Honestly I don't understand why anyone is ANYTHING other than outraged about the pre-order exclusives. They spent the time to make it a faction based game, and then at the last minute basically decided to say screw the factions, spend your money upfront now and you can be whoever you want to be.
Ohh so much this. If it wasn't for the TES swag coming with the physical CE I wouldn't bother.
Same - hate their Imperial race paywall gimmick but I want the lore book.
Not me, I labeled the game as shit before I go into beta, and once I did get in, it defently deserved the shit label I gave it. So no, I personally won't touch the game when it comes out, skyrim was already pretty bad for a TES game, and this gme is worse. The main reason its worse is most test games by themseves are trash, to really make the game worth playing it needs mods, lots of mods, skyrim was a prime example of it, I thought the game completly sucked till I got t3nd0s skyrim redone overhaul mod, which actually made it into a really enjoyable game. Mind you skyrims plot is still one of the dumbest things I have seen come out of bethesda. Anyway, other than the game being pretty lackluster, the lack of being able to mod it to make it better reinforces the shit/garbage label I gave it even more.
The game is honestly another SWTOR, fanboys will buy the game in droves so it will have high box sales, but the game will be a ghost town by its 2nd or 3rd month after release, I mean the game is bascally a themepark that just uses 1st person view insted of the normal view mmo's use. We've seen this pattern with SWTOR and a few other mmo's based on big name IP's and they all follow the same pattern: High box sales, but next to no retention after the first 2 -3 months of release. Reviews of the game have also not been very positive either so far.
I just hope when it goes f2p which will prob happen in the first 6 months, it won't be as restricted as swtor is, where you bascally can't do anything without subbing.
Anyway not trying to be a troll here just stating my opinion. If people wanna buy this garbage let them, its their money right? If you play at least 30 hours i'd think you got your 60 bucks worth, least imo.
Being a pessimist is a win-win pattern of thinking. If you're a pessimist (I'll admit that I am!) you're either:
A. Proven right (if something bad happens)
or
B. Pleasantly surprised (if something good happens)
Originally posted by Rikus25 I played beta and liked some of it. I wouldn't say I hated it or its a bad game, just not for me is all. I wont be buying it but I will keep on eye on it as time goes on. Never know what dev's will do. :)
You summed up my thoughts on this as well. Not the worst I've ever played just not for me. FAR too "consoley" for me, I despise consoles. I hate the consoley interface. I found the skills to restrictive, maybe after launch there will be many more, interesting ones discovered/revealed, I wasn't impressed with what was on offer. Nice graphics, but I was surprised they weren't better, I see better coming out of the asian-market in their AAA titles. I too will keep a eye on it, maybe in time it'll develop into something...
The weekend test took me from meh to yeah. Cyrodil clinched it but I was leaning toward purchasing just from the early questing. Never being asked to kill 10 of anything or go out and collect a bunch of stuff and rush right back was a god-damned delight.

I "might have" played the game for my first time over a year ago, and I bought the Imperial Edition the day it was announced. Cyrodiil is enough to keep me, a hardcore pvper, happy for months post launch. Everything else is a bonus that might keep me longer.

A great deal of the hate is coming from people who don't like the sub-Model and take any opportunity to voice any opinion that harms said sub-Modeled games.
Then there is the group of people who play a short time in the Beta and judge the game off of the first ~10 levels and a relatively low amount of playtime and decide it's bad. I pity these types.
There are also those who just don't think Skyrim should have been made into an MMO, nothin wrong with that.
Then we are left with the pessimists who are pessimistic about any new game - and I can't blame them. A lot of the games released with high expectations can't seem to pull it off in the end. Whether this is due to the massive hyping that the publisher pushes or that the game is just garbage is of course anyone's opinion.
Originally posted by Palladin After this broken Beta Event I am sitting on the fence. There are aspects of the game I like but this beta event has been really bad. I've not been in it more than 20 min total so far.
Welcome to beta, you're there so this stuff happens;)
thing is the problems they had in beta shouldn't happen in a beta, betas are still controlled, you know how many will log.
thing is if ou really wnat to play this game wait at least 6 months, anything sooner and you guys will rage.
also elder scrolls will not be the game of the year, will not be best game ever, it will be a game, cursed for a rough launch day, long lines, and MMORPG forums full of people crying and others saying I told you so.(like all launches), serious the best launch days was from korean games who was not hyped at all.
You drew all this from just playing 20 minutes of the game...??

^^.
I've already pre-purchased Imperial Edition. Played like 10h/day during the beta. What I saw is enough to justify the sub.
Besides, 2500h in GW2 is enough;-)
Im getting it.
10/10
Already pre-ordered my physical Imp. Edition....^^
