once i was realy hyped for this game and got more hyped by every single video and report i found.
then i finally got a key for a betaweekend and after playing some levels i asked myself "how the hell could i get hyped for this game?"
It´s the first mmorpg ever, i got bored in the first 6 levels.
i even played every single class and race because i still had some hope i just picked the wrong class.... but i was wrong, the entire game bored the hell out of me everything felt slow and repetitive. I still have nightmares of the combatsystem, it was just like secret world... 1 1 1 1 1 2 1 1 1 1 1 2 ...oh i need a CC... 3 1 1 1 1 1 2.
And the tutorial/startingarea was so bad, i can´t even find words for this
so, NO for pre-order and never will buy it, unless a lot of things change.
Could you please let us know what ... MMO's you've played where you need to press more then 3 keys in the first ... 6 levels? 10 levels?
About the tutorial area, well , it seems lots of people are saying the same , so I will not comment on that one. However, as a previous poster has said, why carrying THAT much for the first levels, when you will probably spend the less time in that area, throughout your journey to the level cap and beyond?
This has nothing to do with lowlevel... the entire game is designed like this and the combatsystem keeps the same even at highlevel, just using 7 Skills instead of 3.... but you allways have to build up your class ressource by pressing 1 and then if it´s full you press 2 to use this ressource for a burstdamageskill. All the other skills are just things like heal, cc, leap, stealth, pet summoning, etc... but the main damage allways comes from 1 1 1 1 1 2.
It even takes this long to kill a mob, not like in other mmo´s where they die after 2-3 hits at lowlevel. This game is realy grindy and slow leveling with a slow combatsystem. the pace even felt faster in the secret world, which has a realy slow combatsystem.
I hope you have fun with whatever you choose. I played a beta weekend and loved most everything I saw/played. Yes, there was some refinements needed, but it is a beta. The combat system was just fine. Not everyone wants a complex set of things to press to accomplish the same thing. So you are acting all high and mighty, but you are full of it.
Did play one beta. My opinion, yes its wowish, but it doesn't look bad. I did buy ESO sooner, but I will maybe try later Wild Star too. I am player for long time, its my hobby and I have some money, so why don't try what I enjoy?! I don't think we should look for wow killer, just because there isn't reason why. People should start to understand, that wow doesn't have to be killed to start enjoying other games.

Shoddy attempt at trolling, really.
Maybe they are just epically confused and think it's an ESO post... But anyway... Yea, I'll pre-Order ... Played the beta (actually still am), and it definitely has potential.

I like Disney stuff though. I remember when I was 16 in High School and not wanting to look like a phag in front of my friends; only playing grand theft auto and such. But then I grew out of that immature phase and became more open minded. Sad some people still remain stuck there...sigh...or maybe you are still around 16? I don't blame you then.
i say no. i generally dont like to pre-order as i have fell for the hype before. for games that have me intrigued though, wildstar is definitely one. i have a beta invite for the weekend so i will see how it is. i must admit i am not expecting much as its 3 months away from release. but you never know.
It's too early for me to answer this yet. The game is still months away and unlike ESO, I haven't had much of a chance to play it due to them being more selective in who gets in the beta and how one key doesn't get you into all the tests.
However, I did play one weekend and at first I was a little disappointed given I'd definitely had higher expectations for this than I did for ESO. The starting ship wasn't all that great of a beginning experience, although ESOs Cold Harbor was just as dull, and The questing was the very standard hub type play. The pathing system wasn't as deep as I hoped it would be. (at least from the 9 lvls I played).
When I did get out of the tutorial and into larger areas the game definitely became more interesting. Even though the questing approach wasn't totally innovative or anything, I enjoyed the positioning and camera based combat system while doing them, and I also enjoyed the platforming style objectives directed to me by my explorer path. The world also felt very rich and vibrant and made me want to seek out other areas of the map. Another thing that I like is the games humor and its wacky approach to art style and mob designs.
I will be playing again this weekend with the key I picked up here to get more experience in and try a lot more content as I only leveled to 9 before. There are so many features this game has to offer that sound like fun and I want to try them out to see if they actually deliver. I want to get a taste of the dungeons, adventures, shiphands, housing, OWPvP, Arena PvP, etc...because the multitude of features this game offers its one its main draws for me.
Why play a WOW clone when you can just play WOW!!!
Wildstar plays nothing like WoW. The combat, exploring, questing and lore are radically different from WoW. The setting is very different and it feels fresh and new. You can do things like dash-dodge attacks, double-jumping, and there's no "autoattack" button or "autoaim" skills, neither in PvE or PvP. If you want to hit something, you have to aim it. If you want to not be hit by something, you have to move out of the way, rather than hoping for your Dodge Rating score to save you.
Only an ignorant person who hasn't tried Wildstar or a troll would make an comment such as yours. So take your pick.
I've been a WoW player for 6 years, and where I ended sick and tired of gradualy easier and easier content in WoW, I fell enamoured by Wildstar's dynamic and innovative concepts, mixed with what I loved from oldschool mmo's such as large hardmode raiding and truly meaningful and entertaining BGs.
I will definitely preorder.
My opinion is my own. I respect all other opinions and views equally, but keep in mind that my opinion will always be the best for me. That's why it's my opinion.

