He has been hitting every GW2 forum trolling every user that doesn't praise GW2 a troll. I am going to follow his suggestion and block. Just getting to be too much.
Of course, evading the question, as usual.
I will repeat, but I don't expect any answer - if you give GW2 less than 5, what kind of note do you give to really bad MMORPGs - a negative one?
For instance, to use a recent game, I literally HATED the gameplay of Tera, the idea of playing that game again just makes me sick - the boring classes with one weapon, the crap quests which make one think WoW was written by Tolkien himself in comparison - all this just makes me dislike the game. But even then, I would never give it less than 5. The artistic and development work made on that game make it an above average game, without any doubt.
Same goes for TSW - the gameplay and combat got boring quickly since I was in the full access (24/24) beta of the game - yet I would never give that game less than 5, even though I dislike it and won't ever buy it.
It's all about being unbiased and not an extremist. The world isn't just black and white. Some people only know two scores - 0 or 10. Most people know there's a lot of other numbers inbetween the two.

1-2 = Downright unplayable. 3-4 = Sub par. 5 = Average 6-7 = Above average. 8-9 = Near perfect. 10 = Perfection personified.
I gave it a 7. Well above average. Not quite near perfect.

Personally the only modern MMORPG trend that annoys me is the idea that MMOs need to be designed in a way to attract people who don't actually like MMOs. Which to me makes about as much sense as someone trying to figure out a way to get vegetarians to eat at their steakhouse. - FARGIN_WAR
9 - still the best MMORPG release these last 7 years, in my opinion of course.
And people who gave it 1 - worst experience ever - can only be trolling. That's no lack of respect of other people's opinion, that's fact. Just for the work made on the game and the scale of the game, you can't give it less than 5 without trolling. Because if you give GW2 less than 5, what the hell do you give to real failures like Dark and Light or similar crap? -10?
Originally posted by nsignific I voted 7, because even though I dislike it personally and won't play it anymore, I acknowledge that it's a well made game and a valuable addition to the genre.
Very good example of an honest and fair vote. I wish everybody would have the maturity of nsignific.
Translation: Because someone does not share the same opinion as you, they must be a troll.
Korrigan, this vehement over-defense of GW2 is getting old.
I kind of agree with him. Unless the person voting 1 has only ever played 2 mmorpgs they can't honestly give it a 1. FFXIV would have to be the worst mmorpg I have ever played and I wouldn't even give that a 1.
Why not? What if he likes trinity MMORPGs a lot and decided to test a non-trinity games and happened to disliked it? That would make it possible for the person to play a lot of MMORPGs and still consider GW2 to be the worst experience of them all.
People who received horrible customer service can also consdier their experience with this game to be the worst of all their MMORPG experiences.
Keep in mind that, this poll is not rating the game in any objective way, it is rating the personal subjective experience.

if you want to make your own poll with your own criteria for different grades, you are free to do so, but the opening post specifically stated "1 being the worst expereince you have ever had" and "10 being outstanding and can't wait to play it some more".

Read the first post in this thread again. It specifically states "10 being outstanding and can't wait to play it some more" and "1 being the worst expereince you have ever had". If you can't follow the indicated scaling, I suggest to create your own poll with your own scaling.
Gave it a 9 because there's always room for improvement.
The MMO is a good fit for me:
Jump in and find action almost immediately, regardless of area
No fighting over resource nodes or xp on kills
Non-grindy crafting system
Not too complex, but not too simple character customization
Beautiful graphics
There's more, but those are the main points.
It doesn't matter if it has room for improvement. What matters in this particular thread for whether or not it should have a 10 is: " being outstanding and can't wait to play it some more"; if you feel that way, you ought to vote 10 regardless of whether or not the game can be improved.

Sorry I am not of your camp. What does 2-9 mean? Why not have a poll that is either 1 or 2, love it (1) or hate it (2).
Sorry I could not bolster your feeling about the game. As you see the poll, it is meaningless. I don't give out high numbers just to give out high numbers.

Point is, this is a poll for one's opinion. No matter what that person chooses for his/her score, it should not be dismissed as invalid just because some member can't fathom it.
Example:
Laurence Olivier is widely considered the greatest actor of the 20th century. However, there are people that consider his work utter crap. They genuinely feel that. It does not make those people trolls.

Because are there a wide range of possible subjective positions between " being the worst expereince you have ever had" and "being outstanding and can't wait to play it some more".
For instance, if you enjoyed your experience better than most games but you've grown a bit tired so that you no longer have the "can't wait to play it some more" feeling, then neither 10 or 1 is a fitting score, but it would go more towards the higher end of the scale.
I gave the game a disappointing 6. Was anticipating a much more unique and "game-changing" experience that unfortunately has simply failed to deliver. Specifically -
Combat is boring
WvW has been a major letdown
Activities at max level, aka "endgame", are not appealing and consist of too much grinding
(These assessment apply only to me, of course. I'm not suggesting they're objective truths.)
I don't regret my purchase because I have garnered some entertainment value from GW2, but it it had a monthly fee, I would have not subscribed beyond the first month.

No MMO has held my attention this much since 04-05. WAR came sort of close in that I lasted a month. I expect to play GW2 for at least a few.
Necro=5
They totally threw the Necro under the bus before release with glaring bugs that could be fixed in a day, yet still persist. Some aren't so simple, but the fixes are obvious. The problem with playing other classes is they all seem so simplistic, so the game just isn't as fun trying alts. What, I can press 1 or 2 buttons and kill a mob without even looking? I can PvP effectively with just a few skills instead of both weapon sets and all my utility slots? Wait a second=)
They'd probably put muc more efort into the "endgame", having less effort into levelling.
Also, they'd probably have a treadmill, since that's the easiet way to keep people grinding content while thinking they're doing it for a reason.
I don't think so. It's in Arena Net's interest to keep players occupied and interested at "endgame" regardless of a subscription. A MMO's health depends on an active and consistent player community. That community generates buzz about the game, gets others to play, and so drives game sales, which Arena Net is heavily dependent on as a revenue model.
It is a well made game but it's just more of the same really, just because you create hearts and make them 'events' and calling it different doesn't mean it isn't the same as the generic quest games, because it is.
I voted 7...Good game for the 2 weeks I played but Im moving on to other games. IF nothing else though it will stay on the desktop and I can play it anytime I want to dip into a quick fantasy MMO

Well if you were fallowing it you would know that sPVP was alway's going to be bare bones at lounch ((just like gw1)) and than added to over time ((just like gw1)) thay already said there working on more for Esports, that has alot to do with why there not pushing out the Esport stuff for it yet.

its a solid game and the most fun i have had with an MMO in a long time. its has a solid base or foundation but it needs to be built on alot of the idea's are so new ((or reimagined)) it herts. the game has plenty of short term go's and plenty of long term gols but nothing in between.

Glad to see the balance is going between 8-9
A very good score given by players!!
Kudos to ArenaNet for it & to the Poll poster!
Care to elaborate on what that "whole new way" might be? I'm not being snarky; just genuinely interested.

Not sure if stupid or just trolling.
If it's not broken, you are not innovating.

Would be a 10 but it's anti social. You don't need anyone for anything.
1 Dungeons, again no one really talks
2 WvW, just run with the larger groups no one really talks
3 Open world, start doing an event. a stranger will come by shortly and help you then gone.
7 because the game is nice, well thought out. But like all others it's easy mode.
