Thats on a good month too by the way. so that means, by taking 5.625 and divinding it amongst 24 people. Now keep in mind thius is saying your guild is only 24 people strong, and daily players. That means it would take 4.2 months to get Everyone a Fabeled Item. Now thats on daily 3 raids a day. Thats horrid. I can understand making it hard to achieve master chests, but that is horrible. Their loot was so awful i contemplated about even logging on to raid. Thats why alot of people leave this game it just takes them a few months to get high enough level to raid. and figure it out like i did. this was my 100th post, on this new account. =p
First of all that example of yours is seriously outdated also I doubt it was ever really that way. I dont know what you were raiding but even tier5 the one day lockout instances had lot higher drop rate of masters than 1 out 8. Only zone in tier5 with drop rate like that was Drayek and thats why many guilds didnt even bother doing him. Feerrott, Commonlands and Antonica had rate of about 1/3-1/4 MIN. There was 2 day lockout Zek with almost guaranteed masters, plus couple week long lockout instances with guaranteed master drops. Frog zone usually dropped over 10 master chest evening and had week lockout. Etc.
Anyway we are in tier6 these days and im happy to say I love raiding again. I quit for few months during last summer came back about month after DoF was launched and been raiding t6 for couple months now. All I can is great job SOE, the zones are actually zones, no more one day lockout rooms. There are 4 huge raid zones with week lockout plus few smaller raid zones. Each of them nets about half a dozen masters per clearing plus legendary item loot, no bosses in raid zones drop anything less than legendary items these days.
Anyway just made this post to point out that people should probably take Munk´s talk with a grain of salt. I love playing EQ2 again and cant wait for the next expansion.

You haven't tried the SWG trial have you? you are right jodokai Trial of the Isle is exactly how the rest of EQ2 is, *goes off to solo sunchild with grey gear*. Why would SoE introduce a trial that stops at level 6 other then to dupe people into believing 'this game is easy and fun must buy the rest of it'. Of course I could mention the lack of a detailed crafting guide on Isle of Refugee, but I shall leave that for my next witty reply. Never mind SoE are going to review archetypes , oh and it's only taken them over a year to fix the dumb question "Are you an artisan or an adventurer?" on the trial. Hooray for an expansion for that will remove all bugs from the game, make it zone free and best of all its free. (ok I made that last sentence up).

First of all he keeps talking of tier 5 which has been thing of the past for about 4 months now. So even though he argued I dont know shit, he doesnt even seem to understand people are raiding tier6 now.
Secondly sure I could make math about something that is based on completely false percentages and make it look like whatever I want. Again as I said in my last post there is maybe one instance in tier 5 with drop rate of 1/8. Also as I said but this is obviously something I must keep repeating people are doing tier 6 instances these days and everyone I´have talked with agrees tier 6 raiding is done better than tier 5.
3th point, loot has been improved, its funny how this guy can argue against it and at the same time admit he knows nothing about tier 6. Good example is again like I said before no boss mob in tier 6 raid instances drops wood chest anymore these days.

If you want more opinion´s best way to get them is probably download the free Trial of isle tutorial, even though you can´t leave the island you can do /w all 60 and send some a /tell and ask the people playing yourself.

How were you ever a fan of EQ 1 if you didn't like raiding for hours on end? That's all EQ 1 was/is. You get into a high-end guild so you can get better loot.
Your character is very -minutely- different from everyone else of the same class. It was all gear-based.
I dunno, seems like you're being pretty hypocritical. You hate the things in EQ2 that made EQ1 what it was. At least, that's what you're saying.
I purchased EQ2 based solely on the trial, and I must say, I neither feel disappointed nor deceived. After quitting WOW a few months ago, I've been trying out all other other MMO's out there (AO, SWG, GW, DaoC, etc.) and eventually came upon EQ2.
My characters are only level 11 so far, but I've had plenty of fun, read tons of interesting lore and seen some very pretty graphics. My only complaints so far are that the environments are less interesting (at least within Freeport) than on the Isle, and that high-level characters just don't look as cool and uber as I'd expect. Hopefully, by the time I ding 60 (or 70 rather), there will be some very cool looking armor around.

