knows if you try the game you may not like it, thats the reason of prepurchasing, thats the reason why they did not offer free trial for GW1 (only after a few years) and probable they will not offer for GW2.

And for peoples who start with "I never played WoW" my advice is that you should because, I never realized how good is WoW until i played some other games. Not playing WoW do not make your opinion stronger, its actually a sign of no experience.

Another good example of a guy who have played WoW all his life. If gw2 is a copy or something thats pretty much warhammer online, and is a B2P MMO, it wont have the amount and quality of content and features that you can find in a p2p MMO, so you cant compare GW2 with a P2P game.

Its about time to close this thread, nothing usefull comming from it anyway.

Best MMO experiences : EQ(PvE), DAoC(PvP), WoW(total package) LOTRO (worldfeel) GW2 (Artstyle and animations and worlddesign) SWTOR (Story immersion) TSW (story) ESO (character advancement)

Even I laughed when I read the OP.

MMORPG genre is dead. Long live MMOCS (Massively Multiplayer Online Cash Shop).

im tired of defending MMO's I defended Aion and Guild Wars 1 to much  I think the best way for Developers to make a better game is to tell them what is all wrong with the game.