Are you serious here? I wish the Wildstar fans the best, I played the beta a good bit and realized it wasn't for me but I don't have anything against the game. Still, about the only thing in the highlighted statement that is even remotely realistic is that the lore is definitely different from WOW.
Since Wildstar have dynamic combat, a fraction of lag can be deadly especially when playing an esper (i did), my country's average connection can't handle Wildstar and if I'm upgrading it can cost up to 100 dollar /months, too expensive for an average earnings but I'll probably check the latest beta weekend to see if the issue is still a hindrance or not

Then you didn't play much, because the combat of Wildstar is about the opposite to WoW. If you said "Wildstar's combat is a clone to GW2", I might even accept that as a remote approximation. But WoW? No, sir. Go out there and document yourself.
And about the questing, Wildstar might have some general mmo patterns when it comes to questing, which doesn't mean it's like WoW, it's simply a themepark mmo. Still, the Path system and variety of quests make it different from WoW both in design and execution.
My opinion is my own. I respect all other opinions and views equally, but keep in mind that my opinion will always be the best for me. That's why it's my opinion.
Looks very fun, packed with content and nice twists on common themes, with cool combat, cool class development system, including a lot of features some MMORPGs don't add til long after release (house, insane amounts of customization, huge variety of content), good lore, and more.
I actually like MMORPGs so the idea of leveling, questing, doing instances, and eventually doing endgame in a fun game with lots of choices is appealing. I'm kind of thinking that a lot of people are wasting their time following MMORPG when they don't even like the genre or want it to be something else.
I don't want to say it's because it's the only good looking MMORPG in the near future, because that's not a reason to buy, but it pretty much is the only good looking MMORPG in the near future.
ESO is going to sell a ton of units even though it is a weak game and a poor MMORPG, and that's just sad.
Premium MMORPGs do not feature built-in cheating via cash for gold pay 2 win. PLAY to win or don't play.
I already pre ordered the game. Its a different combat style with a learning curve. Its not as dumbed down for the masses as a lot of games are now. Played in the beta and its been so much fun. Cant wait !
No. For one reason: I hate cartoon games. The idea that "realistic" looking games don't age well, so let's be all stylized, doesn't really apply when your game looks like it came out in 2000. Lot's of folks say gameplay is better than visuals. True, however visuals are part of the gameplay and if they hurt my eyes then the gameplay is good for people in the glasses industry. In fact I think there may be more to this. Do any of the devs have any connections to the correctional eye industry? I think we need a congressional hearing.
I pre-ordered for my wife and I. Was in beta for a long time and I know this game is quality. Has its problems like most new games but what it does not lack is content. IMO that far outreaches many new MMOs already, including ESO.
I thought I'd love ESO and hate Wildstar but after playing ESO beta 3&4 I dislike (not hate) ESO. Wildstar is better than expected (from my brief play today) but I don't think it offers anything new that I cannot get elsewhere. So no pre-order here.
This game feels too much like vanilla WoW with some new game mechanics slapped on top. I'll keep an eye on it, but for now I don't think I'll be picking it up.
Played for the first time this weekend and have a few characters at around level 10-12. I still can't believe they're going with the same old MMO model. Quest hubs with pointless kill and fetch quests (with stupid quest texts that no one reads anyway) that have you do these mindless tasks over and over and slap the good old $15 per month on it. That they (and ESO) are using the same $15 per month plan is still mind blowing for me. I mean not even adjusting it a tiny bit, making it cheaper and therefore more appealing. No they're sticking to the old model.
This won't work. Not for ESO and surely not for WildStar. Needless to say I'm not preordering. I don't see the point if this goes F2P or B2P soon after. The last sub MMOs have failed, these two will too.

Posts like this are worthless. Cartoonish graphics don't make for a similar game. Why not call it a TF2 clone?

Pre-ordering is a risk at best; from experience always best to wait at least a day or two after launch.
Not as though the game won't be available the day after.
