Having said that, you can't raise your kids in a bubble, and they are gonna see shit no matter what kind of locks you put on the doors. Curiosity is natural. You just have to make sure you are open and talk about the things they are curious about. Keeping them ignorant of the world they live in is the path to raising a dumb kid that can't protect themselves.

They actually decided to back down on it to get a better PEGI rating. Otherwise, they could have left it in and gotten a more mature rating. So actually more than censorship it was a business move.

But we're not. And that's where it gets messy. I've seen kids go sex-crazy over less than this. Or more.....uhm... you know.
But I think we're missing an important aspect of censorship here: "The other guy". The guy you have no control over without censoring the source.
It's not selective, and the comparison between watching murder in games and the creation of child sexualization is not and never has been valid. It's always brought up in these topics, and it's very tiresome. The crime of murder is the real act, the crime of child porn is the creation of the imagery itself.
But this isn't even about legality, at least not yet. It's about what they think an american audience, and lobbyist groups, and politicians will stomach if they happent to see the Elin. The publishers don't want a crusade against their game.

Yep, this is the kind of argument that really sets a hard line between those without kids (single adults and teens) and actual parents (and for that matter, parents with daughters). I have a son, but before he was born and we didn't know the gender, I gave a lot of thought to what raising a girl would mean, and our society looks downright predatory toward women from that perspective.
Having to be responsible for someone, and realizing that something which might be okay for an adult to internalize is suddenly and readily accesible to a child, is a shocking slap in the face. When I became a parent I had to start thinking about this, about implementing parental controls, and about considering what entertainment would be "for mom and dad" vs. available to my child. Sexuality is inevitable in a child's life, but as I see it, let's try to stave off the introduction and immersion our society is so fond of pumping out in multimedia until the kid is actually ready....and even then, try to contextualize it so that we don't have a runaway society that is built on principles that allow old men to sexualize pre-teens.
