You need to check out another server. I play on Malygos and Malfurion and have not seen anyone yet I would call a jerk or a child. It has been one of the BEST communities I have seen since SWG (RIP). I have played since launch on a variety of servers and it has been rare that I have even put anyone on ignore.
Sure I agree there are problems with some servers' communities but not all of them. I play on Blackhand and I am in a very large guild. We have players from all ages, and we even have girls (OMG!!!). We have recently been doing MC and building a quite efficient group at moving through the instance. Each week we go we have 12 and 13 year olds that come with us, but they play just as good and in some cases better than other players. Please don't come on a post something like this because you had a bad experience on one server.
By the sounds of it you can get to 60 pretty quickly. jump to a few other servers, level to 60 in a week and see what it has to offer. What do you have to lose?

Alright well I can see your point about kids not contributing to an end game guild but why do you hate women? I have been playing mmo's for 3 years. I started in ffxi. I lead my own ls and had 2 characters at lvl 60+ In wow I have 2 lvl 60's in 2 different end game guilds. I have worked with both of them to get past Nefarion and defeat Erinakus.
This game is no worse than ffxi when it comes to immature players. You just need to find a guild with mature players and you never have to interact with anyone else if you do not want to. Yes the /ignore function is my friend.

Well, first off thanks for the laugh reading this thread.
Second... I first intended to crush your hate against women ( Btw you sure you ain't 12? I mean at least at 13 you should stop hating women ) with arguments but then I thought telling you about the guild I been in who killed Ragnaros several times now with a female leader ( omg! Imagine that! ) isn't worth it. For kids I can't say much myself I'm afraid. I rather play together with people who're over 20 too. Sure there are more mature teens aswell for sure but the chance of meeting a cool person to play together is higher when searching for someone older ,IMO.
Though:
WoW must be the only game where I turned off the general chat. The community is horrible, though I, as a thinking being, expected something like that of a high populated PvP server. So I wasn't really shocked and waited with turning off the general chat untill I found a nice guild then I did not need it anymore anyway.

The main problem....is you play on a PVP server. Everyone knows pvp servers have by far the worsed communities in WOW. I also started out on a pvp server and would say the same thing you did. However I switched to a RP server to play with an old guild.......I have an ignore list of zero. Of course periodically I do put people on it, I just whipe it out every month or so. But teh community is pretty damn good there.
Join a guild composed of older gamers, ala Thorns of Gold on Proudmore. We're part of www.TheOlderGamers.com. This is a great guild, very helpful and mature.
But I agree, the young-lings can really make this game difficult to enjoy at times. That's why my ignore list is huge.

Paladins have been shafted for quite a while up til 1.9 and have been one of the most rare classes on every server even with their advantages.
I've played my fair share of MMOGs. WoW is one of the easier games to play and caters to casuals (more so than other mmogs out there). What people (like the OP here) really dislike is that the server isn't full of people who are fanatic addicted hardcore gamers who will put in as much effort as they would. WoW does breed a sense of nonchalant behavior, but that doesn't mean you can't have a good community.
I saw far more jerks in Lineage 2 than WoW. But it might be that I'm always on RP (or RP-PvP) servers so I don't see all the other idiots who play WoW.

I disagree with this statement. I find the community exciting and vibrant, albeit there are moments that can appear silly and childish. But as a whole, a game with this huge a population, seems to work well. There are options which allow you to turn off general chat, ignore users etc. All in all, the community is the least of my concerns with WoW. Now with the server wide quests to open the gates of AQ, the community is working closer than ever to achieve the world event, quite a novel idea. Props to Blizzard for its forward thinking.

Sure the RP servers have like no one RPing and I have seen some who do and sure some 12 year olds and crap play but believe me age doesn't mean mental maturity. While I do agree that many of the people who play have really lousy attitudes and seem to feel griefing and harassment is all part of the "alliance vs. horde" experience, I can't say that I would come into the foriums for said game and assault everyone and their mother about it. Again, my reply is pretty simple. If it's that miserable for you, leave the general chat, ignore the useless ones (as I do), ignore the behavior, report them or just flat out play a different server/game if you can't deal with them anymore. But showing up here and attacking everyone who responds to your post simply makes people dislike you and not ssee the intent of the post, which appears to me to be frustration at the asshats who give us all so many hours of entertainment when they harrass us.
