THIS GAME IS NOTHING LIKE WOW OR ITS CLONES! Embers of Caerus is a next-generation sandbox medieval fantasy MMORPG under development by Forsaken Studios. With a rich, player-controlled story, a massive, realistic game-world, and a host of innovative features, Embers of Caerus promises to be the game that sandbox fans have been waiting for!

"At Forsaken Studios, we’re gamers. We love this crazy hobby of ours and we want it to be the best that it can be. But the one thing we all agree on is that we still haven’t found that perfect sandbox game that matches all our expectations and fulfills all our wildest dreams. So we decided to make it ourselves."

You just spent more time trashing a game, rather than talking about your own.

Sub fee, this is probably not going to end well.

    Best of luck to it.

Sub fee with no cash shop = superior game

    I'd be a hypocrit if I didn't support this.

Yes for this game to be great, IMO it needs to be more like the existing Elder Scrolls game and less like WoW, and I really hope the devs understand this.

Why would it? Market has changed and more and more people are looking for sub-free mmos.

Wow, another money sucking dev team after Pathfinder Online...

I wish someone was paying for my bills too, any volunteers? :)

This terrifies me, all the console kiddies when Elder scrolls came out were jizzing their pants about it being the greatest game ever and SOOOOO HUGE, OMG ITS LIKE SOOO BIG THIS IS THE GREATEST GAME EVER.

When in reality, almost every MMO is way bigger than skyrims map and way more inspired, SKYRIM WAS A BOREFEST and everyone just was hyped and jumped on that stupid bandwagon and made that game out to be something good.

Look at all the songs and memes and retarded garbage that came from skyrim. Dovakkhinn, fus ro dah, arrow to the knee. FFS.

NOW IMAGINE THAT FANBASE COMING INTO AN MMO, GOD COULDNT HELP US NOW!

THIS WILL BE WORSE THAN TOR.

Cash shops are probably bad for you but cash shops make money therefore they are good for MMORPGs.

When there is no money, there is no MMORPG. Simple as that...

You do realize that in the rewards they mention free game time, in otherwords subscription game.

    2016 release date.

I'm not putting money into something I'll definitely forget about within the next 4 years.

GW2, ArcheAge and Pandaria will keep me entertained this year and next, and by the time they are boring there will be something new right around the corner, before 2016.

If by 2015 I'm not happy with an MMO I might donate.

  • chryseschryses Member UncommonPosts: 1,453

I commend them.  If there was one big successful sandbox game like this then I see all the big players driving the same direction.

Well, all the casual Cash Shop kids here at MMORPG.com aren't interested in supporting it, to be expected. I however am I 3D animator, I might try and get in as a volunteer. I'd love to see a game like this suceed, Darkfall was my favorite MMO but it had a ridiculous list of problems, I'd like to see a similar game suceed where Darkfall harshly failed. It's not because the game was bad, it's because the development team was bad.

Without projects like kickstarter a lot of indie games would probally never see the light of day, or they would have to try and get funding from a big publishers.. Big publishers like to make money and dont want to take a gamble on an MMORPG that might not work.. so what the big publishers do is invest money into wow clones... yay..

Using kickstarter proves to investors that people would actually want to play the game.. so guess what investors are then more willing to invest..

Because of things like Kickstarter the future is looknig awesome :)

Anyway if anyone is even a tiny bit interested in this i would say donate for sure... even if its only a little

While i support the idea I'm not investing in something i wont see until 2016...

By then we might have games like these all over the place.

  • xmentyxmenty Member UncommonPosts: 719

Unless they can be better than GW2, I will opt to pay their game with monthly subs.

If not then F2P and stop with the fps lock view.

Pardon my English as it is not my 1st language :)

So be it. If they cannot pay their bills, there should stay out of the business.

No reason to support projects without a survivability.

Also, you are mistaking donator for an investor. You do not invest into Embers of Caerus or any other Kickstarter project, you donate money - you give them money you will never see again nor you have any guarantees or control on what is happening with your money, they are gone.

You only pay for their bills so they can have fun. Would you pay for my bills too? I guess not...

    Seriously?

You know that Elder Scrolls has been a primarily PC title for over fifteen years, starting with ES:Arena, right? You also realize that there are many gamers with various forms of preferences towards the medium that enjoyed Skyrim, Oblivion, and Morrowind before it, numbering in the millions? You're capable of separating meme's from the playability and quality of games, or recognizing that SRPG's rarely boast map sizes or worlds as large as games that are literally meant for thousands of players? I suppose you find the most refined and mature of the MMO creme de la creme playing themepark, quest hubbing, gear treadmills?

So when you want an RPG you play World of Warcraft, because RPG's have never been First Person since the 90s right?

Pray do tell why it is fake? To me it just seems like you are attacking the game and kickstarter for no reason?

Did you check the kickstarter page? Seems legit to me.
