You, sir, are the greatest mourning fanboy to ever live. Even after being raped by some devs that ask an monthly fee for testing their software, Mourning: Land of Bugs and Retardness(A neat Alpha)- YOU STILL BELIEVE!

How tasteless of you to post. I think im going to throw up
Remember when this game was actually going to be good?
Oh nevermind, I remember seeing a screenshot on a website it had worse graphics than Counter Strike 1.6 but it was coming out in a few years. I was like, WTF counter strike is 7 years old and this game isnt even out yet and the graphics are still on par!
LOL
i play on australian servers because racism is acceptable there
Is that you people are surprised by what happened with mourning.
Guess what folks: YOU enabled this. By constantly buying games that were released before they were ready - You convinced game companies that it was OK to release unfinished games.
By constantly making excuses for unfinished games - You convinced the game companies that they could release less and less finished products.
By PAYING for products BEFORE they were released - You convinced the game companies that "HEy!!! We can charge people to play in the beta!"
And.... yet....
You are surprised? You are shocked? You are angry?
When... in reality:
YOU SHOULD BE ASHAMED Ashamed of buying games that you KNEW weren't ready, especially people who were in the betas. Ashamed of encouraging the market to think that this was OK
I actually APPLAUD Mourning: It's finally started to make players WAKE UP and realise that the more they continue re-inforcing this type of behaviour from game companies the more they will do it.
STOP PAYING FOR GAMES THAT ARE NOT READY!
Period.
Currently Playing: Dungeons and Dragons Online. Sig image Pending Still in: A couple Betas
Few people here bought the game, and, as you stated, encouraged game companies to release this crap. In fact, if you go to the first page, I talk about how much this encourages other companies to pull the same crap. I think only that zaxtor, Sporn, and Tarl played.
This thread was not to complain of a unfinished game(aka SWG or Asheron's call 2), but the nasty practices of a corrupt company. Most of us were just watching mourning until it turned into a total free for all. Me(along with Razor, harelin, bitey, inferno, alot of others) perdicted this kinda of crap would happen with mourning. Sadly, some people ignored the outcries of logic. But I do agree, people buying unready games just encourages game makers to do take advandge of the situtation.
By the way, this is another thread about Mourning from our friends at Pker.org-

lol wow. 104 pages of bashing. I've never even heard of this game. With some of the crap that has been released lately i almost want to play this just to see how bad it really is. It's depressing how watered down the mmorpg market is getting these days
Pathetic excuses for games and publshing companies like these and other recent MMOs are what make me glad I got in on the ground floor of MMOS with UO and Asheron's Call, two games that are in an entirely different universe as far as professionalism and quality are concerned when compared to Mourning.
Watered down doesn't even begin to describe the current state of affairs with the MMO market, too many garbage games with too many horrible implementations.
Most importantly, I'd say the general level of quality and creativity in games now is plummeting at an alarming rate. A recent example would be Irth Online (which currently has a banner right above me as I post this), which I think is well on it's way to becoming the next Mourning. Advertising things that aren't even in the game, one of the worst 3D engines i've ever seen. The bugs in this game are comparable to betas, clipping issues, disspearing landblocks, spawning in areas that have texture bugs (i've spawned in a spot that looked like the sun melted into the earth which caused my computer to lag like crazy and then have a seizure of colors). There are numerous issues at hand, and although the devs in Irth are for the most part good people and honest the game itself should NOT be released, it's nowhere NEAR release worthy and yet its out there.
Just as was said numerous times in this thread, the problem is people keep eating up these games that are released from beta way too early. Devs know their games aren't ready but they're so hungry for all that easy $$$ that they release it anyways and the hordes of ignorant, slack-jawed consumers are buying into it and telling "it's ok, we don't need an end product, just give us anything thats past half-done and we'll give you money!". It's like people don't even need to finish games anymore, they just need to finish it enough to take a few pretty screenshots and make a playable area where people can grind away, release a beta and then profit. It's unethical, shady and at the basest form... downright pathetic.
To say the least I'm going to have to do my duty here and warn anybody looking to get into Irth to heed this thread as a warning, not everything you find on MMORPG.com deserves to be here.
Zen, while I agree that Irth doesn't look like a good game, you said that the devs were good people and honest. There's the difference. A lot of people believe that some of the people involved with Mourning were scamming. There's no law against releasing a bad game, or even a game full of bugs... caviat emptor would apply, in my opinion. It's not a bad thing to warn people about a lousy game... it's your opinion and if you back it up with examples to explain, I'm sure a lot of people will agree with you and give the game a wide berth.
However, the quality of a game and how much fun it is, is a subjective opinion and varies from person to person. Some people are obviously willing to put up with what you and I might consider an unfinished and buggy game... and, strangely, their even willing to pay for the dubious pleasure. Who knows why? Maybe our level of frustration is just set lower or something. I mean there ARE people playing Irth and professing to enjoy it, no? I should think their opinion is different than yours. Who gets to decide if a game is crappy? Or how many buggy bits it can have and still be released? The money they get from the initial launch won't last forever. They'll need subscribers to support them and see them through future development. If they stop developing because of the lack of funding, people will eventually wander off from boredom and the game will dry up and disappear, anyway.
Dark and Light, in terms of lack of info & dev support pretty similar to Mounring in its more lively days, now has a pre-order option -- US$ 59.99!
That's twice as smart as Mourning, where they only charged you for 30 bucks
Funny enough, the fanbois at the Dark and Light forums put the same trust into the "good will" of the devs, as it happened previously with the now vaporized Mourning project.

10 dollars that this is either, a mourning fanboy looking for a reason to blame the sane people in the world for the scam that is mourning OR someone that is unable to read(hint: page 1).
Is the "race card" really the last card you have to play, fanboy? You have already tried the "It's ok to steal from the customer if a game company is in trouble" card. This could be the most illogical of the agruments made for mourning yet!
Mourning Fanboy? Me? I just heard about tht game yesterday lol, I was just asking a question, and I readed the first page and so? It's not reason enough to flame everything. Anyway was Mourning released yet?
There are 105 pages to this thread, Inferum. If you are really interested in why people say what they do about Mourning, why don't you read some of it? I'm sure everything will become quite clear to you in a relatively short period of time. It doesn't look like anyone can be arsed to give you the whole story when you have it at your fingertips.
How do you know, Kishe? The Mourning website is still just a page of nothing and if you look up "Dasha Productions" they have no company website... it just points to the same, old, tired empty Mourning website. They're probably just getting ready to try and scam in Germany now... maybe they didn't fool enough Germans into buying their useless CD and have decided to have another go at them.