Sift this is probally the only time ill say this, But i couldnt AGREE with you more.
EverQuest 2 is not dying nor will it die for years to come.
EverQuest 2 Population MAY BE DWINDLING from the hype of its release yes. But it certainly isnt dying by subscriptions. However fact is Populations ARE DOWN, fro mwhat they were, but every game has a peak point, and now its settling in on a permanent player base. Just like every other MMO, World of Warcraft is only doing so well cause its so noobalishous, *yes i made that up aint it sweet?!* But as you can already see from these boards, people are finding this out after a few months and moving onto OTHER MMO's,I like to view World of Warcraft as a Giant Tutorial on how MMO's are run, and played. I mean i got my girlfriend playing it now to train her for vanguard, cause no other MMO on the market is as easy to pickup as WoW or as easy to LvL in, so she will be raiding and at end game before Vanguard is released and this will be her first mmo =p so Congrats to her!
Now back to subject, my friend Sift her is completely right, World of Warcraft has 5 million subscriptions BECAUSE Everyones mom bought little jimmy that game for christmas. But its cool, cause even the little kids get sick of worthless ganking easy gameplay and no end game content.
But ontop of all of this slop the TRAIL OF THE ISLE IS STILL DECEPTIVE BECAUSE IT COPIES WORLD OF WARCRAFTS PLAYSTYLE, of soloability and quick and easy access to everything. I mean come now, EverQuest 2 even got rid of the Boatrides you had to do before gettign to certain zones, such as Enchanted Lands and Ferrot, thus making the game easier to rush through cause you didnt have to find a group to get that part done. I mean if you look real close youll see in many ways how Eq2 is trying to copy WoW which i think is a HORRIBLE IDEA. Because sony wants Blizzards customers but people like Blizzards game more, for the moment. So they play blizzards game beat it in 3 months and are like, WOW! Im BORED! and go trollling around ot find another MMO to play, since WOW the best Tutorial ever made has shown them the basic idea of an MMO, they look at other games such as blizzards current competition EverQuest 2 ONLY TO FIND IT MORE AND MORE THE SAME AS WOW with prettier graphics, it will not attract new players this way, EverQuest 2 has got to start sticking to its guns, or populations will just keep dwindling and dwindling. Make the game harder, and put in more CONTENT not kill X amount of Goblins and return to X <NPC name here>. Thats not content thats garbage.

Fustration, that's all I can say. I hate when people blindly bash something without facts. I hate how people are stupid enough to see a post from "someone who knows someone" and think it's gospel. I'm sick of the unsubstiated claims. I'm sick of people that don't get the simplest of logical formulas(complex=hard, simple=not hard).
Take this thread as an example: I've asked a simple question to all the people that keep saying the Trial of the Isles is decptive: how is it deceptive? I've asked them to back up their claim. Out of all these posts, not one person has been able to come up with anything, yet they continue to spout about how deceptive it is.
What amazes me even more, is the people that say I'm an SOE fanboi. I doubt anyone here has seen any post of mine where I state how I feel about SOE, yet because I don't mindless bash things, and actually make people look at their rediculous statements for what they are, I'm an SOE fanboi.
If you make a statement, back it up, if you can't you're an idiot in my book. If you can't back it up, you're saying it because it's "cool" to bash something, or because others have said it so it must be true.
Then of course it comes down to, I give what I get. I'm sick of the unsubstiated claims. I'm sick of people that don't get the simplest of logical formulas(complex=hard, simple=not hard).
Take this thread as an example: I've asked a simple question to all the people that keep saying the Trial of the Isles is decptive: how is it deceptive? I've asked them to back up their claim. Out of all these posts, not one person has been able to come up with anything, yet they continue to spout about how deceptive it is.
What amazes me even more, is the people that say I'm an SOE fanboi. I doubt anyone here has seen any post of mine where I state how I feel about SOE, yet because I don't mindless bash things, and actually make people look at their rediculous statements for what they are, I'm an SOE fanboi.
If you make a statement, back it up, if you can't you're an idiot in my book. If you can't back it up, you're saying it because it's "cool" to bash something, or because others have said it so it must be true.
Then of course it comes down to, I give what I get. I've learned that there is no sense in taking the time to put well thought out posts on these boards as the either don't get read (people hate to be proven wrong, so they pretend the post doesn't exsist) or is responed to it with either: "You're an idiot", "You're just a fanboi", or "Stop trolling".
The longer I'm on these boards the further I sink to their level. Right or wrong, at least I can admit it.
i answered everything you asked, and more, how can you say i havnt laid down facts? i even have the friggen raid equation of loot for the game. Seriously, how much more geek do i need to get?

