But I guess I can understand why it was beaten out by some of these . . . I guess
(jk lol, but only half. I'm interested to see what's going on with WildStar and HEX. I am interested to learn more about ArcheAge, ESO and Destiny, though I don't particularly care for any of them)
Originally posted by erikkennedy teso needs locked factions. when you have an emphasis on large scale pvp, you need to prevent trolls from giving information away by logging into alt faction toons. period. only serious pvpers get this. this game is centered around 3 faction pvp.
And serious PVPers would create a secondary account to go into the other faction. The whole point is moot.
I'm excited to see more of HEX. Wildstar has lost its lackluster and frankly I don't see ArcheAge hitting off in the states. As others have stated EQN will be at SOE otherwise that would be my choice.
#4 Hex -> While it has an awesome kickstart..... A TCG MMO? I play magic casually with friends. If you wanna play cards that the best way to go. Social is a key part of cards. Not really interested, but I guess I could see how some would gasp at the massive kickstart...although kids seem to throw their money at horrific mobile games. Kinda hard to bluff while looking at a monitor.
First Time I've heard of Hex honestly, should be interesting.
Many people who play TCGs don't have the time to play the physical version and can't get to the out of town tournaments. You can play against other people in the comfort of your own home anytime you want without having to subject yourself to the fat sweaty neck beards that are all too common in local shops. Tournaments will have prizes and theres different types like draft tournaments. Most of the people I know who bought into the Kickstarter aren't kids, either. They're adults who have been playing games like Magic for 10-20 years. I think the grand plan includes making Hex into an e-sport. If they can make it work, I think it could become a pretty big deal in the future. It also has a pve side, which is completely f2p and is something new for TCGs. Dungeons, raids, loot, crafting, hero leveling etc. provide a sort of rpg element to the game while being able to, in theory, trade pve only cards for pvp cards in the AH. Theres nothing stopping you from playing with friends since it is f2p and guilds will be fully supported (guild banks etc).
Honestly, Hex really is Magic online, only significantly better in every way since WotC don't seem to give a damn about their online versions.
Is a man not entitled to the herp of his derp?
Remember, I live in a world where juggalos and yugioh players are real things.
If it's not on a PC, then it's not going to be an MMO. Period. End of discussion. Defiance failed. The public was lied to about it being an MMO when it's clearly not.
Destiny has officially failed (like every other console game) 3 months after release it's old news. Pfft who gives a shit anymore.
Ummmm Mr author are you serious? where is EQN? Let's discuss games the community believe to be top 5 rather than your own top 5. Your article is way off the mark.

Lets discuss you not paying attention to where the OP says EQN isn't going to be at E3, only at soe Live. This is an E3 2013 list.

SOE will not be at the show, they havent been for a long time...
Best MMO experiences : EQ(PvE), DAoC(PvP), WoW(total package) LOTRO (worldfeel) GW2 (Artstyle and animations and worlddesign) SWTOR (Story immersion) TSW (story) ESO (character advancement)
FF14 ARR is the only thing of true interest, but not by much.
TBH, I'm more interested in the Microsoft and Sony conferences, but it's more of a curiousity by this point. I hope some of the recent trailers for Xbox exclusives aren't a part of their promises, because they simply did not look impressive for a next gen unveiling (LocoCycle, Fantasia, Spartan Assault).
But again, that's more of a curiousity. It's sad to me that E3 hasn't really excited me in years...
1. A recognition that the games shown at last years E3 should have a shelf life of longer than one year.
2. The realisation that unless you can see how much you need to spend in the cash shop you are not going to be able to determine how P2W it is.
3. The understanding that just sticking the label "sandbox" on a MMO does not make it any better than what we have seen in the last few years.
4. An acceptance of the fact that the current MMO model is failing, that pandering to solo gamers, dumbing down for console gamers and trying to be an everyman MMO was got the industry into the state it is today.
5. The knowledge that the only reason anyone with their head screwed on takes nay notice of the E3 hype-fest is the gaming babes. It is that alone which makes it worthwhile.
Originally posted by erictlewis Wow somebody left of EQNext. I never head of destiny or hex. So I have no clue how they rank so high.
EQnext won't be there. SOE has already said they'll release details at SOE live in August
I'm still really disappointed that Destiny will be console exclusive. Seems like a terrible business decision considering how much of the MMO market they are leaving out by avoiding PC.

hex? ._.
intresting to see how other fellas on the list will perform.
I guess I need to read up on Destiny. I know nothing about it. My list is
1) Elder scrolls online
2) Everquest next
3) Final Fantasy
4) ????? Destiny once I read about it
5) don't have one. When my teen nieces visit maybe then Wildstar will be appropriate.
There Is Always Hope!

I'm also going to jump on the bandwagon that says, no PC version then I am not interested.

Off topic: Nice avatar Nonderyon. Great taste!
Top 5 Wants from E3:

who comes up with these lists? never heard of 2 of the 5 up there, yet top 5 wants? by who? Well congrats to the top 5. I guess
EQN
Wildstar
ESO
AA
The Repopulation
Destiny, Hex...no business on this list at all - IMHO.
Yeah, by todays standards if more than one person can play it, they call it an MMO.
I'm still really disappointed that Destiny will be console exclusive. Seems like a terrible business decision considering how much of the MMO market they are leaving out by avoiding PC.
Drekor Silverfang
The Shipwrecked Pirates
No it will be not, they said now it will come to pc