First of all that example of yours is seriously outdated also I doubt it was ever really that way. I dont know what you were raiding but even tier5 the one day lockout instances had lot higher drop rate of masters than 1 out 8. Only zone in tier5 with drop rate like that was Drayek and thats why many guilds didnt even bother doing him. Feerrott, Commonlands and Antonica had rate of about 1/3-1/4 MIN. There was 2 day lockout Zek with almost guaranteed masters, plus couple week long lockout instances with guaranteed master drops. Frog zone usually dropped over 10 master chest evening and had week lockout. Etc.
Anyway we are in tier6 these days and im happy to say I love raiding again. I quit for few months during last summer came back about month after DoF was launched and been raiding t6 for couple months now. All I can is great job SOE, the zones are actually zones, no more one day lockout rooms. There are 4 huge raid zones with week lockout plus few smaller raid zones. Each of them nets about half a dozen masters per clearing plus legendary item loot, no bosses in raid zones drop anything less than legendary items these days.
Anyway just made this post to point out that people should probably take Munk´s talk with a grain of salt. I love playing EQ2 again and cant wait for the next expansion.

you are right jodokai Trial of the Isle is exactly how the rest of EQ2 is, *goes off to solo sunchild with grey gear*. Why would SoE introduce a trial that stops at level 6 other then to dupe people into believing 'this game is easy and fun must buy the rest of it'. Of course I could mention the lack of a detailed crafting guide on Isle of Refugee, but I shall leave that for my next witty reply
. Never mind SoE are going to review archetypes , oh and it's only taken them over a year to fix the dumb question "Are you an artisan or an adventurer?" on the trial. Hooray for an expansion for that will remove all bugs from the game, make it zone free and best of all its free. (ok I made that last sentence up).

To be in a guild with a good enough MT to take on the Frog zone is hard enough to find, and ontop of all of that, it lasts for hours. Not EVERYONE HAS 5 HOUR blocks of play time, on a daily basis. And if you knew anything you would KNOW the loot system was horse SheT. Cause out of all the guilds Team speaks i have been on, all of them had agreed with me that the loot was simply HORRID and to fit every member of a lets say a small 100 person guild with a fabled ITEM FROM A RAID WOULD TAKE A YEAR. Yes no joke a FULL YEAR. Now please get out of here with your noobish antics, and trying to talk to me like i don't know the end game. I done every raid they had to offer, AND killed the Mob. The loot doing Cazic Thule raid is decent. But the frog is BY FAR THE BEST But still can only be done once a week. And thus still KEEPING MY mathematics at THE SAME as they were then and as they are NOW. The loot is the same even with 10 master chest drops, thats only on a weekly basis, and i know every guild has more than one person per a class, so sometimes the same item drops ALOT. ALOT ALOT. So the people who play a more unliked or unpopular class, makes out the best when it comes to loot. ANOTHER Problem with their looting is this right here. A TEMPLAR CAN WEAR EVERY TYPE OF fabled ITEM DROPPED IN THE GAME. They are the only class also inquisitors that CAN DO THIS.

Those mathematics were based on just a 24 man raid of a 24 man guild. I KNOW, and YOU KNOW, guilds are alot bigger than 24 people. And outfitting each one of them with just 1 fabled ARMOR piece NOT CRAPPY MASTER SPELLS. would TAKE UP TO A YEAR. Hell my old GUILD LEADER doesn't EVEN HAVE A fabled ITEM YET TO DATE ITS BEEN A FULL YEAR OF HIM NON STOP RAIDING, lol he keeps loosing the rolls i guess, but he just wants to please the members of HIS GUILD. Thats a true leader, to take the shaft, and let his members have before him.
So please don't even try to prove yourself, or how "I know nothing and haven't played in oh so long blah blah blah" its been like 2 months man, they hadn't done shet in 2 months. I still keep in touch with my old guild todate.

How were you ever a fan of EQ 1 if you didn't like raiding for hours on end? That's all EQ 1 was/is. You get into a high-end guild so you can get better loot.
Your character is very -minutely- different from everyone else of the same class. It was all gear-based.

I purchased EQ2 based solely on the trial, and I must say, I neither feel disappointed nor deceived. After quitting WOW a few months ago, I've been trying out all other other MMO's out there (AO, SWG, GW, DaoC, etc.) and eventually came upon EQ2.
My characters are only level 11 so far, but I've had plenty of fun, read tons of interesting lore and seen some very pretty graphics. My only complaints so far are that the environments are less interesting (at least within Freeport) than on the Isle, and that high-level characters just don't look as cool and uber as I'd expect. Hopefully, by the time I ding 60 (or 70 rather), there will be some very cool looking armor around.

EverQuest 2 is not dying nor will it die for years to come.
EverQuest 2 Population MAY BE DWINDLING from the hype of its release yes. But it certainly isnt dying by subscriptions. However fact is Populations ARE DOWN, fro mwhat they were, but every game has a peak point, and now its settling in on a permanent player base. Just like every other MMO, World of Warcraft is only doing so well cause its so noobalishous, *yes i made that up aint it sweet?!*
But as you can already see from these boards, people are finding this out after a few months and moving onto OTHER MMO's,I like to view World of Warcraft as a Giant Tutorial on how MMO's are run, and played. I mean i got my girlfriend playing it now to train her for vanguard, cause no other MMO on the market is as easy to pickup as WoW or as easy to LvL in, so she will be raiding and at end game before Vanguard is released and this will be her first mmo =p so Congrats to her!
Now back to subject, my friend Sift her is completely right, World of Warcraft has 5 million subscriptions BECAUSE Everyones mom bought little jimmy that game for christmas. But its cool, cause even the little kids get sick of worthless ganking easy gameplay and no end game content.
But ontop of all of this slop the TRAIL OF THE ISLE IS STILL DECEPTIVE BECAUSE IT COPIES WORLD OF WARCRAFTS PLAYSTYLE, of soloability and quick and easy access to everything. I mean come now, EverQuest 2 even got rid of the Boatrides you had to do before gettign to certain zones, such as Enchanted Lands and Ferrot, thus making the game easier to rush through cause you didnt have to find a group to get that part done. I mean if you look real close youll see in many ways how Eq2 is trying to copy WoW which i think is a
HORRIBLE IDEA. Because sony wants Blizzards customers but people like Blizzards game more, for the moment. So they play blizzards game beat it in 3 months and are like, WOW! Im BORED! and go trollling around ot find another MMO to play, since WOW the best Tutorial ever made has shown them the basic idea of an MMO, they look at other games such as blizzards current competition EverQuest 2 ONLY TO FIND IT MORE AND MORE THE SAME AS WOW with prettier graphics, it will not attract new players this way, EverQuest 2 has got to start sticking to its guns, or populations will just keep dwindling and dwindling. Make the game harder, and put in more CONTENT not kill X amount of Goblins and return to X <NPC name here>. Thats not content thats garbage.
